ikke1959 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Thaksin wanted to study to built a new capital already in 2003... 22 years later nothing, really nothing has happened. And do they really believe that Suvarnabhumi will be spared?? It is built on a swamp already.... -
Report Race Against Time: Bangkok May Be Below Sea Level by 2030
ikke1959 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Yes they talk, but don't do anything...It will take years to create a new capital, and if we all see how slowly they are on Rama II road it will take even several decades to make it, but Thailand never thinks ahead, only when their are getting wet they will take action, far too late.. And than we don't even talk about the coast resorts of Pattaya, Hua Hin, Cha Am Pranburi etc...I am living about 15km from the sea, but I told my partner, maybe we will get a house on the beach after several years -

Report Race Against Time: Bangkok May Be Below Sea Level by 2030
ikke1959 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
I read this kind of topic already for several years, but I never read an article that states that the Government is making plans to find a new location for the capital. Indonesia however is already building a new capital for years, but in Thailand I suppose they will start when the water is in the streets, even in the dry season -
First of all the night is for bad ones... if the entertainment venues close at 1.00 am a lot less will happen, I know you will agree with that. Secondly indeed the parents, but if the parents think they are more than the lower class the kids will act the same.. I am more important than you, my father/mother is high ranked so nothing can touch me... and so on.. and the parents have the same attitude,, Do you know who I am?? Besides that how can people raise and educate people as the most parents did not get any education when they were young.. In Thailand nobody can say anything about anyone here, so in fact everybody can do as they want, Parents have to work, drop their kids by brothers/sisters/grandparents... In the Western world parents work too, but they raise their own kids... Here not..and with a lack of enforcement any law bij the RTP these things are happening.. and the parents will tell the RTP: they are young, I can't control them, I didn't know, same as in traffic accidents.. a lack of responsibility
-
The result of too late opening hours of bars and the lack of any police enforcement .. together with the corruption and the so called high profiled people with family who think they are more than others, makes the country a free state to do whatever someone like to do... The law can't touch us is an example that shows that high ranked people are protected

There is a difference between complaining and address issues....In the Western world we are allowed to discuss topics, as here in Thailand the same discussions always are being seen as complaining... An example was that in school we were with other teachers talking about the coming English Camp and how to deal with the kids, but a Thai English teachers told us that we were complaining again, but we just discussed some issues of the previous English Camp and how we could improve the problems we got there. Just to say

Report Sex Scandal Shakes Thai Buddhism: Monks Defrocked Amid Allegations
ikke1959 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Thai Buddhism not Theravada Buddhism, but a mix of several religions.... In the real Buddhism monks throw away their money when they go into the monastery, here in Thailand they do the same, but with other hands they will receive a lot of money from the lay people for praying at many occasions. Result is that most monks have good filled bankaccounts. I have seen several monks in Thailand smoking, although for monks it s not done, we have read many times that traffic offenders or other culprits entered the monkhood for penance for the wrong doings.. So instead of going to jail, they are being treated with all respect, although they sometimes seriously injured or killed someone... There are a lot of monks now it seems that don't live without sex too... All give the monkhood and Buddhism in Thailand a bad name and I hear from people that they stopped giving alms to monks and temples, because so many problems nowadays.. I think it is time for the board of Buddhism in Thailand to stop this by making being a monk an exclusive profession.. which means that in fact only kids can grow to monks in a temple and all other should have flawless state of living. -

Tourism Travel Subsidy Drama: Thais Snub Half-Price Holidays
ikke1959 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
There are just too many holidays in Thailand.... How can people ever go every time somewhere?? The holidays could be halved without problems.. but as long as a holiday on a weekend day is seen as work, and therefor substitute days off need to be given, there will be no change .. This month Asaharn Buccha and Kao Pan Sa this Thursday and Friday is a 4 day holiday... The Kings Birthday is the next fo a 3 day holiday as 28 July is a substitute holiday... And that is almost every month -

Report Pattaya Residents Disturbed by Noisy Night Motorcycle Races
ikke1959 replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
Okay the kids did it, but who gave them the motorcycles???? I suppose they were not imported, but rented here... but of course the rental company is not to blame as its is Thai. -
Who cares??? I live in a little, small Soi and everyday M.1 kids are speeding here in the soi to visit a friend, same age 12, 13 yrs old. speeding with no helmet and no clue what they are doing and really nobody is doing anything.. not the parents of the kids, not the police. nobody... I am waiting till something happen... It will not be if, but when... They are too stupid and they learn now to do things which result in accidents as these. Maybe extra information, 2 years a go the elder brother of the boy who these motor crazy kids are coming to visit died on his motorcycle, so I suppose reason enough to be careful

I am against casinos surely in Thailand, as people here gamble already a lot.. Only have to see the 2 weeks lottery draw of the Government but also in daily life they gamble illegal. Reason is easy, people don't have a lot of money and think by winning the jackpot life will be easier, but unfortunately they stay losers for ever, as they spend a lot of their money already and they can't stop gambling anymore, which will result in losing their winnings again. The Chinese influence is getting bigger and bigger in Thailand and in a few years it seems that Thailand will be the new Taiwan for China...

Tourism High-Spending Tourists Boost Thailand's Tourism Revenue
ikke1959 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
That is always the case..... The money counts but they rather love Chinese tourists for years, all other countries were not important... Now suddenly with less tourists they re invented the wheel as Westerners spend more, as they have always done in their holidays here, but which was never seen -
I will tell a secret Mr Anutin.. do you have proof that Thai casinos are bringing more tourists in?? Or is the same as with your cannabis policy? First allow it than recriminalise it?? Or with your incompetence of the Covid vaccins and handling the Covid crisis?? So please investigate properly before saying anything

Economy Thailand Races to Renegotiate US Tariffs as 36% Hike Sparks Alarm
ikke1959 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Maybe they can start to negotiate again on the 29 or 30th because in Thailand everything is last minute... Thailand should first lower their extreme import taxes on goods from the West before starting to negotiate- 38 replies
