  1. It was better that he would not be shot... Wondering why they did it to him, he is now just lucky...
  2. Totally agree, but it looks like Comedy Capers and not worth doing it... Just note their license plate .. safe for everybody including the RTP
  3. Thaksin will get high bloodpressure already only by the news... so again hospitalization if the verdict is guilty... But his wallet will prevent it
  4. The RTP should be totally being reformed and educated.. and surely start to work, doing their job 24 hours a day instead of a job from 9-5. And if the knowledge is missing, bring some foreign officers in to educate and train them... And to tackle corruption, let the Revenue Department check all assets and income and spendings of all police officers. It would show who and how corrupt they are
  5. Adjust your driving style when the wetter and roads are wet, but unfortunately here in Thailand they don't care and keep on speeding and keep not enough distance between cars.. Accidents are the cause of slippery roads,,, no .. accidents are done by drivers of the vehicles.. Also people who are scared to drive are a danger on the road as they slow down too much which causes accidents too..
  6. The RTP is on all levels incompetent as a new proof again.. Violence for a ticket is not done..
  7. OK.. My insurance company never asked it me
  8. I don't agree.. It sounds like a health insurance instead of a travel insurance.. They have never aske me for a travel insurance what health problems I have.. I can imagine that some things are not covered, but an insurance is mostly based on the uncertainty it can happen and a life or health insurance want to know which problems you have/had before accepting you as the possibility that the sickness must be treated is bigger.
  9. No mention of what the RTP is investigating in this case or what they believe happened... I don't understand that so many travellers go on holiday without an travel insurance.. It is just a little money to protect your health and luggage... Anyway, more of this story will come I think
  10. When are going people use their common sense?? Early morning an accident with a vehicle from Chumpon... Of course the driver was tired and maybe sleepy... Driving at night needs more energy than during daytimes, known all over the world. and in the early morning hours most accidents occur... Make rules for trucks and overloaded pickups with tachographs installed so they are not allowed to drive more than 2 hours and than take a rest of 30 minutes or so... Read today this forum how many accidents are mentioned
  11. I think it is time to review some laws, as there is a need of people like this.... Of course everything according to the new laws, but be fair opening a business with a sharehold of 51% for Thais and the investor only has the minority of 49% of the shares is not inviting new businesses. Besides that tourguides are a protected Thai occupations and no foreigners are allowed to do it and you can only hire 1 foreigner on 3 Thai employees.. It is not of the 21st century anymore. The lazy Thai people are being protected but are keeping the country away from going forward.
  12. Outdated laws, and no investments of the old guard government have caused this... No tourists were good only the Chinese, other countries did not have the attention. And still Only Chinese tourists is what they are talking about.. But change things allow vaping, and tax it.. welcome tourists from other countries as guests instead of criminals. Stop making headlines in the news of a few tourists who don't behave correctly, handle the double pricing, renew the alcohol sales/buying hours, do something about the airpolution and road safety, as in driving as well in transport, stop constantly complaining that foreigners are bad and renew the labour law so that foreign guides can do a job instead of protect the guiding only for Thai people and many many more things can be done. Renew the rules to make a business
  13. Outdated laws in Thailand???? How can that in a conservative and old fashioned country?? Many laws should be reviewed and enter the 21st century. PP has a view and will reform, that will benefit the country and the economy
  14. Thai justice system at its best....
  15. That will happen if you put all the eggs in one basket.... There are many more tourists willing to come to Thailand, but they are neglected... Only the Chinese are counting, and besides that no investments in the tourist industry don't make things better too.. So keep on chasing the few bad ones, make it big headlines how foreigners are ruining the country and its culture(?), how bad all foreigners are and many more negative publication, instead be welcoming all countries, without scams, double standards, limited alcohol sales/buying times, no foreign speaking guides available( as it is a protected job) ,21st century smoking(vaping) fines, too overpriced THB and imported articles including low quality wines , airpolution, unsafe traffic and the list can go on.
  16. I am sure in The Netherlands there is always included, and on the bill you can see how much VAT is included... If I pay 1000 euro I pay 1000 euro and not 1210 euro, as the VAT is 21% for luxury goods....and a s a tourist I can ask for a special bill to get the VAT back at the airport. And if I am in Spain I can get a meal for 25 euro and that is included VAT not service charge, and it is mentioned in the menu that service charge will be added
  17. That is not the point... The point is in fact the prices should be included VAT and eventually service fees... it is not about the money, but how can you expect that customers will accept everything. For me it is simple.. I look at the menu and if i see + and++ I count 20% more to the bill I expect and if it doesn't match with i have in mind I find another restaurant... Or just leave it and eat at simple shop, as I don't want to be scammed
  18. I am wondering how they do it in my country and other countries in Europe.. All prices are Vat (in Dutch BTW) included and it works the same as here in Thailand.. The buyer pay VAT and when he sells he receive the price inclusive VAT from the customer and the differnce he has to pay to the Revenue department...Exactly the same, only in my country you find nowhere a shop that will add VAT extra on the price as it is included already... It needs some maths and here in Thailand I suppose they can't find out how to do administrate it
  19. Indeed, but I think the problem here in Thailand is that they can't calculate how much VAT is included when they sell something for 300 THB.. You need a bit Maths for it and as the education is very low it is too difficult to find out. Easier is add the VAT later so easy to find it back. But the customers are being scammed.. Discount 10%, but with the VAT of 7% added, the discount is not more than 3 % for example.. That is legal scam... Same for a bottle of wine in a restaurant... The wine is heavily taxed already but they add again a 7% VAT on it...and sometimes even service charge... And than wondering why people buy less
  20. The question is what is illegal and which Thai officials are involved??? Updating laws would be better, such as allow foreigners to guide instead of keep it a Thai protected job. Make starting a business easier instead of that every business needs a 51% in THai hands.. and hiring 1 foreigner om 3 Thai employees.. and many more
  21. Thailand the hub of insecure websites???
  22. I am very sorry, but why is are the prices not Vat included if you have to pay them anyway??? In many countries I have been there is always the VAT included in the price shown, but here in Thailand it must be different, Customers don't need to know how businesses work, but they have a right to fair price included everything.... so no surprises for them.
  23. The EC is too much involved in the processes before, during and after the elections.. It should be an institution that prepares the election, and after the elections took place they should stop with working.. But in Thailand they keep on going and as long as you stir in a poo the harder it will stink...And indeed they are an intermediary. And good politicians and people must be screened correctly instead of now a lot of corrupt, and incompetent people in power, but that is the EC now, probably done because of bribes. Get rid of these people as soon as possible
  24. That is in fact true.. Many times you see prices here and you are being always surprised with addition of service fee and tax.. Why not publish just the price included?? I had even at a sushi shop that at the end of the bill there was 7% tax while nowhere was a sigh that tax was not included.. It seems cheap, but in fact it misleading the consumer
  25. famous Thai rappers?? I think everybody who is trying to sing thinks he/she is famous... but my goodness ... better should keep their mouths shut
