168 hours economy do you mean, Sunday as we know it in the western world is also foreign to them, plenty of activity on that day.

The problem is they never rest or can rest.. if there is a party or karaoke bar somewhere they hardly can sleep, because of the heat they wake up early ... look at markets very early and in daytime you see everywhere people sleep at their merchandise .. just because they are too tired... And if they drive a car they can't rest too but will drink some Red Bull or other stuff to stay awake, and than the body in resisting and accidents happens... It is a cultural thing that need an urgent change to protect people..

  2. In Thailand it is common to use violence.... at home parents/brothers/sisters/grandparents/ everybody is beating everybody for nothing. In schools kids are being beaten with sticks and rulers for minor offences, and the RTP use a lot of violence too same as in the army and everybody know that... So when violence is normal in Thailand how can you expect that there would be other solutions to solve a conflicts.. Beat it is the first reaction... ( another example is the article of the elderly couple in Hua Hin about a land dispute) And I just read that in prison beating is normal too...

This way he will remember better to pay his bills.

In every country, football hooligans fight against a few.

Football hooligans... I would not dare to make this comparison.. a bunch of ladyboys against 1 tourist, while the football Hooligans fight against a bunch other of from the other club...Not for non paid bill

  4. It is always good to help someone, but what should a foreigner do when he/she can help someone in need?? The Thai laws are so strict that maybe you could get prosecuted for doing something without a workpermit. I know it will not happen but currently the RTP is so strict that I think I would not do it... Although I have a paramedical background , suppose the person you helped will or can not  survive...

  5. Chase away the tourists and longstayers, make a policy on the rich and superrich and see how the economy will go down further, while in the meantime the rich fill their pockets further... With outdated laws and a conservative attitude that Thailand has it will no go forward. Open the borders and the labour market, welcome tourists and longstayers, invest in the local people by better wages so they can buy more and give a better education to the kids so they will have a chance to get a better job. But now Thailand will go deeper down as tourist will stay away,,, because of the smart ideas of reintroducing the TM6 ( while Thailand and computers never match), entrance fees of 300 THB, non vaping policy for foreigners as the locals can do it, limited alcohol sales and buying hours, double pricing, double standards... But I am dreaming... The rich and famous of the country and the army will never give up one satang

Thailand is not moving forward for the majority of the Thais who live in poverty (or near poverty) at the bottom of the food chain.

The majority of these 'major infrastructure projects' tend to only help those with money, or those in Bangkok.

The population of Bangkok is projected to increase to just over 11 million people this year.

The population of Thailand is estimated at 77.1 million people.

Bangkok is not Thailand, but it is the only bit that the politicians look after.

Indeed Bangkok is not Thailand, but the rest of Thailand doesn't exist except when there are elections... Everything is based on Bangkok and its inhabitants and less for Chiang Mai and Phuket will do what they like as they think they are a special part of Thailand

It's not good for Thailand. Changes the culture. Makes the locals upset. There's already too many tourists so if you open that up to foreign labor too it would be the end of the country in some regions.

You are right... Nothing is good for Thailand and everybody comes to change its culture..All brainwashing...The truth is Thailand don't want to go forward, stay a conservative country, and as you said yourself already too many tourists.. That is why TAT is promoting Thailand not to come anymore...Your way of thinking is very wrong, but probably no experience in anything too.. There is more than enough work for Thai people and also for foreigners, but Thais don't want to work for a normal wage but want to be paid as a skilled foreigner, but they don't have the skills...Even the Burmese have to come in to work as Thais refuse to do that work.. Have you realized that??? Anyway you have your vision but I have mine and I only see that the country is going further down year after year, and not because a foreigner is working here

Fair chance just before these discounts come in on some destinations the fares will go up i.e. price goes up 20% a few days before a 20% discount is applied.

That is always... if you study economy it is normal.. rise the price and give a discount... or if you want to raise the price. promote the new price with discount so people get used to the new price.....Nothing is given away for free in business...
