Don't think so. Maybe it's a bit frowned on very recently but we used to have a pub lunch quite often in the UK. Business lunches on expenses could get pretty boozy for senior executives down.
THey write civil servants.. Business is something different.. Besides that is solved in this law by allowing to drink between 11 an 14

So called to protect kids from consuming alcohol
Did you even read the article?
Introduced in 1972, the ban aimed to prevent civil servants from indulging in alcohol during work hours
Drinking during working hours is in all countries forbidden and if they do so they will be fired.. Normal behavior if you are working but in Thailand there is a lack of common sense and although they pretend to be a free country, everything is limited

Even impossible at Makro that is in fact a wholesale shop for other shops... But common sense is in Thailand not available

Implement what you want, but as long as police officers, Government officials, teachers, military and many more are vaping how can you ever enforce this rule.. Much easier is to control it and make it more expensive and just like alcohol a minimum age

In Thailand there are many outdated laws, and this is one of them.. So called to protect kids from consuming alcohol, but what is the effect of it?? Normally students are in school but after 11.00 to 1400 they have a lunchbreak, but than alcohol is available to buy. Reason is easy... There are many parties with lunches and monks for weddings etc and than people must be able to drink, and after 17.00 the students go home and can buy if they want as there is no restriction anymore... So still my question what is the use of this stupid law, that only affects tourist and adults. And drunk driving starts often already after the party at 11.00 as they can drink. Solve it easily. Don't sell alcohol to people younger than 21 and by doubt ask for a id card... All problems solved., as those who living in Thailand and want to drink will get their alcohol anyway, but complaining that tourists stay away is normal with this kind of law.. Going to Spain ], Greece, or wherever and it 15.00 everybody can buy a beer, as here in the heat of Thailand it is not possible and not everybody is alcohol addicted

Another funny but sad thing is that there was a student that sometimes came to his school and lived with his English speaking UK dad along with his Thai mom. He was 19 and couldn't speak English, which means his regular school failed him and his dad probably rarely talked to him, leaving his education up to his mom and a Thai school.
It is just an example that Thai kids are being learned to be lazy... The non fail policy is not stimulating the student to take efforts in their study, exceptions are there too of course as there are kids who like to learn and study.. In Thai society it is often that a foreigner is not allowed to be a part of the education of the kids that are not his.. I know several cases that there were big problems between mother and stepfather because stepfather wanted to be involved in the education, but mommy did not allow it..A friend of mine as example had a very high score in Toeic 9,8, but his stepdaughter did not wanted to learn with him and her mother did not encourage her to let her husband help her, but said she should better look for a Thai tutor... just to say

How can a English Teacher communicate with Thai students if that Teacher Can't Speak Thai to Explain things .
Ok he can speak proper English But that is it.
That is My biggest argument
My partner came to my country and had to learn Dutch.. However my partner only could speak Thai, not English or another language.. But after a few months he could speak read and write Dutch, much more even than Thai students know about English after 6 years in primary school. But my partner was motivated to learn and in my country there is no "no way to fail law".. If you don't learn or something you fail. How can a Thai teacher teach English if she/he is not able to speak with me in English??? The best way to learn a language is only use that language...Even Thai teachers could improve...

He asked me to talk to some of his students because I'm a native English speaker with no accent, which is the easiest way for the students to learn proper English. He hires other English speakers from a few countries to teach his students, but he wants them to only speak English while they are there, which is a good idea as the students need to work harder to learn, and it has shown in his students as many speak English very well.
Thai students are supposed to have English taught in their schools but it's very poor. My daughter who is 8 speaks better English than her English teacher and I'm the only one she learns from as her mom is too dense and non caring to try and help her with her English so she has it easier when we move to the US.
The school owner knows all about other schools as he visits many of them throughout the calendar year all over this area, and sometimes to other provinces to give 2-3 day seminars, where his teachers go and have classes throughout the time they are there to help them in a kind of crash course. I went with them a number of times and in all ages and you can see that some children can speak pretty well and some almost nothing, which shows some children want to learn and some couldn't give a dam.
Thailand should push for easier ways for English teachers to teach so they could help the children, which gives them a better chance for a higher paying job. The Thai teachers here, at least the ones I've seen or heard about, aren't too swift as English teachers, sometimes just handing out papers for the children to copy. They can write many words but don't know what they mean so it's useless.
Indeed... English camps are all in Thai except the papers..

Take a look at many busses.. They are very old and only got a new color to,hide the age... Why no regulations and checks on these busses?? Lives don't count in Thailand, and rules will never be followed, unless for foreigners... as there is the money to get

Another unnecessary victim of the unawareness of Thai people caused by lack of no enforcement of any law by the RTP, teachings at school, responsibility of parents and in this case temples. The "mai pen rai" attitude as I always call it is damaging the country more and more year after year..I see kids in my soi and neighbourhood too driving and they learn to drive incorrectly and what you learn incorrectly is very difficult to change

An unqualified teacher can sometimes better than a qualified teacher... All Thai teachers are qualified, but their teachings are terrible. How can you learn to speak English if the teacher even can't.. That will motivate students...

The problem is to find in the MInistry of Education, Kurusapha, as many foreign teachers don't get a permission anymore to teach. That means a lot of paperwork more for schools and the labour departments refuse or reject the work permits.. All due to too strict regulations. Goal of the previous Government is to keep foreign teachers from teaching in Thailand, as they could open the eyes of the students. On the other hand the Thai English Education is more than terrible. Happily I am retired, but the young English teachers in the school were I was teaching avoided me because they could not speak with me and a vice director was even a Master in English and could not talk to me too. Just to mention... I was wondering how she became a Master .. No wonder you don't see many foreign teachers anymore in schools.
Besides that the always pass system make the students lazy to learn and are not willing to work or do anything. Even Thai English teachers I spoke in the past are wondering why many students after 6 years still can't count from 1 to 20 and many don't even can't answer the basic questions as How old are you, What is your name... No wonder
And for fully qualified appropriate requirements nobody comes here to work for 35k a month in normal schools..Their qualifications are much more worth. Surely compared with the low education of the Thai English teachers

Thai justice system is to put everybody in jail, for whatever instead of other kind of punishments.. This case could be solved easily.. fine her for overstaying and deport her.. instead of put her in jail, but probably she had not enough money to bribe an official or refused to give other services.

Another action to make the roads safer surely with all the holidays and the rush hours... Solution is easy enforce the law and rise the fines as the fines and punishment are too low... Than a court can decide if it is a correct fine or not

There is no prostitution in Thailand according to several media and RTP.. It are all hostesses and waitresses... But indeed Thailand keeps old laws in place and changing them is almost impossible and will take decades.. It is time that a new fresh young Government is taking over and revive the outdated laws and make the country modern and enter the 21st century.

Maybe he has no family to help take care of him and has to continue working to survive. 600 bht a month Thai pension doesn't buy you much these days.
Totally true and with this amount of pension he can't hire someone to climb for him... That is also the sad story of Thailand

If you have certification as a Neuromuscular Therapy, then you can advertise that specialty in Thailand. Yes, it does involve manipulation of muscles and ligaments, but it's not the same as a massage. If I were such a specialist, I'd be checking to see if it's restricted, because I do not believe that it is.
I am a certified laser therapist too.. Not for beauty clinics but medical treatments

Thais are too lazy to work. Thailand is too conservative. Thai laws are there to hold their hands not put them to work. Thai laws need to be updated so I the sportsmasseur can work. My only comment is that if you feel your skills are being wasted staying here, then return to your home country. I'm sure your home country has regulations on who can legally work as a sportsmasseur.
I am fully qualified but I am not Thai... I got an education as a sportsmasseur and have a lot of experience. The course took 2 years and was in Latin, and besides massage also educated in nutrition, diets, taking care before and after sports, trainingsschedule and sporthistory...but massage is only for Thais... I think I know more about the human body than the average Thai masseur

If a foreigner has any sort of specialty when it comes to massage, such as sports therapy or a understanding of anatomy it would be a huge plus for someone like this to be able to practice. There are very few time masseuses that have a true understanding of anatomy. Perhaps it's time for some meaningful reform of the laws?

It think it is important that all lights and sounds should be forbidden on all cars except for the emergency cars as police/ambulance/and firefighters. And these cars are only allowed to use them in real emergencies, not to make the way free to drive easily for them. i noticed several times that ambulances are using their lights only to drive on and stop at a place with nothing to do with an emergency or that police cars use their lights for escorting busses on a trip, which is not an emergency... Even when there is a busy road car drivers use the emergency lane to pass or to go faster. High fines should be given for that, as an ambulance will be hindered too if needed. So keep a lane free. And the people behind the steering wheel and use the lights and/or sounds without emergency should be fined too. It are not toys, same as people who don't give free way..
But driving around on Thai roads there are so many vehicles that have red and blue lights flickering all the time and many are not even emergency ones.. no for example a car from a garage to pick up a car after an accident flashes these lights, a minivan wants tog
go faster and use these lights and many more examples.. Lately I saw a car with a speedboat at the back with lights....everybody has to move. If it is clear for the public and the people who drive these emergency vehicles than traffic will be easier.. Now it is unclear.. Only give free way for vehicles with sound and lights.. all the rest is not needed even not for guided busses
If people follow the rules there will be less problems and in Bangkok and all over Thailand, but by a lack of any enforcement of any rule it will stay a mess.. The RTP just has to go to work instead of raiding all kind of minor issues with too many officers.....

Children are not allowed to drive a car and happily no injured or dead people... Where is the parental guidance ?? He only drove 90 km a hour but what speed was allowed?? And a ghost probably involved as the steering wheel suddenly veered left.. It was not the poor boys fault
