    And the serious limitations are?

Probably none if installed & maintained at home, but the RO machines around the moo-baans that dispense water are seldom if ever serviced or cleaned.

They are installed & the vendor collects coins is all the attention they'll ever get. I've seen some that were broken down for months on end.

If the vendor can't afford to have them fixed when they quit making him money, then I doubt he'll ever spend a satang on maintenance.

    Internet of things (IoT) devices

Had to Google that term. I hadn't heard of it before.

"IoT is short for Internet of Things. The Internet of Things refers to the ever-growing network of physical objects that feature an IP address for internet connectivity, and the communication that occurs between these objects and other Internet-enabled devices and systems."

Here's my first impression. SKYNET. LOL

Backwards logic again. This would be the time of year when you think they might look the other way because so many people are on the move, for the special occasion.  It should be the other more normal times of the year where people should be encouraged to make other plans to get around as they should not make this a daily practice.

    That would require *cough* planning.

Advise them to do what many of us did when we first visited Pattaya.

Rent a girlfriend who knows every street, shortcut, baht bus route, tourist attraction, etc. despite herself having only arrived in Pattaya 2 days ago to take a job as a cashier.

    Best tour guides out there!

However, many Russian guys bring their wives/girlfriends, which is a mystery to me. It's like bringing a bucket of sand to the beach.

    They ask.

If they don't ask can't read minds.

    I get your point though.

Often in life no good deed goes unpunished.

To add maybe sometimes it would be good to try to read minds. The other day on the same trip some Russians waited until Central Mall to ask for Walking Street.

How do you say Oops in Russian?

You should give directions like a Thai, when asked in Thai.

Vaguely point in a random direction and then ignore them.

Not to mention the 6-wheel 'bus' with standing room only, 3 boy scouts sitting on the back step an another 4 hanging off the ladder and railings.

...And the kids are blocking the brake lights.

    See it every day though.

Basic, human instinct/will to survive would keep most folks from blocking brake lights with their bodies, but you see it every day.

I should add; the roads need massive work. More lanes also & probably a minimum speed limit. The ultra slow vehicles get many worked up to pass radically at high speed.

    Never mind, it's hopeless.

Absolutely. There is no "Flow of Traffic'. It's either balls-to-the-wall, or going 40 kph.

I've had numerous vehicles in Thailand (mostly newer rentals), and I've never seen a cruise control on any of them.
