  1. And how are you supposed to know what type of passport anybody is holding, if you don't check them?
  2. In minutes.... This is simply not true. I've done the whole "buy on exchange in native country, move to exchange in Thailand, transfer to local bank account" and more often than not the entire process has taken several hours. Generally when I use TransferWise, the money is in my account with seconds.
  3. Honestly that doesn't look like too bad a meal to me! I don't have much experience with children of that age but I'm dating a girl at the moment who has a daughter at kindergarten and she'd struggle to even finish that. I don't know if she's typical of a child of her age but, if she is, I don't see much point wasting money on bigger portions, with the caveat that if the child _does_ finish and _is_ still hungry then they can get seconds. A couple of pieces of fruit wouldn't go amiss, though.
  4. Relatively? A two way trip would cost 2500... That's just not viable. But there are other reasons it failed. In the off-season boats were cancelled at short notice due to low tides or poor weather conditions. The problem with this, on the Hua Hin side at least, was that the timing of the boats made it impossible to use the bus as a backup plan; the boat left Hua Hin after the bus so if the boat was cancelled your only other choice would be a taxi. Plus the boat left Hua Hin late in the afternoon, and went back quite early the following day, meaning a day trip was impossible, and it wasn't really very practical for a 1 night stay, either. To make it a useful service they need to be able to run two crossings per day in each direction, one early and one later, and need to be able to price it more reasonably. 1,500bt for a return journey might just about work (they could keep the one-way ticket at 1,200bt I suppose, so long as the return option is available). Then the price of the ticket needs to include a backup option (bus or minivan) should the boat not be able to travel on a given date. However I doubt there's enough demand to make such a service viable.
  5. I mean, most of us are happy to see Boris go. But it shows just how deluded the Russian politicians are if they seriously think that any new leader will be even remotely more supportive of the war (sorry, "special military operation").
  6. Actually 56% of the electorate saw it even back in 2019.
  7. Clearly there's the odd few that are still refusing!
  8. That's strange. Because every site I look at has far more than one poster (far more) calling Boris a liar. And there's a reason for that.
  9. So am I. I honestly can't think of anybody who could have done worse. But knowing the Tories they'll manage to find somebody...
  10. Yes, that is quite a childish mindset.
  11. Can somebody explain what this means please? I've read it several times and I still can't figure out what a "monthly repayment on your ATM card" is.
  12. Where do you live?? Budwiser is readily available in all the 7s and beer shops here. That would be nice, to be honest. As far as I'm aware there's no "budget" beer in the range between 4 and 5%. The 4% beers taste too watery for me, but a nice 4.5 or 4.6 would perhaps let me last an extra hour or so before calling time a night out.
  13. So rather than deal with minor injuries, she would be better off facing a murder charge?
  14. Where does this happen? Because it's cool to hate on a particular beer brand.
  15. I didn't realize people were using cannabis as an aphrodisiac...
  16. In the UK? Last time I was there I found I found places that accepted card or cash, I found places that only accepted card, but I never came across anywhere that only accepted cash
  17. As @Bert got kinky has explained, yes they can. Whether they choose to do so remains to be seen. Let's hope not .
  18. Why do you want your name on it? If you're worried about online purchases, just type your name where it says "Name on card".
  19. If you tip as aggressively as you write, it's no wonder you never get thanked.
  20. It does exist but it's something different that you don't need to concern yourself with. The easiest way to remember it is that a visa is a permission to enter the country. The stamp you get when entering, either with or without a visa, is permission to stay in the country. The length of the permission to stay will be determined the class of visa you had (or didn't have) when you entered the country.
