Who wants to Deny that Joe Biden was a Corrupt Liar?
placeholder replied to Yagoda's topic in Political Soapbox
Still raising discredited allegations? James Biden walked lawmakers through the two loans he received from brother Joe Biden, transcript shows Washington, DC. James Biden walked lawmakers through the process of receiving two interest free loans from his brother Joe Biden, who at the time was a private citizen, and how he paid those loans back, according to a transcript of the interview shared publicly Friday. Republicans leading the impeachment inquiry into the president have questioned the legitimacy of these transactions and made them central to unproven allegations that the president was involved in his family’s business dealings. James Biden testified that in 2017 and 2018 he needed money for “outstanding bills” and ultimately received two loans: one for $40,000 and one for $200,000. https://edition.cnn.com/2024/03/01/politics/james-biden-transcript-deposition/index.html -
Trump on Immigration: "We need a lot of people coming in."
placeholder replied to John Drake's topic in Political Soapbox
No backsies? This is the kind of statement one would expect from a 5 year old. When I was a kid, I had a friend who claimed he had the rule book and when a sports dispute arose he would cite one of those alleged rules, which, oddly enough, were always in his favor. It looks like I have found a kindred spirit of his in you. Of course, if you can quote such a rule from the official aseannow rules page, I will gladly concede. Otherwise, you'll just have to be patient. -

Maybe some or all of those quotes are on another thread. If that's the case I will produce an abundance of them tomorrow. -

That is far from his only quote on the subject. Just review the thread to see for yourself. -

Still waiting on that link which is your obligation to provide as the allegation was yours. -

Dumb yes. Sarcasm no. If it were sarcasm, that would mean you would be denying an obvious truth as a way to endorse it. So while your comment was dumb, sarcasm it was not. -

You made the claim so you should back it up with the link. If your claim proves to be true, I will gladly acknowledge that it was false. I notice that you still aren't acknowledging that you lied. Of course, if you claim that you were just ignorant of the facts, that would pretty much disqualify anyone from taking seriously comments from such a massively ignorant person. -

For all the ignorant parties posting on this thread who question how Joe Biden got his wealth. I've got some exciting news for you: believe it or not there's a thing called the Internet that can help you find information. What's even ore exciting, and apparently news to most of you, if you are posting on this forum that means you are on the internet right now. Anyway, I posted this question through something called google: where did Biden get his money? Andthe top answer I got was this: https://www.forbes.com/sites/michelatindera/2020/10/22/how-the-bidens-earned-167-million-after-leaving-the-white-house/ This underlined text is something called a link. If you click on it, it will take you to a very informative article. And, if, for some reason, that link doesn't take you to the information in the article, this one will: https://archive.ph/sM6Wx Edit. I guess you'll have to copy and paste what I called links into the search bar of your browsers. -

I'm not sure what thread you're referring to. But if I did misascribe a comment to you, I would gladly own up to it. That woul be a mistake. A lie is intentional. Or were you just mistaken in your allegation that the items featured in the photo were in Biden's possession. As for the rest, personal comments are utterly irrelevant to the issues at hand. Maybe you should start a post on my behavior in the appropriate forum. I doubt such a forum exists, but if it does, this one ain't it. -
Trump on Immigration: "We need a lot of people coming in."

Really? He was accusing temporary agricultural laborers of stealing jobs from Americans? That was his focus? Ridiculous. If you look at that quote from Trump, it's clear it was vetted and worked over. Not an off-the-cuff remark. And with your kind of reasoning, it's pretty much possible to explain away any statements anyone makes on any issue. "He didn't mean that" really doesn't cut it. -

Once again, all you've got is personal comments. The fact is you just lied about what in whose possession those documents were. -

Another stupid and false comment from you. You've got nothing. -

Nonsense. It's clear from the statement I quoted that he was talking about how H1B visas were being misused. His comments are clearly directed at that. They make no sense in any critique of the agricultural labor program. -

Not able to explain what? I remember when right wingers got all in a lather about Devon Archer's upcoming testimony to the House Committee. When asked what Hunter Biden was being paid for, Archer repeatedly explained that he scammed various wealthy and dubious characters into believing that he had pull with his father. These kind of claims are as foolish as those that claim Joe Biden's wealth is unexplained even though his income tax records are online and clearly show where his wealth came form. In other words, your claims are a consequence of your ignorance. What that ignorance is willful or feigned, who can say? -
What makes your comment even more foolish is the fact that Trump pardoned many his cronies - some of whom may have been in possession of knowledge that could incriminate him as was the case with Pau Manafort, convicted of tax evasion. Even worse is the case of Steve Bannon. Remember when Bannon and 3 co-defendants were indicted for fraud? For claiming that money that was sent to them to build the wall was all going to be used for that purpose alone? That they were taking nothing for themselves? Well, Trump pre-emptively pardoned Bannon but his 3 co-defendants all were convicted and sentenced to prison. What kind of message does that send to "everyone ever arrested for drugs, people trafficking, tax evasion, corruption at state level, SA with minors, weapons charges etc etc. It affects millions of people and it affects the once beloved mantra yet oh so rare to hear these days that "nobody is above the law"'?

What's obviously going on here is that a few anti-Trump persons got that wrong. So to deflect from the fact that Trump has reversed his position you harp on that. And you bring up Biden's pardon of his son. And that's because when it comes to defending Trump's reversal on H-1b, you've got nothing. -

Really? Here's a quote from someone you may be familiar with. His name is Donald Trump: "The H-1B program is neither high-skilled nor immigration: these are temporary foreign workers, imported from abroad, for the explicit purpose of substituting for American workers at lower pay. I remain totally committed to eliminating rampant, widespread H-1B abuse and ending outrageous practices such as those that occurred at Disney in Florida when Americans were forced to train their foreign replacements. I will end forever the use of the H-1B as a cheap labor program, and institute an absolute requirement to hire American workers first for every visa and immigration program." https://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/documents/statement-donald-j-trump-position-visas -
President-elect Donald Trump’s social media posts about annexing Greenland, Canada, and the Panama Canal startled America’s allies and delighted foreign foes. In Russia, the statements were interpreted to mean that Trump isn’t really opposed to foreign wars of conquest after all. To them, Trump’s tirades revealed that—just like Russian President Vladimir Putin—Trump would be delighted to invade any country that couldn’t fight back... In the meantime, Trump’s stated intentions towards Greenland, Canada, and Panama are being celebrated as implicit validation for Russia’s current and future land grabs. https://www.thedailybeast.com/kremlin-insiders-reveal-how-trump-is-already-secretly-helping-putin/

Tesla replaced laid off US workers with foreign workers using H-1B visas that Musk want to increase Tesla has replaced some of its US employees who were let go as part of a big wave of layoffs earlier this year with foreign workers using H-1B visas, which CEO Elon Musk is now campaigning to increase. Over the last week, Elon Musk has been promoting the increase of H-1B visas, which are used to bring foreign workers into the US for “specialty occupations.” Qualified foreign workers need to be sponsored by a company to get the visa, which lasts three years, extendable to six years, after which the holder needs to reapply. https://electrek.co/2024/12/30/tesla-replaced-laid-off-us-workers-with-foreign-workers-using-h-1b-visas-that-musk-want-to-increase/

Overall, according to historian Richard Overy, the Nazi war economy was a mixed economy that combined free markets with central planning; Overy describes it as being somewhere in between the command economy of the Soviet Union and the capitalist system of the United States.[13] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_Nazi_Germany#cite_note-12 -
