  1. No. Stephen Christopher Yaxley-Lennon, the multiple convicted criminal is in jail for contempt of court and for violating a court injunction. It was not an isolated event. He violated the injunction 10X, each time being warned to stop. Actions have consequences and a multiple convicted violent criminal cannot expect to thumb his nose at a court and get away with it. In 2021, he was bullying a 15 year old child and was found guilty of libel in that case with a £100,000 judgement plus legal costs. He was ordered. to stop his libel and chose not to. Yaxley Lennon forced the court to act. When jailing Yaxley-Lennon for 18 months, Mr Justice Johnson said: “In a democratic society underpinned by the rule of law, court orders must be obeyed.“Nobody is above the law. Nobody can pick or choose which laws or which injunctions they obey, or which they do not.“Even if they believe that an injunction is... contrary to their views they must comply with the injunction. “They are not entitled to set themselves up as the judge in their own court. Otherwise the administration of justice and rule of law would break down.”
  2. Do you have all the facts of this case, as the information provided so far is quite sparse and uncorroborated.
  3. Yes. Qatar hosts the Hamas leadership and their large fat bank accounts. If Qatar was serious about mediating peace, they would not be allowing Hamas leadership to lounge about in their. luxury villas. The US will put some pressure on Qatar. It won't be a pleasant outcome. Some of the Hamas leadership may be forced back to Gaza where they can experience the hardships first hand.
  4. Unbelievable. Well, obviously not, since it is a common occurrence. They have been running wild for some time. Appreciably, they have the legal right to protest and all that good stuff that we must respect. However, at some point, I would expect regular people to say enough and to counter protest and to take the fight to them. It is rather stupid on their part to do this.
  5. The sector attracts people who have social disorders. The work allows them to work in a silo with little social interaction with others, other than people who are just like them. The British Interactive Media Association (BIMA) recently revealed that tech workers are five times more likely to suffer from a mental health problem, compared to the wider population. Between four and 10 per cent of UK adults are thought to experience depression at some point in their lives but this figure pales in comparison to the tech sector, where as many as 52 per cent of the workforce admitted to suffering with stress, anxiety and depression at work. https://www.cpsgroupuk.com/news-archive/why-do-tech-workers-suffer-more-from-mental-health-issues/ As soon as I heard about this case, I just knew the assailant was home grown and would fit a common profile. The self importance, and work profile were textbook.
  6. LBJ - Passed some of the most important civil rights legislation. Laid the foundation fro the containment and reduction of poverty. Bush jr. -Saved millions with his HIV strategy. Obama - Restored US prestige in the world, stabilized the USA, oversaw a period of happiness Nixon- Established the EPA and began the stabilization of relations with Russia and China. Horrible man. Clinton- Ushered in a period of propserity and US economic achievement. No worse morally thatn Kennedy, Roosevelt, Taft etc. He just got caught. Reagan- Ran up US massive deficits which burden the USA today. Destroyed the integrity of the US government that had been restored by Carter. A true salesman and the original President with early onset Alzheimers. Biden is mediocre. Not bad, and not great.
  7. You assume the gas is from the USA. Are you aware that the while the USA exports to Europe, it is a relatively small amount. Approx. 1/3+ of all gas exports are to Mexico. A smaller amount is to Canada. The USA imports an amount of gas from Canada that is nearly equal to that which it exports to Europe. In effect the gas in large part is either Canadian or is offset by Canadian imports. The USa is not making windfall profits, nor generating the government tax revenues from the. transactions to accomplish what you claim. Once the Trudeau government is removed, Canada will start exporting oil and gas to Europe and will most likely sign a long term supply agreement that dwarfs the US supply. The Trudeau government has refused to allow energy exports to Europe because of its carbon pollution goals. The energy exports from the USA are environmentally respectful. The Russian energy exports leave a trail of environmental destruction and degradation. The EU should have stopped importing Russian energy long ago if it was sincere about its environmental objectives.
  8. 35% of the UK population does not pay income tax. A majority of the UK population receives more in government services and benefits than they contribute in total taxes. And yet here you come along to demand that pensions be increased. The UK is choking with debt and it's national wealth total has decreased. Who do you want to pay for the increased pensions? 10% of UK taxpayers already contribute 60% of the tax revenues. You can't bleed them anymore without killing them. The typical UK worker doesn't want to increase their pension contribution.
  9. Culling stupid tourists seems a bit drastic. Perhaps fining them would help. AT the monkey wat here in Hua Hin, one can sometimes see foreign tourists throwing objects at the monkeys while others try to coax photos by offering garbage to the monkeys. The monkeys are the way they are because of human stupidity. Monkey see . Monkey does.
  10. Very true. When an option to pay at the hotel is provided, it is almost always a higher rate. The reduced rates are paid in advance and are non refundable. And when using an OTA, if it is not a major chain, if paying at the hotel, the full payment is collected at checkin making it impossible to get a refund if checking out early. Please go to the OTA and see how it is structured.
  11. The accused deceased was a US born national. He was a US Army verteran but not a combat veteran. His specialty was HR and IT. I maintain that people who are in IT, whether coding, software development, or whatever, are most likely to be mentally unstable.
  12. Western male beauty parameters. In the arab and SE Asian world, a hairy woman is super sexy. This is why so many western men love the middle east.
  13. It is a problem in the west too. The construct of financing is a complete rip off of to consumers. Dealers love it because they are paid a commission on the financing contract. As vehicles become more expensive, the dealer/finance company response is to offer longer term contracts. The farce is that in 6 years, the vehicle is still not paid off and the consumer is burdened with an asset that has lost its value, while the consumer is paying compound interest on an inflated loan. The lack of basic math skills of the general population is demonstrated by the easy embrace of financing. No one wants it to end because the dealers and banks make their profit, and somchat somtam gets to show off a new pickup.
  14. The man can't catch a break. Here he is showing common sense, and actually saying something his opponents have demanded he say, and he still gets blasted. Yes, the Visa program needs adjustment, but that doesn't take away from the need for skilled workers.
  15. I could not be bothered. It isn't the first hotel. I had this at Marriott when I was in Miami this year. My theory is that the hotels use cheap sheets, no matter what they claim. The sheets are cleaned by laundry contractors. The sheets are folded by machines and the process pinches the sheets.
  16. This story relates to hotels, not Air BnBs. If the room is not prepaid, properly managed hotels will take a deposit at booking or upon registration. The deposit is released at checkout. Air BnB does not side with the guest, The AirBnB customer has to make a case backed up with documentation. When AirBnB supports the customer, it is with good reason. For example, violating Air BnB codes, spycams, failing to honour a booking. The host has multiple protections under the Host guarantee program. The host also has the option of taking a deposit prior to booking and occupancy. No different than a hotel deposit requirement. Many of the people who complain about their treatment as a n Air BnB host did not do their homework and understand their obligations as a host. More often than not the Air BnB host will have misrepresented the property. If Air BnB was such a ripoff, it would not be as successful as it is, nor would their be tens of thousands of participants. Yes, their are some bad customers. That's why the prudent host requires a deposit.
  17. Former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra has the full legal right to assist in Pheu Thai Party's activities. Thaksin received a royal pardon and was paroled. He is now a free man. He is not receiving donations. Pita has an absolute 10 year ban on politics. What part of this do you not understand? This has been discussed in mutiple Thai English language media outlets.
  18. No. In what deluded world would a sovereign nation of 40 million and 9th largest GDP in the world become a state when there are states with a fraction of its population (Montana - 1 million, Vermont 650,000) Why would Canada accept equality with those states? Trump Jr. is about to ignite the fires of Canadian nationalism. The USA will regret the consequences. Might be the best thing to happen to Canada though. It is time it reduced its ties to the USA, maybe even consider a new arrangement with Russia and China. 😗
  19. 4 years in politics is an eternity. Much can happen. Farage is Reform. It has no structure, no leadership and no parliamentary gravitas. All it will do is split conservative votes. I anticipate that a payola or sex scandal will hit Reform or Labour. In the UK, there is always some Rentboy or Dominatrix hiding under the bed, or a foreign agent with a bag of cash waiting in the wings to supply fun in the sun for a bloated MP. Labour will do its damage, damage that will be difficult to reverse and damage that will blight the UK for a decade. In the mneantime, the Islamic front will carve out its ghettos and the UK will face a crisis of survival, all done under the strain of the EU and USA kicking it when its down. Might be a good thing for the UK to discover the qualities of humility. It wasn't too long ago that the UK tried to bully Canada into an unfair trade deal. In the face of US tariffs and trade barriers, that deal the Tories fumbled, is going to come back and haunt them.
  20. The criticism of Garland speaks volumes about so many who claim they are opposed to the politicization of the judiciary. AG Garland insisted that evidence to supportcharges be obtained first. The process was slow because the AG made sure the process was fair. For this, some Democrats are angry. And many Republicans are angry because he carried out his obligation to prosecute wrongdoing. Biden is allegedly upset over the pursuit of Hunter. Well, again the AG did not interfere and followed the law. My takeaway is that AG Garland is an ethical, and honourable man, sworn to uphold the law and to follow the procedures set out in the law. He did his job, ethically and transparently. The USA needs more honest officials like him, loyal to the US Constitution and diligent in their work.
  21. The first clause of Article II Section 2 of the Constitution provides: “The President … shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.” Rudy's misdeeds are primarily state law violations. He has pulled every legal trick that he could including a bogus bankruptcy filing that was dismissed. The court has had enough of him and his games. Trump cannot protect him. The reality is that he was caught in his lies, lies which put 2 peoples' lives at risk and who sustained lengthy harassment and threats of violence because of Rudy. Now that he is held responsible, he doesn't want to accept responsibility for his malicious and nasty acts. Let him lose his condo. The man squirreled money away and won't go hungry. If anyone is feeling sorry for him, buy his T shirt or his coffee.
  22. Anyone who disagrees with the mob chant is a sheeple. The sheeple are those who join a collective of the uneducated, with the sole motivation their fear and a lack of comprehension of events and science that is too complex for them. It is an illustration of why much of the population is incapable of making intelligent decisions and are doomed to a lower socio economic status.
  23. Oh for sure, you know the secret. You are part of the national resistance and have worked diligently to protect the world form the master plan to enact world domination.
  24. It's because everyone knows that the proponents are mentally ill and a lost cause. They congregate and exchange their demented non scientific nonsensical idiocies. So many of them were begging for the vaccine on their death beds that it became a standing joke in the ICUs.
  25. For sure, because ignorant uneducated buffoons who had no understanding of the technology were so scared and frightened that concocted a parallel universie based upon invented facts. Smarter people exploited their ignorance and sold them various potions and special cures. Even the pollow salesman knew what to do. The really smart people used enemas to ward off Covid. I heard from someone who saw it on the internet, the only way to protect yourself from Covid was is if you give yourself enemas 2-3X a day. You can probably find it on X. You should try enemas. As many as you can handle.
