Not really. The devil is in the detail .Former Trump administration officials such as Mike Pompeo or the decitful Bill Barr are hardly a rousing endorsement. How many command military leaders were there? Not hundreds.

Israel seems to be having a much easier time locating and terminating Hezbollah leaders and commanders than they did with Hamas in Gaza. I have a good hunch, that Israel is getting some help from the Lebanese people. Hezbollah is primarily a shia group, and Shia muslims are about 1/3 of the population. The majority of Syrians killed by Hezbollah in Syria were Sunni muslims. Iran is a shia muslim state. The Sunnis have no love for the Shias. Between the Sunni muslims and the Christians, there are a few eyes and ears paying attention to Hezbollah. Not mentioned in any reports are that the Sunni muslim and Christian districts of Beirut are largely untouched. The Christian cities to the north are untouched as well.

Breast cancer with raised underarm lymph nodes.
Patong2021 replied to The Fugitive's topic in Health and Medicine
The biopsy is done to confirm the imaging diagnosis because sometimes the imaging can be inaccurate. The biopsy can also help identify the type of cancer which allows a more effective treatment. Cancer treatments have made great progress in the past 10 years. Once it involves the lymph nodes it has reached stage 2 or 3 and yes the 5 year survivability is estimated to be 50-85% depending upon the cancer. 10 years ago it was not that good. The takeaway is that if the treatment works, the patient is likely to be alive and active in 5 years time. 5 -10 years is certainly better than a few months. -
Trump's value was largely as a brand. It was a sham. The format was called the Pump and Trump. One of his real estate deceitful deals is detailed here https://www.propublica.org/article/pump-and-trump-the-tampa-files His deals have often been scrutinized for the large number of his partners who have ventured to the very edges of the law, and sometimes beyond. Those associates have included accused money launderers, alleged funders of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard and a felon who slashed someone in the face with a broken margarita glass. Patterns of deceptive practices occurred in a dozen deals across the globe, as the business expanded into international projects, and the Trumps often participated. One common pattern, visible in more than half of those transactions, was a tendency to misstate key sales numbers. In interviews and press conferences, Ivanka Trump gave false sales figures for projects in Mexico’s Baja California ; Panama City, Panama ; Toronto and New York’s SoHo neighborhood . These statements weren’t just the legendary Trump hype; they misled potential buyers about the viability of the developments. Another pattern: Donald Trump repeatedly misled buyers about the amount (or existence) of his ownership in projects in Tampa, Florida; Panama; Baja and elsewhere. For a tower planned in Tampa, for example, Trump told a local paper in 2005 that his ownership would be less than 50 percent: “But it’s a substantial stake. I recently said I’d like to increase my stake but when they’re selling that well they don’t let you do that.” In reality, Trump had no ownership stake in the project. The Trumps often made money even when projects failed. And when they tanked, the Trumps simply ignored the victims. This podcast is a long list of scandals and outlines his pattern of deception. https://www.wnycstudios.org/podcasts/trumpinc/episodes/trump-inc-pump-trump-panama The boxing promotion was for the benefit of his Atlantic City casinos and your attempt to whitewash the involvement of thugs and gangsters is quite brash. Sure there were many celebrities who wanted to take advantage of the freebies. it's how Mr. Epstein attracted Mr trump and how P Diddy managed to host his Freak Out orgies. All good things come to an end once they deceit is exposed. And in reference to your claims of banks financing his property, you are wrong. The banks stopped financing him as they began to realize that the underlying assets had been over stated. There is a reason why his account managers were terminated by the banks and why he could not obtain conventional financing. There is a reason why the Trump internal auditor resigned, saying that 10 years of the company’s financial statements could not be relied upon. Trump now relies on financing from a questionable entity because of his history of financial screwing around. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/trump-organization-used-borrow-major-banks-now-look-lending-money-rcna22068

And so the exodus of quality expats begins. This time it's personal
Patong2021 replied to Galong's topic in Phuket
Having left Phuket years ago, I have visited 2X since then and each time was a great disappointment. I can't go back in time, but to describe the old Karon or Surin Beaches as missed is an understatement. They were once beautiful. Phuket is a textbook case in what not to do in tourism. At some point, the Russians will leave and when that happens, the economy will change again. -
Cannabis-Intoxicated British Man Arrested for Trespassing and Overstay
Patong2021 replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
The story seems a bit embellished. I genuinely feel for this kid. Probably from a one parent family and I doubt that he had an easy life. A 28 year old who ends up in Pattaya can't be doing well. It is hardly a holiday destination of choice for active young people. -
Oh my. So the claims of election fraud by Trump supporters was right. Unfortunately, it was the Trump supporters who were responsible for the fraudulent activity.

Why wouldn't Israelis be happy knowing that the man who is pledged to their death was eliminated? Are you confusing the celebration of the Syrians at Nasrallah's demise? You do know that Hezbollah was directly implicted in the deaths of 500,000 Syrians don't you? You like youtube videos here's one for your enjoyment. Israel will do what it needs to do to defend itself, because people like you are opposed to its existence and are content with its destruction. You are presenting your biased view of the Israeli political situation. The reality is that Netanyahu has put together a coalition government. In excess of 72% of Israeli voters did not vote for Netanyahu's party. His strength is in cobbling together coalitions. Ideally, he would not be there. Unfortunately, previous government policies of appeasement and of withdrawing from buffer zones have achieved little. Israel is not an apartheid state. Calling it one repeatedly will not make it. 21% of Israel's population is Arab and they have all the same legal rights of Israelis, including legal emancipation, and access to health and education. And yes, the people who are responsible for the October 7 massacre are the lowest form of human life. They still hold children as hostages and torment the hostage families with their cruel videos and threats.

Trump Urges Israel to Strike Iran’s Nuclear Facilities
Patong2021 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
You mean like the resolution that recognized the State of Israel that neither Hamas nor Hezbollah accept? You do understand why they chant from the River to the Sea, don't you? It is because they do not accept the existence of the state of Israel. Both are pledged to the destruction of Israel. It is impossible to have peace with people who want you dead no matter what. -
The mighty presence of the USN is present as a deterrent. In case you missed it, the US intercepted some Iranian missiles this week. USS Bulkeley (DDG-84) and USS Cole (DDG-67) fired about a dozen interceptors at Iranian missiles fired at Israel, the Pentagon said last Tuesday. The two destroyers are independently deployed and are in the Eastern Mediterranean. USS Abraham Lincoln CVN-72) is operating in the Gulf of Oman. USS Harry S. Truman (CVN-75) will be on station in the the Eastern Mediterranean. The sad reality is that aside from the tacit support of the UK and indirect support of France, the USA stands alone in protecting the west from Iranian belligerence. Much of the western world cowers in fear. They may have a different position if Iran shuts down oil transport in the Gulf, and oil refineries in the region. I

Are you angry that Israel has managed to defend its people against the missile attacks? Israel has invested in protecting its people and advancing community development. Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas have invested in personal corruption and violence. Yes, many Arabs have died as a result of the war. Perhaps if the Arabs did not locate their munition depots, command and control locations and missile firing sites in large population zones, the casualty count would be lower. Why do you think, Hamas located a munitions depot in a school, or a command center in a hospital basement, or missile firing site in a residential building? There is no such thing as a "civilian" for them. Israeli civilians are targets to be killed or captured. Arab civilians are potential martyrs to be used in a propaganda war. One of the goals is to have as many mass casualty outcomes as possible so that the propaganda can condemn Israel. Perhaps one day you will be as vociferous for the 75,000+ Africans mass murdered in the Darfur by Islamic militias, or maybe even speak out on behalf of the 12 Druze children killed by an intentionally fired Hezbollah missile.

All that you have done is to provide a stinking pile of feces called Trump's business.. OK, so he had his name. on a Tower. Residents of his buildings have sued to remove the name. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/02/22/nyregion/trump-name-removed-buildings.html https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/apr/21/trump-plaza-rename-real-estate-value Trump actually never owned multiple properties. The Trump organization and holding companies owned the properties, although they were heavily financed by financial institutions. Trump did not own the properties in part so that he could minimize his tax obligations. And as the New York state fraud case PROVED, the Trump organization over valued properties in order to obtain financing, which resulted in fraud. Trump gained fame and fortune through the Apprentice and Mark Burnett's star building ability starting in 2004. The first golf course was paid for in large part by the taxpayers of Palm Beach County. Trump used lawfare to settle a land claim issue against the county over MaroLago for $45 million. He then used the money to purchase the land, which was pledged to finance the golf course development. Trump started purchasing failed or failing golf courses in number after 2010. Boxing in the USA has a dirty reputation. Trump tied into boxing to drive revenue at his seedy vulgar casinos, which eventually failed. It is no secret that matches are fixed, the connections to organized crime and the exploitation of poor and subnormal intelligence people well documented. Trump's big pals were Don King and Mike Tyson. A murderer and a thug, says it all. The boxing community as a whole did not have a good opinion of the man and saw him for what he was. https://boxingnewsonline.net/when-donald-trump-ruled-boxing/ Good job on providing examples of the man's questionable morality.

Trump Urges Israel to Strike Iran’s Nuclear Facilities
Patong2021 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Hopefully, Israel does not target Iranian oil facilities or the nuclear sites. Israel cannot take out those nuclear sites on its own, and any attempt will result in mass casualties, which is something Israel does not want. Iran is a nation divided between the haves and the have nots Many of the urban haves are educated and have no animosity to Israel or the west and can see the Iranian mullahs preaching of hate for what it is, a distraction from the evil and the corruption of the Islamic Republic. The Gulf states do not want Israel to hit the oil facilities and they are putting pressure on Israel not to do so. Although they would benefit from increased oil prices, they know Iran would target their oil facilities in retaliation. Russia will welcome any attacks because it makes their oil exports more valuable. -

Did you tell the approx. 700,000 Saudis who are living in the USA? Hate is not a fair assessment of the Saudi views. While it may not be positive, it is not hateful. Saudis are well aware that their freedom from Iran and other radical groups, is because of the willingness of the USA to protect them. They saw what Arab friendship and solidarity was worth when Iraq invaded Kuwait. Arabs are always feuding with someone and it is usually with other regional groups, so the relationship with the USA is no worse than what passes for relations with others. -

Combatants will get killed in a war and these people who Hezbollah describes as "medics" are active service Hezbollah personnel. For example, the Hezbollah controlled Islamic Health Authority said in a statement earlier that seven of its staff, including two medics, were killed in a recent attack on a Beirut "residential" building. What they did not mention is that the building secondary explosions that caused the deaths were due to the munitions stored in the building going off. "Medics" died in the targeted missile strike on the Beirut Hezbollah Intelligence Headquarters. The HQ and medical clinic for Hezbollah personnel were intentionally located in close proximity to Hezbollah personnel residential units. For the sake of propaganda, Hezbollah personnel will wear white helmets and pretend to be "medics". As was demonstrated by Hamas in Gaza, ambulances are used to transport senior Hezbollah commanders. -

The designation of Jerusalem as Israel's capital for some Islamic nations is that they refuse to recognize the state of Israel. For others, it is linked to their positions on the final status of the Palestinian territories. Jerusalem has been documented as the capital of the Israelites since King David designated it the capital city of Israel in 1003 BC, 1613 years before the invention of Islam. Even in 1948, the modern state of Israel incluuded much of Jerusalem. West Jerusalem had been controlled by Jordan who refused access to the Jewish religious sites to the jew despite there being an agreement to do so. Had, Jordan not attacked Israel in 1967, the west Bank and West Jerusalem might still be managed by Jordan. -
Thailand's Cashless Leap: Ahead of the Asean Pack by 2028

And your bitcoin alternative offers no guarantees, no oversight, and no consumer protection. There is a reason why it is favoured by criminal organizations. One is also at the mercy of the financial institutions if one relies on cash. The banks are holding our money and they are the entities which supply the ATMS. Fortunately, your opinion is only popular with a minority of the age 65+ demographic, and Father Time will ensure that the opinion will be addressed appropriately. 😁 I once resisted using a debit card and then credit cards, but then I realized how much easier it was to maintain electronic records and to manage transactions electronically. The only place where I still have to make cash transactions for small transactions is in Thailand. Fortunately, I can do online invoice payments, and pay with debit or credit cards at Lotus, Tops, Villa, upper end and international restaurants restaurants and at international retailers. Even my hired cars to the airport rely on credit card payment. I don't want to walk round with 10-30,000 baht. Ok, so the bank takes a percentage on the credit card transaction, They are being paid for the services rendered to the merchant. The credit and debt cards reduce the exposure to holdup and to cash shortfalls. They reduce the need for manual book keeping and trips to make deposits at the bank. When I go to the ATM I have to pay 200 baht each time. My use of a CC has the cost baked into the retail cost of goods, whether I use the card or not. -
Not at all. Trump has been exposed and documented multiple times as a dishonest man who has abused his subcontractors and tradespeople, refusing to pay them in a timely manner. His multiple failures that included bankruptcies speak to his poor business management skill. He squandered the multi million dollar fortune that his father left him on bad real estate investments. Trump lurched from failure to failure failure until the boy from Essex, Mark Burnett made him a celebrity with the Apprentice series in 2004. Burnett created the image of a successful man. The fact is that if anyone lists all the failures and deceitful acts of Trump to his followers, they refuse to listen and become hostile. Their response when confronted with court verdicts and the hundreds of judgements against Trump is that it is all conspiracy,a creation of an imagined deep state, despite the court cases going back 40+ years.

Why misrepresent. The CNN coverage is extensive. The people who need to read the new charges, won't and don't want to know. They are in denial. It's like what happens when ponzi or pyramid scheme participants are told that they have been participating in a fraud and that not only are they victims, but accomplices too because they recruited other participants. They refuse to accept and then go into a defensive mode. It is only when they suffer personal loss that some begin to realize what happened. However, for many others, they don't get it or blame everyone else for their own stupidity. We see it today with the cryptocurrency schemes that fall apart, like; Quadriga CX, Terra-Luna, FTX, or Metaverse Foreign Exchange (MTFE). It comes as no surprise to some people that Trump is now a supporter of cryptocurrency.

Understood, and no argument from me on this, but, when I was writing, I was thinking of the current "hardwoods" which are not. There's a thread here that lists the woods that I found helpful even if a Laos reference. It's 16 years old, but still helpful.

I know the correct term is manslaughter, but honestly, I consider the actions of the bus owner and operator and all those who allowed the vehicles to operate, to be murder. I wonder how they can sleep at night knowing that the deaths of all those people were because of their actions. At some point maybe they will hear cries of the terrified children screaming in agonizing pain as they were consumed by the flames. This event gets more disgusting and evil with each new discovery of wrongdoing.

Plywood: The comments on the glue and formaldehyde outgassing are so right. Choose wisely. Termites and Wood: Considering the fact that vinyl flooring is going to be applied over an old wood base, the termites (and carpenter ants) can still do their damage, except that you won't find out until the floor starts sagging or collapses. Laminated and or engineered wood Floors: I was never a big fan of laminates, but that was because I was unaware of all the improvements and engineering changes that were made. Today there are glueless products that fit together, and there have been significant improvements in water resistance. The fabrication process can also make the products very insect resistant. Hardwood: I am a fan of hardwood, but we have to be practical. Other than teak, the humidity and the insects make it impractical in most Thai homes. Engineered tile: I am impressed by the new options. I never liked it because it suggested cheap and knock off marble. Well, not anymore. The tiles that have been around for years are not the ugly stuff from years ago. They manage temperature better, are sturdy and cost effective. I had them in a condo I rented and they were decent. I didn't appreciate the type I had in the bathroom as they became slick and dangerously slippery when wet, but the version used in the galley kitchen and living area was well done and gave a warm ambience. In all cases, the subfloor has to be level, properly sealed and supported.
