Thailand Delays Automated Entry System for Foreign Tourists

Why? Legal counsel had a responsibility to defend the accused. It was their moral and legal obligation to do so. The judge applied the law based upon the facts presented in court as was the judge's duty to do so. You are angry because the rule of law was upheld. It is the law that must be changed. The lawyers carried out their duties as they were intended. Your argument is for a society without the rule of law. There are many boats and rafts that are available, donated to the UK through the generosity of new arrivals from France. I suggest that the group you identify be sent on a sea cruise to France using the aforementioned flotilla. They can apply for refugee status. No they did not let them in. Every time the government tried to stop the inflow, Labour, social activists, dogooders and radical unions vociferously opposed effective action. The responsibility of the debacle lies entirely with the people of the UK because they refused to allow the government to take action. The EU is also responsible, encouraging France to facilitate the dumping of the migrants. The people who consistently condemn Brexit, never ever acknowledge how much the EU is responsible for the crisis because of its policy of dumping migrants in the UK.

What is a good sandwich filler? except cheese or ham

Hummus. I really like hummus, especially the varieties that can include roast peppers or eggplant. It is "fattening", but very filling. No need for any condiments since good hummus will be moist. For some added crunch I will put lettuce leaves or bell pepper slices in it. I often do it as a wrap, using the high protein thin wraps that Tops has. -
I did not find the story here to be about Islamic extremism. Rather, it was a story on prejudice. Muslims have consistently been given a pass on prejudice. It's as if their status as a minority group gives them a get out of jail card in life for discrimination against others. At the same time we see a story on Reform and Farage and the intent to rid the Reform party of extremist views. This can be argued to be a balance. To date, we have seen a large number of stories on the racist ignorant mobs who rampaged following the dance school stabbing tragedy. Almost never any mention of the constant mayhem in some muslim dominated districts. The reality is that pasty white British nationalists have not gone on killing sprees in public places. Nor do they descend upon people who look like jews physically assaulting them and demanding their deaths, nor do they attack mosques. It isn't much to cover. Even Tommy Robinson is a bit of a washout since he is rather benign and not particularly violent.

Fair enough. If you are looking for generally unbiased news, try the English language service of DW from Germany. I find that of all the international news sources the Germans are consistently honest and fair in their news reporting. France24 is usually informative, except on middle eastern issues, where it becomes politically correct, perhaps out of deference to the very vocal North African population in France. USA's NPR is also reliable, even though Trump supporters keep calling it left wing. (Which is weird since NPR is funded by multiple family trust charitable donations, families who are often identified as Republican supporters.)

I don't believe that is a fair assessment to call the Russians a heartless people. I counter that the Russian is very much an emotional and big hearted person. Much of its foreign affairs response many times is about maintaining Russian prestige and trying to create respect for Russia. It's a longstanding insecurity and a sensitivity to international ridicule. Look at how the Russians bristle and become defensive when food shortages are mentioned or when their economy's weakness is referenced. Say the same think to Australian or a UK resident, and they will go, crikey, you're telling me, and then add on how much worse it is 😁 Mention a retail line in the USA and you will get a personal tale of woe of how crazy the Costco parking lot can be (and they are always packed. It can be a Madmax undertaking to find parking on a weekend). Do not confuse rudeness, and a lack of decorum as being heartless. Prior to the war, youtube was filled with dashcam videos of vehicular incidents. Because of their heavy presence in Russian vehicles it was a lot of Russian content. Aside from showing Russia having unsafe roads and some crazy drivers (like worse than Thai drivers bad), it showed Russians responding when an incident occurred. They are quick to render help, to go to help an elderly person who falls or to put their lives at risk. Compare that to other cultures where people will walk on by someone injured or in need of help after a car crash. India, Pakistan, Bangladesh are countries notorious for people who will just stop and stare at someone in need of assistance, not rendering assistance. How long until this man has an accident cleaning windows and falls from a building?

Yes, bad for Russia's bloodlust. It is also bad for the Russians who were incinerated. Oh do keep up with the Russian propaganda efforts. You are on "yesterday's news." Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said that Vladmir Putin’ is not really supporting Vice President Harris in the upcoming presidential election: He said Putin was joking. Putin prefers Trump.

Tensions Rise as Israel and Hezbollah Edge Closer to War
Patong2021 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
You are quick to push the blame the USA button aren't you? The US has deployed additional resources to ensure that it can carry out a mass evacuation of approx. 90,000 nationals living in Lebanon. Despite being told to evacuate months ago, these people remain and they expect the US to bring them out. Consider the political fall out if the US did not rescue its nationals in Lebanon. The US government would be accused of prejudice against Arab Americans, and I expect you would be the first to wag your finger. Putting aside the issue of passport holders of convenience and questionable loyalties, a large number do work for US interests or have been taking care of elderly family members or work for international charities. The fact is that they are there and the US government unfortunately has an obligation to help them get out . How would you expect the US to stage an evacuation without having resources available? The last evacuation in 2006 rescued 15,000 US nationals. The US is not alone. Canada has 45,000 passport holders in Lebanon and they are already expressing their views that they expect Canadian taxpayers to again pay to come get them. It cost Canada nearly $100 million to rescue 15,000 nationals in 2006. The UK, France, and Australia are others with the burden of having to rescue their nationals from Lebanon. The USA will be anchoring the international evacuation. Also, the US is there to keep Iran from exacerbating the conflict. Iran has been trying to get a war going for some time. Russia and China would like to distract the west from Russia's invasion of Ukraine and China's territory grab in the South China sea. -

Not as a whole. You are inserting your personal bias as fact. There are nutters in every faith and every political camp who are ignorant and who voice irresponsible positions, Where I previously lived, the Jewish synagogues teamed up with the Christian churches to sponsor Syrian refugees. As I recall, Israel was one of the few middle eastern countries to accept Bosnian muslim refugees. The small number it took in was still far greater than what many muslim countries in the region took. Israel has also taken more Ukrainian refugees than many middle east muslim countries. -
I did some time ago. The claim is based on a manipulated photo of Harris and her ex. This does not even fall into the category of satire or political comment as it is an intentional falsehood.

Perhaps Mr. Lindell incurred brain damage from his days as a cocaine and crack drug addict? It could have impaired his ability to think rationally. It certainly hasn't helped him with some of his fashion choices like his hair color dye.

Mr. Farage is a tad late in condemning the extremists and I do question the sincerity. That being said, he has at least recognized that his party cannot expand and solidify its base if it does not distance itself from violent extremists. It is perceived as the party of angry old white people, and that never bodes well in politics. Reform is not a renewable political movement in the way Labour is, with its links to the well funded unions and urban social activists. The Tories may be down, but they are not out and will rebuild. Farage only has about a year, to change the basis of his party before the Tories start their recovery once the Labour tax grab starts. I keep reading and hearing that there is a difference between muslims and Islamic extremists and it is an avoidance of reality to the point of being offensive. The only difference is that one group acts on its beliefs with violence and the other does not. Even when non muslims are not implicated, muslims stay do not say a word about ongoing mass murder and genocide. The Darfur is currently at risk of another mass genocide as muslim militias hunt down and kill black non muslim Africans. 75,000+ dead and 14 million at risk of starvation, and not one mass protest in the muslim world. As Iran's proxy group the Houthis runs amok in Yemen killing and starving an estimated 250,000 people and Saudi Arabia responded with mass aerial bombardments, not one word of protest from muslims. Where were the street marches in London, the mass campus encampments in Canada and the USA? You raise the issue of the Gaza war. Ok, let's use that as an example. How many muslims protested the attacks of October 7 with its violation of an existing ceasefire, rapes and murders of non combatants and ongoing hostage taking? What muslim nation came out and said the violence was wrong? How many muslims are protesting on behalf of the hostages or protested the recent execution of the 6 hostages? What's your excuse for that silence? Europeans have every reason to be concerned about people who arrive and refuse to integrate or to respect the existing social norms. Why is it other immigrants were able to maintain their cultural practices without demanding that locals change and modify theirs to satisfy their religious and cultural needs?

Please do not consider DIY. The quality is what one would expect for their prices. Everything I purchased within the last few months that I used is either broken, worn out or defective. It's like a Daiso on knock off steroids. I would not chance it on a plumbing fixture. IKEA quality can be a gamble too, but it requires common sense. Stick to the basics and IKEA delivers, but it is not a plumbing fixtures specialist. What I like about Watsudu is the extensive online catalog and the ability to find things in its inventory before going to the location. It's a nice range for basic faucets https://www.thaiwatsadu.com/th/category/ก๊อกน้ำ-|-ฝักบัว-6407 I like Watsadu and don't think you can go wrong. You can pre-order online too. I can happily wander their location for an hour.

New treatment(Psilocybin, Ketamine etc) for depression in LOS
Patong2021 replied to thecyclist's topic in Health and Medicine
Every time there is a a potential use of a drug for a specific type of symptom, it is often presented as having much broader and more effective properties than have been demonstrated. Yes, some types of psychedelic drugs, such as psilocybin have shown the POTENTIAL as therapies for treatment of a small number of patients with very specific manifestations of their illness. To date, the evidence is NOT conclusive. Depression includes a large number of causes, some organic in cause and others behavioural. To date, only two types of depression have been documented to show potential: PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) and drug resistant treatments. The use for PTSD is the least likely to show potential benefit and it is believed that there may be an underlying emotional disorder that is involved, i.e. that the issue is not PTSD itself, rather that the PTSD is a symptom of the underlying issue. More and more psychiatrists are not "coming around". There has long been an openness to consider alternatives to treatment resistant therapies, provided that they are demonstrated as safe and effective. To date, the evidence is not there. If and when the clinical trials show that it helps, then it can become another tool in the treatment of mental illness. Every drug has a side effect. Some are negative, some are positive, but a drug by its very function changes the body's chemistry and impacts the chemical reactions in the body. Psychedelics can be very potent and have the potential for misuse with serious consequences. Learn from the opioid crisis. When Oxycontin was first introduced, it was praised as the ultimate in pain relief. Prescriptions flew off the desk of prescribing physicians. People with chronic pain sang its praises. The rest is history. It wasn't the first time either. We saw it with the use of anxiolytics. Pop a pill and anxiety was "cured". It didn't work out quite that way for some users turning them into emotionless zombies. Psychedelics can only be used for the treatment of a select group of patients because of the adverse reactions that include dizziness, drowsiness, extreme dissociation from reality, panic attacks, and nausea. Giving the drug to patients with a concurrent mental illness like bipolar state or schizophrenia or pre-existing brain damage (e.g. fetal alcohol syndrome) can be deadly to both the patient and to others, provoking an emotional unstable emotional state. How about waiting until; 1. The psychedelic drug benefit is established, and 2. Identifying which illness it is best suited for, before promoting its benefits? -
What information is not reliable? According to you, every western nation who has caught and exposed the Russian disinformation activities is lying. Aside from the US security services and private company reports are the very detailed EU and Canadian reports. Have you read this European documentation? it is a sobering expose of Russian sabotage. https://www.disinfo.eu/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/Doppelganger-1.pdf The main narratives pushed by the disinformation campaign and its agents and enablers are; -the ineffectiveness of sanctions against Russia; - the alleged Russophobia of Western states; - the supposed predominance of Nazi ideology among Ukrainian officials; and - the negative effects of welcoming Ukrainian refugees for European countries. And not surprising, all are common themes in the writings of some people on AN.

Elderly Australian Caught Stealing Vitamin C in Chonburi

The arbitrary fine levied by the store is shocking. If the store has sustained damages, it should file a small claims action. In this case, it has been compensated for its losses and now profits on the wrongdoing. If the shoplifter has done wrong, he should be dealt with accordingly, but merchants should not exploit the situation.- 164 replies
