  1. The August 6, 2022 video this lady is talking about has nothing to do with the live Al Jazeera video showing a failed rocket hitting the hospital parking lot. Note that the hospital itself was not hit.
  2. BBC PHOTO OF THE BLAST AREA Pretty clear that the hospital wasn't hit. Also, no chance 500 people were killed.
  3. Clearly, a misfired rocket landed on the hospital parking lot. How many Palestinisns were killed by this misfire?
  4. Here is the 8 second misfire video again. It is not the same as the August 6, 2022, which shows a missile that maintained thrust as it veered in the wrong direction. This missile loses thrust and drops onto the hospital parking lot. I'm sure some people may have been killed, but the damage was not widespread.
  5. You have been conned. This lady claims she has a screengrab from 2022 showing Ariel Kahana's video of the missile misfire. Note that her "2022" screengrab is labeled "X Twitter". "X" is Twitter's new name. It didn't exist in 2022. The screengrab is from late 2023. Ariel Kahana *did* post a tweet about a misfire in 2022, but its not the same video as the "8 second " video being shown in my post.
  6. this shows the errant rocket, right after launch, it hits the hospital: https://x.com/NetanelWorthy/status/1714382963071234173?s=20
  7. and there's more video:
  8. This video shows the launch of rockets from Gaza, followed by the impact at the hospital: Pretty clear now that Israel did not hit the hospital.
  9. These two Israelis are not officials in the government. They are commenting on breaking news, and they have no special insight into the explosion.
  10. This is very common for women over 40: if they come to my condo overnight, and leave in the morning, they hit me up with a money request within 24 hours. It seems that they go home, and then some financial crisis emerges within a few hours. I would advise them not to come to my condo, then they won't have a financial crisis.
  11. I had a bargirl last night who told me she borrowed 100,000 baht "from the government", and then she lent it to a friend at a high interest rate. The friend never paid her back, and now the government loan is due. Oops. She told me that her son lent her 100,000 baht to pay back the loan.
  12. There is currently a lot of skepticism about science. Some of it is political - if science is politically incorrect, some people can't bring themselves to accept it. By far, the biggest reason for cynicism about science is shoddy media reporting. It's common to see a headline about some major breakthrough, only to never hear about it again. This is usually due to a poorly educated reporter learning the results of a single clinical study, and writing the trope "and this could lead to, one day, the end of xxxx disease, a cure for cancer, aging reversal" whatever. Of course, a single clinical study is,almost worthless, as it might turn out the study was poorly conducted, the sample was flawed, or instruments were malfunctioning. Science usually corrects itself over time, fortunately. One area where this happens all the time is DNA analysis. This technique is great for finding out the father of a specific baby, but almost worthless for understanding human evolution? Remember Mitochondrial Eve? This was the announcement that the founding mother of Homo Sapiens lived 150,000 years ago. Except now, we have found 300,000 year old Homo Sapiens fossils. The problem is that DNA analysis of ancient samples requires researchers to make assumptions. If the assumptions are wrong, the resulta are wrong. So, assigning haplogroups to certain ethnic groups can turn out to be incorrect. Statements like "Haplogroup J11234 evolved in Saudi Arabia 13,400 years ago" can turn out to be totally wrong, when someone finds DNA 20,000 years ago with that haplogroup, in Japan. Again, much science reporting is poor, so don't believe everything you read.
  13. These 1948 refugees would have lived in Egyptian controlled Gaza for 20 years, and thereafter in the Egyptian culture of Gaza. Not the same as the West Bank Palestinians.
  14. Hamas actions represent Gazans, not Palestinians.
  15. Hamas has been actively blocking the Raffa border crossing.
  16. where would refugees *into* Gaza come from?
  17. https://ocasio-cortez.house.gov/media/press-releases/statement-rep-ocasio-cortez-violence-israel-and-palestine "Today is devastating for all those seeking a lasting peace and respect for human rights in Israel and Palestine. I condemn Hamas’ attack in the strongest possible terms. No child and family should ever endure this kind of violence and fear, and this violence will not solve the ongoing oppression and occupation in the region. An immediate ceasefire and de-escalation is urgently needed to save lives.”
  18. Gaza is historically very different from West Bank Palestine. Gazan culture has an affinity with Egypt, having been controlled by Egypt for decades. So, Gaza does not want control from the Palestinian Authority.
  19. To be clear, what you are saying is that some hotels are already booked for High Season?
  20. I have another quick foreign trip soon, and I will report on Immigration when I return.
