  1. Bangkok Bank was down last night, but is working now. Same as Twitter.
  2. Danderman123 replied to bbi1's topic in Pattaya
If you mean U-Tapao airport near Pattaya, it's dead, Jim.
  3. There's always a news story about government plans to invest billions of baht Real Soon Now in UTP airport. New terminals, high speed rail, that sort of thing. But the reality is that UTP is sadly underused, just a handful of flights. Prior to expensive upgrades, they should try to use what already exists. No reason there aren't flights from Pattaya to Isaan.
  4. Bingo. Its pretty obvious she's unhappy with the marriage to a Farang thing and is craving a Thai man. The only wrinkle is the violent behavior. The usual MO is for the Thai lady to stop relations with the Farang, who usually responds by seeing other ladies, then its an amiable divorce with an income stream for the ex-wife. Our guy can just split with the kid, leaving the wife to fend for herself. She will need a few days to find a Thai man to take care of her.
  5. There is clearly some root cause for her behavior. Presumably, she was not acting in this manner prior to marriage. It would seem to be unusual if mental illness just happened to kick in after marriage. Same with drug use, its hard to imagine that she started taking drugs after marriage. It may simply be the case that she has realized that marriage isn't the solution to her problems, and is acting out in response. Having said that, its imperitive that you get out while you still can. Remove yourself, and deal with the consequences later.
  6. I dunno, some ladies can endure decades working bar in Pattaya. Of course, they don't save a dime. One problem is that Thai men are better at extracting cash from ladies than bargirls are from customers. One very experienced lady has a kik in Udon Thani, he sells her cows when he needs money. But the cows stay on his farm and when his Thai girlfriend finally cuts him off from the bargirl, the cows will disappear.
  7. A340s are impossible to sell now. I believe they are parked at Don Meaung and U-Tapao. The idea was to use them for direct flights to the US, but Thai lost their FAA registration.
  8. I should amend an earlier observation: Bargirls will walk ahead of you, even if they have no idea where they are going. But ... If they are 40+, they will walk behind you. Perhaps that is true of Thai women in general.
  9. I have no idea about the political beliefs of recently deceased Thais. I would suspect that they would vaccinate, if given another chance.
  10. Once again, the more people are vaccinated, the fewer are infected, and therefore the virus evolves more slowly. The anti-vaxxers are in denial that they are keeping the virus alive.
  11. If you are vaccinated with annual boosters, you are less likely to get infected and pass on the infection to others.
  12. I hope you understand that many anti-Vaxxers had the opposite happen to them - their vaccinated family members beat Covid, but they died.
  13. And when the anti-Vaxxer gets infected, they are much more infectious than those who are immunized, so they pass it on to more people.
  14. When those diseases kill a million people in a year.....
  15. There you go again. It would be great if you could invent new tropes, rather than just recycling "I don't care if granny dies as long as the bars stay open".
  16. Actually, Delta was deadlier than the preceding Beta.
  17. Just like with Covid-19, any dangerous infectious disease must be treated with care. Not even idiots get careless about rabies or leprosy or bubonic plague. It just happens that people get careless about Covid-19 due to political reasons. it only takes an annual booster shot to help stop the spread of the disease.
  18. I was simply providing examples of infectious diseases that were effectively suppressed via immunization. There never was an opinion expressed by me that these divergent illnesses were somehow related to Covid-19.
  19. And yet we have seen Covid a few times evolve into fairly nasty variants in just the last 3 years. It's almost as if you are ignoring reality because it conflicts with your worldview.
  20. I guess the millions who died were deluded about the seriousness of Covid.
  21. Let's start with the most basic concept: If the R number for any infectious disease drops below 0 in a population, the disease will disappear in that population. Right?
  22. I wish you could guarantee that. Mutations are random. If Covid could mutate into a more deadly form that was also infectious, you would be in big trouble.
  23. This is kind of a self fulfilling prophecy, which boils down to: "Covid will never disappear because I will never get vaccinated".
  24. We're back to the inability of anti-vaxxers to understand that some protection is better than no protection. This isn't a flaw in medical science, it's a cognitive problem on the part of anti-vaxxers.
