  1. That they are not realistic. Also, my question to you was how Israel should tackle things - even your 'suggestions' are mostly stuff Israel could not do or even decide on by itself.
  2. This is not correct, and was discussed on previous posts. Gazans in the sense you imply are a minority in the Gaza Strip, and had been for generations.
  3. Sure, because all Jews are the same. Except Chomsky, maybe. Eh? Independent investigation. In a war zone. Hours after events unfolded. Any other bogus 'requests'?
  4. Well, maybe one day the two Palestinian leaderships would come to an agreement and allow their people the joy of general elections. Not holding my breath.
  5. So everyone is wrong but you, the Palestinians and Iran? And it's not just 'the West'. Most countries in the World have relations with Israel. Fact and reality don't seem to matter much, eh?
  6. A weak retort would be going on and on about Chomsky, without being able to articulate a coherent, and fact based comment on topic.
  7. You can keep calling Israel a 'terrorist state', if makes you feel warm inside. The reality is that most countries in the World do not share your extreme point of view, probably including your own home country. Is the Palestinian Authority also 'terrorist'? After all, they had Arafat at the helm, and many of the other officials (to this day) are from similar stock. Or is this label applied only to countries and people you don't like?
  8. IDF tells Gaza residents to leave northern Strip using evacuation corridors from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/idf-tells-gaza-residents-to-leave-northern-strip-using-evacuation-corridors-from-10-a-m-to-4-p-m/
  9. So far, it actually seems to be getting alone better than expected. The evacuation, that is. Mind, we're not talking about very long distances here. In some instance it can be done on foot. Ethnic cleansing would be what Hamas wishes for, when it calls on civilians to stay put.
  10. You state a whole lot of assertions as facts and reality, without basing them on anything much or providing the least support. That's without the factual inaccuracies which pepper all your comments.
  11. There are now reports (in Arabic, sorry - will update if I see a decent English version) the IDF announced safe passage south along two main roads, from 10:00-16:00. Urging civilians to evacuate again.
  12. Israel's 'siege' on the Gaza Strip is directly tied to Hamas actions and agenda. Similar restrictions are applied by Egypt on their side of the border.
  13. IDF says head of Hamas’s aerial forces killed in overnight Gaza strike https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/idf-says-head-of-hamass-aerial-forces-killed-in-overnight-gaza-strike/
  14. How would you suggest Israel address the situation created by Hamas? Realistically, that is. No fantasy stuff, please.
  15. They are one people, fine. They are also experiencing years of political division among themselves. You want to deny or ignore this, go right ahead.
  16. The so-called Palestinian 'resistance', brought them nothing but further misery and hardship - how can it be called constructive? As for the waffle about 'working hard to produce a highly educated generation' and so on - maybe in some fantasy world. Generally speaking there aren't that many Palestinian who are at the forefront of academic and scientific disciplines, none of their academic institution is associated with 'excelling'. As for the last part - presenting the Palestinians as 'ready and willing' to make peace is plainly counterfactual. The Hamas itself rejects the notion, just to point out the obvious. I've no idea were you picked this nonsense from, honestly.
  17. Being a political activist is not much of a credential. It denotes position, not superior understanding. Regardless, even if you want to idolize Chomsky, you ought to make your arguments by yourself.
  18. Since there are a lot of 'hateful 8' references..... Quentin Tarantino Supports Soldiers at Base in Southern Israel https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/quentin-tarantino-supports-soldiers-at-base-in-southern-israel/ar-AA1ibwQP
  19. Hamas won the last general Palestinian elections (that was years ago). It routinely enjoys mass support among Palestinians, both on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
  20. Try and address the points made instead of name dropping. And, being a Jew doesn't necessarily gives one special insight into matters at hand. Chomsky is a fine scholar, but when it comes to geo-politics, it's not like his opinion is gospel or anything. How about trying to answer with your own words and ideas?
  21. And your point is? The Irgun was not quite mainstream, and did not enjoy mass popular support they way Hamas does. Also, shortly after independence, it was dismantled. On the other hand, even during Palestinian reconciliation talks, Hamas staunchly refused to let go of arms, disband military wing etc. Shamir was elected Prime Minister many years after events unfolded. Not unusual exactly. Israel put up with Arafat heading the PA, as well.
  22. Israel did not accept it. The Palestinian Authority was basically coerced into going along with it. Hamas 'responded' by carrying out a major bomb attack killing some 30 Israeli citizens. It's a good basis for negotiations, and a shame Israel did not take the opportunity to engage the Arab World (even if nothing would have come out of it). Today, the geo-political situation changed to a degree that it's much harder to see it going forward, or endorsed.
