  1. Other than in your imagination and your post Israel is not a 'terrorist state'. Most countries in the World maintain relations with it, and many governments expressed support after the Hamas attack. Australia included. Israel does not get billions in aid and support from the 'Western world'. It specifically gets annual military aid budget from the USA (which is in effect a sort of Buy American coupon, and goes back to USA economy). But go on about lies...by all means. From your 'account' of the peace process one could almost believe that the Palestinians were ready and willing, reaching out their hands to Israel, only to be spurned. Most everyone halfway familiar with things will laugh at that. Takes two to tango.
  2. There are no reliable news outlets claiming Israel deliberately targets civilians. There are plenty of reliable news outlets reporting Hamas deliberately targeted civilians.
  3. Well, with regard to the monies, I'll have to disagree with what I see as a weak argument, which there's no concrete way of supporting. The current administration's ME policy had to contend with Trump's legacy - renovations and salvage work at progress, is my take, and during a storm to boot. It's better, IMO, than Trump's in the sense that it's more constant. Trump's was unpredictable, which regardless of what some might think, is not usually a good thing. See his recent comments on the situation at hand, for example. I was for the Abraham Accords, without exaggerating their significance.
  4. AQ and IS. Maybe not eradicated, but certainly keeping their heads down for some time now. If the notion is, as many poster opine, that peace is not on the cards, then the next best things is containment. Even a temporary one. Seriously curbing capabilities, funds and infrastructure is a start. Also it is not all Palestinians, and not even all Gazans supporting Hamas. Mass support, yes, but not a wall to wall thing. I have no doubts that many among the Palestinians (especially in the Gaza Strip) are also critical of Hamas bringing this on their heads. Doesn't make them into Israel lovers, of course, but to assume that Hamas will forever retain public support is not a given. There was always some criticism leveled against Hamas leadership taking care of their own safety while the people of the Gaza Strip are treated as expendables. With the current situation, this will even get more traction - what with Hamas leader urging Gazans to face the Israeli Army, from a luxury hotel in the Gulf.
  5. Some aspects of international law are indeed routinely ignored by Israel, some are not. When it comes to such attacks on Hamas, in the Gaza Strip, Israel is generally on firmer ground (legally). The current circumstances created a situation where Israel is even more willing to ignore such legal restrictions, So far this did not go beyond things that were done before, just on a larger scale.
  6. Do you see calling civilians to stay in harm's way as a worthy moral position? And as per your last paragraph, it would seem that many, if not most of the civilians in question are not that enthusiastic about dying for the cause. Of course, much easier to cheer for that from afar.
  7. I have my own opinions, no need or much use for hers. My comment was that, generally, she's not credible.
  8. No, my position was limited to the relevance of the funds 'released' to the recent attack. I have no idea what, exactly, the 'released' funds will be used for. I don't think that they will be specifically allocated to one thing (as in, all being used for terrorism etc.). Presenting it like that is misleading. You're overestimating how much this attack should have cost, it's speck on Iran's national budget. I don't know how 'friendly' comes into it. American foreign policy is about interests. IMO, USA interests were not positively served by Trump's policies in the ME (and Israel's as well).
  9. The salient point would be whether they are deliberately targeted or not. The Hamas attack obviously did. Israel's bombing attacks, while carrying a high death toll, are not quite the same. The opposite of this, by the way, would indiscriminate fire at civilians (as in Hamas rocket launches), again - Israel's bombing attacks do not fall under this category. To add, Hamas digs in among civilian population (not to mention calling them to remain in place, or trying to prevent them from evacuating) this too can be an infraction. International law about these things is not quite what people expect, sometimes. Unfair, perhaps, tilted to favor more advanced nations, but it is what it is.
  10. Prunes are good for that, I hear.
  11. The poster I replied to link a clip featuring her. Carpet bombing the Gaza Strip? When did that happen? Carpet bombing is not what you now see on the news from there.
  12. You're welcome to stop responding to my posts or put me on ignore. You won't hurt my feelings.
  13. You are grasping at straws. This was planned long ago. There would be no reliance of funds that might or might not be released in the future. And anyway, there was no need for the 'released' funds in order to carry out the attack. I don't think Biden is a great President, so 'concede' doesn't come into it. Not sure why you think that addressing a specific point related to the topic implies all-things-Biden must be addressed as well.
  14. He's not ignoring them. There are links posted on at least one the parallel topic discussing negotiations between the USA, Egypt and Israel to that effect. Israel borders were not closed, commercial flights to the USA available. More nonsense and misinformation out of you.
  15. Wheeler is a dodgy far right character. More than one instance of false comments and reporting. Some would recall her from Covid-19 related nonsense reporting and views. I'm sure that you could make your case without relying on her words.
  16. I did not 'forget' (and actually discussed this on parallel and past topics). It is simply immaterial to the comments made. If someone wishes to say 'the Muslims' (as in implying all Muslims) have no interest in this, then he'd have to show all Muslim nations (or even people) are/were against it. Basically, quite opposite to what you just posted above. Not sure if your failure to grasp this is language related or agenda based, but anyway, you are incorrect.
  17. As said, I don't think that the funding required for this attack presented much of an issue. It's basically a low cost operation. Well within Hamas means, and surely, Iran's. Hamas is not solely or even mainly dependent on funding from Iran. That Hamas takes a cut out of almost every money that comes into the Gaza Strip is a given. I think this whole Biden-gave-the-money-that-funded-the-attack angle is nonsense.
  18. I'm not sure Hamas currently controls anything much, other than it's bunkers and whatnot. Seems like chaos reigns down there. How could they effectively control it anyway? If they'd show up in force, they'll be targeted by the IAF. This goes back to comments made earlier, about them not having set provision for this emergency (as usual), at the expense of their own people (plus foreigners).
  19. I have, actually. And even if I wouldn't have my comment would be correct. It was essentially a two-state peace offer made by Arab nations, overwhelmingly comprised and let by Muslims. Real easy stuff.
  20. U.S. Push to Evacuate Americans From Gaza Falters Amid Egyptian Demands https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/us-makes-diplomatic-push-to-evacuate-americans-from-gaza/ar-AA1icEpO An article that covers some of the things mentioned in my previous post.
  21. Read the original broad brush post I replied to. Read my comment. It's simple. Making unqualified generalizations is often wrong.
  22. Yawn. Obviously, other posters are entitled to their views. The same way I'm entitled to disagree with them. Doubt you didn't get it even before your original comment. You've posted inaccurate, untrue stuff yourself, not to mention nonsense posts. Your issue with 'misinformation masquerading as truth' is quite obviously one sided.
