  1. No, he wouldn't be considered a 'terrorist'. He's be treated pretty much as the Thai police treated him.
  2. I never claimed so and this was not my intention. People, when stressed and on drugs, do a whole lot of stupid things. This is getting a whole lot of attention because of the current situation, but frankly, such incidents occur at least on a weekly basis in Thailand.
  3. You are probably not aware, of ignoring, the fact that Israel does have a peace movement, that there are Israeli pro-Palestinian right groups, newspaper columnists regularly broadcasting the Palestinian point of view etc. You've no idea what this guy's politics are. Painting all Israelis with the same brush is a choice, not an even remotely accurate reality.
  4. If you put posters on ignore anyway (I've no doubt you can't resist taking a pick, though), what's the point of broadcasting it?
  5. As far as I'm aware, it was only Thai government officials talking about evacuating all Thai workers from Israel. The number of Thai workers which actually asked to be evacuated is a little over 1000.
  6. Foreign airlines (not many) continue to fly to Israel, as we post. Among them is Emirates. Check your facts before posting misinformation. Thai airways flights to Israel are usually code-shared with El-Al anyway.
  7. Out of touch with reality. This is not about Israel's security 'concerns'. This is about hundreds of Israeli civilians killed at their homes, which he didn't bother to mention. Or the hostages, guess that slipped his mind as well.
  8. Could be he just learned some of his family and friends were killed? Could be many things. Who knows. Guess they'll clean him up, and kick him back to Israel. Embassy is sure to handle this.
  9. @Jeff the Chef He's a diplomat and a demagogue. Not to mention a whiner. Palestinians haven't faced wholesale slaughter like the recent Hamas attack for many many years. Most Palestinians do not get bombed by the IDF. This almost always is tied with Hamas actions, and is confined to the Gaza Strip. The guy represents the PA, anyway....
  10. Will Chinese expats and tourist be allowed entry?
  11. Fighting the Southern insurgency requires submarines?
  12. Or the price was inflated in order to get a larger commission.
  13. That's a worry, sure. But maybe the idea that Hamas is a lesser evil, or that it can be dealt with, is out the window. It was more of a problem a few years ago when IS and AQ were on the scene in the Sinai Peninsula. Current reports are chiming Hamas, but the attack also target the other militant contender, Islamic Jihad. Maybe there's not a whole lot of thinking about the day after, at this point.
  14. If previous fighting rounds are used as reference, the answer is yes. Often, they do.
  15. Prepare how? They do not invest in bomb shelters for the populace. From a cynical propaganda point of view, each dead Palestinian is a boon.
  16. I think a whole lot of Israelis have experience doing just that, every time Hamas chooses to launch rockets at them.
  17. More 75 years occupation misleading nonsense? Give it a rest. Israel did without US support up until the mid-60's. The US did not help Israel during the 1948 war, for example.
  18. The attack was planned a long time ago. I would guess that as with any operation, plans would have been modified all the time. As far as I understand this wasn't some underground party, so no secret. Considering the number of assailants evident from clips and testimonies, I'd say it was not a coincidence. As for the crowd, it doesn't exactly work like that, no. Not in an 'official' venue' like this, anyway.
  19. So why don't the Palestinian put a stop to it by not killing Israelis?
  20. Many would, yes. It would, of course, depend on what you lump under the 'respect' label. Does it include a river-to-the-sea clause?
  21. Israel did not murder Rabin. Political opponents this this. Countries often have differing political views among the populace.
  22. Most Palestinians have not been under Israeli rule, or occupation for 75. Citing 75 years would imply you issue is not with the occupation, but with Israel's existence. The West Bank and the Gaza Strip were taken by Israel in 1967, not 1948. Up until then, the Palestinians in the West Bank under Jordanian rule, while Egypt controlled the Gaza Strip. If you think they were totally benign, you can believe whatever. And even so, it was not always that harsh of an occupation, and obviously there are differences between how Palestinian are treated and how they fare - in the Gaza Strip, in the West Bank, those who are citizens of Israel (or residents in Jerusalem), also those Palestinian in the diaspora all over the Middle East. It's not like they all face the same conditions as in the Gaza Strip. And the Gaza Strip Palestinians face a harsher treatment due to Hamas's actions, agenda and choices. I doubt most Palestinian citizens of Israel would happily relocate to live under Hamas (or even PA) rule - even if it was as a free Palestinian State. Reap what you sow, is exactly what's happening right now in the Gaza Strip.
  23. Eradicating Israel is a goal that the Hamas does not deny. Iran also often issues statements to that effect.
  24. Hamas instigated this attack. It was not a reaction to anything current or specific. It was a long time in the making. Took months, maybe more, to plan and train for. Israel can do a whole lot of things, but it cannot come in place of Palestinian leadership.
  25. No. People who make antisemitic remarks are called out. Criticizing Israel is quite fine, without crossing that line. Plenty of Israelis critic their government every day. Hell, for the past 9 months there were constant mass protests against the government.
