Beyond Karon Resort? There is construction going on right next door, so their pool is really noisy. That could be the reason for the cheap prices now and an increase when the construction has finished.

That referred to non domestic cases and was never a hard limit.

As long as they entered under the sandbox scheme. Ordinary domestic tourists are not allowed in.

Attempts to Restore Tourists’ Confidence in Phuket
stevenl replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Diving tours are not closed, running every day. But yes, limited to Phuket province sites at the moment, so no trips to phi phi. And yes, it is a necessary cautious start, totally agree. -
How will that help if you do get checked?
-
From your earlier post. "you cannot book with any travel website like Agoda. It has to be direct with the hotel as they have to issue you a certificate with registration number needed for the COE application)," All will accept Agoda booking, they will not even know you booked via Agoda, since you'll receive your SHA+ code from the hotel.
-
You should have told Agoda and you would have received your Sha+code. Your statement that booking for sandbox via Agoda is not possible is simply not true.
-
When I arrived I didn't see any officials there, no one was getting checked.

Foreign woman rescued from dangerous Phuket surf

Maybe tell the many surfers that are here in summer that they're here at the wrong time of the year. -
Some of the things you mention are not correct. In my case CoE process took 3 days, passport with 6 months validity will depend on country of origin, in stead of visa also visa exempt entry is possible (if qualified), you can book with Agoda and booking.com etc., PCR tests can now be booked via (I think) PSAS,

My experience is that with the internetproviders here you will need a VPN or you'll be blocked very soon. Only exception is 3BB, who only very rarely block, and if they do just for a short period of time. I am using SurfShark, the cheapest one I could find. In general a VPN will lead to a reduction in speed. I'll send you the phonenumber of the guy I'm using via PM.

I Moved away from HD Prime due to consistent buffering issues and no helpdesk to speak of. I have now an excellent package, don't want to mention a name here, for 100 GBP a year, Ultimate with many channels, all sports I can think off, all languages, and support.

Are you using a VPN?

Sandbox requires PCR testing, this is for antigen test positive only.

From your link "The European Medicines Agency’s approval for AstraZeneca’s Covid-19 vaccine does not cover AstraZeneca doses made by South Korea, Thailand, or Japan that supply Malaysia.". -
Phuket welcomes first flight from Hong Kong under ‘Sandbox’ programme

You are told to stay in your room till test result is in, would you expect them to lock the door or put police outside? I see no one without masks. People have to take their own responsibility. -
is the Sandbox scheme still available? and a few other questions...
stevenl replied to bluebird729's topic in Phuket
I think as a start of returning tourism to Thailand it is far from a failure, but will need improvements. -

What may also be important here is that the Thailand produced astra vaccines are not (yet) recognized in the EU. -

I am asking you to show why it is a failure, nowhere am I saying it is a success. Please don't twist what I'm saying.
