US midterms: Republicans narrowly win back the House
SunnyinBangrak replied to Scott's topic in World News
I don't care about him. He is an irrelevance(other than proving the left really are above the law - the evidence of felony firearms crimes which he admitted to in his book and the refusal of the DOJ to press charges in the years since confirms this 100%). What we really need to do, and do it ASAP is to upend the ridiculous narrative that the Chinese and Ukrainians paid Hunter Biden(who's father was VP) 10s of millions of dollars for absolutely no reason whatsoever. To be forced to accept they did not get any benefit from the expenditure, nor they expect or hope to benefit from the spending is farcical. As someone who has had business experience with rich Chinese, they just do not throw away money like that. Let's get Jim Jordan on the case and blow this false narrative up once and for all. Well done the GOP, this will be EPIC. -
Former President Donald Trump files to run in 2024
SunnyinBangrak replied to Scott's topic in World News
It is clear the left will not allow a Trump presidency, I'm also not sure they will allow a DeSantis presidency. In my mind this attitude is dangerous to democracy, as normally elections are used to determine who governs. -

If you are claiming that a world teetering on the precipice of nuclear armaggeddon is preferable to an unprecedented 4 years of world peace, well we are in disagreement. Remember when the left said a Trump presidency could cause a nuclear war(1), and here we are!! Other noteworthy international events under Biden would include the Afghan disaster when poor people were clinging to planes as they were taking off. Great stuff! More experienced Presidents, more chaos please!! sources for claims made (1)https://thediplomat.com/2016/11/could-trump-actually-start-a-nuclear-war/ https://www.vox.com/world/2017/11/17/16656856/trump-congress-nuclear-weapons-war https://www.businessinsider.com/biden-interrupts-reporter-who-asks-about-afghans-clinging-planes-2021-8 -
If you are referring to his heroic efforts to stop predators(of all alphabet and non alphabet persuasions) from preying on young and vulnerable school children, then it is a gross mischaracterization to claim he wants to "stop drag queen story hours". No idea why protecting children would cause such a barrage of fake news and histrionics.

Dare I interrupt this little flight of fantasy to ask for some sort of credible citation to prove your (very very false) assertion that DeSantis wants to replace democracy with theocracy? It is the 2nd such false statement made this morning concerning the GOP having implemented some sort of Christian Sharia law for the USA - the other concerning the Supreme court using some sort of Christian law that supersedes the constitution. Again, while I accept it may be a popular theme of the left it is totally untrue. Moreover, you know it to be false, so why bother with these false claims?

Who are these "election deniers" that you post of daily? Are they only in the GOP? If they are in both parties and include president biden would constantly implying that all "election deniers" are in the GOP be an example of misinformation/disinformation? I did not witness any authoritarian moves from Trump. Can you give specific things he actually did that were authoritarian? Nothing brazen like the current admin trying to create a ministry of truth headed up by a notorious liar and conspiracy theorist to make sure only false narratives that suit the democrat party are allowed to flourish online. This was the single biggest display of fascism in our lives. Luckily it failed, temporarily. https://nypost.com/2022/05/18/good-riddance-to-the-ministry-of-truth-nina-jankowicz/

Not much evidence of the open southern border Lake spoke of? I suppose out of frame there will be an official checking passports and stamping the news arrivals in. Because the southern border being open is a "conspiracy theory". If the millions of photos do not constitute "direct evidence" then clearly nothing will. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/10/22/us/politics/border-crossings-immigration-record-high.html I will always have an issue with being forced to pretend something does not exist, contrary to factual evidence, merely because it does not promote the democrat parties interests.

A day of chaos brings Twitter closer to the brink
SunnyinBangrak replied to Scott's topic in World News
I suspect Musk is acting like Twitter is going to go bust to stop the avalanche of hatred and scrutiny he would face if he fired thousands of workers for financial reasons. We can see how Musk is held to a completely different standard than other "woke" tech companies. Just look at Zuckerberg and Facebook who also need to axe thousands of workers. How does the media phrase that situation? https://aseannow.com/topic/1277119-facebook-owner-meta-expected-to-announce-major-job-losses/ Job losses? Oh too bad, poor Mark. Sounds like he really tried to save them but alas it was too difficult for the guy. Not his fault anyway. Yet when Musk needs to get rid of the dead wood and excess staff he is of course a monster. Did Musk fight to save the precious workers jobs like Mark did? Did he heck, he FIRED them and his company is "roiling in hate speech". Bad bad Elon Musk. https://aseannow.com/topic/1276061-elon-musk-reportedly-fires-top-twitter-executives-as-he-takes-over-company/page/4/ If you consider Twitter workers probably average $100k salary, firing 3,000 of them makes quite a difference. And as for the claims Musk fired workers then -because he is so dumb - he had to try hiring them back, which the left wing msm went all-in over, it is clearly to hire them back on proper work contracts ie turn up at the office and put this many hours in or you're sacked. Basic common sense. -
The dishonest framing here is almost unbearable. We have, right now, an election denier who is President. "On Tuesday, Biden struck back at Trump. After a woman claimed she had a "very severe case of what's called Trump Derangement Syndrome," and that Trump is an "illegitimate president in my mind," Biden responded: "I absolutely agree." https://www.insider.com/joe-biden-says-he-agrees-trump-is-illegitimate-president-2019-5 So why do the BBC use the phrase in the title to give the impression that only certain Republicans have denied election results, while the good people, the democrats would always accept and respect results. It is not true. Democrats have denied elections just as much as the GOP. Why can't media outlets at least try and be honest and fair? Good luck to Ms Lake, if the votes ever get counted. I think Florida should be in charge of counting all ballots nationwide in 2024 seeing as some states just can't do it.
-
Is this another false claim like your don't say gay bill which didn't say (or mean) gay? Any chance of a credible link that shows DeSantis genuinely doing wrong to LGBT just because they are LGBT? And how is the false claim meaning DeSantis is like Putin? IIRC DeSantis made a huge effort to stop vulnerable Florida children getting sexualized and groomed by predators. Predators of all shapes, colors and varieties. Something we should all be supporting.

Just spin, pure and simple. They have no choice and the tame msm outlets are only too happy to brown nose with this silly celebratory theme. If they accept that probably losing the house and maybe also the senate is bad( it is!!) then they have to dump biden, but they have absolutely nobody to replace him.

US midterm elections: What's happened to economy under Biden?
SunnyinBangrak replied to Scott's topic in World News
Why are the left taking victory laps and celebrating their performance when neither results are in? Do they know something the rest of us don't? It looks like they will lose the house, how is that a Yeehaw moment? -
US midterms: Why a Republican 'wave' never happened
SunnyinBangrak replied to Scott's topic in World News
"While Democrats' views have darkened this year, they tend to remain more positive than Republicans and independents, ranking such economic concerns behind other issues, such as climate change, racism and abortion." I expect with a GOP house, and a move away from hysterical and hypocritical "election denier" and "big lie" talking points and more towards reality based narratives concerning foreign corrupt adventures and whether a Presidents family should be in business with the Chinese communist party, whether we should be sending open checks to a country that was supposed to have a dangerous nazi problem, disastrous inflation and the economy the public perception will change. Imaginary foes may make a great diversion but with Pelosi gone so will her irrelevant alarmist narratives. Good riddance. -
from your own apnews link - "CLAIM: Voters on Tuesday faced a minimum two-hour wait time at most voting sites in Maricopa County. THE FACTS: The county responded to this claim, saying it’s inaccurate. And as of midday Tuesday, nearly half of Maricopa County’s 223 voting centers reported no waits, The Associated Press reported. Some voters in the Phoenix suburb Anthem had reported waiting several hours to be able to vote, with only one of two tabulators there working. By 1:30 p.m., the Anthem location had a wait of about an hour." So as per apnews some Phoenix voters reported waiting SEVERAL HOURS which was due to issues with 20% of the tabulating machines. apnews is particularly dishonest here by making a silly claim about "MOST" voting sites in Maricopa. Nobody said MOST voting sites, yet they do this so they can partly debunk the false claim, which they just made up to be able to do this - SNopes do this all the time too, something like Trump claimed Bidens DOJ raided his home in the middle of the night while Trump was wearing fluffy pink slippers. VERDICT partly false. While his home was raided at night like he said, there is no evidence he was wearing fluffy pink slippers. A dirty trick by factcheckers to watch out for.

I'll go ahead and put it in capitals for you. WITH AERIAL VIDEO SHOWING LINES WRAPPED AROUND BUILDINGS IN THE PHOENIX AREA I could care less what desperate spin msm puts on it, video showing huge queues of waiting voters is more credible evidence than some partisan opinion piece in an media outlet that is having a dreadful day.
-
20% of the perfect counting machines(to question anything about them could see you banned from social media and worse because they never could malfunction) being broken(raises an eyebrow) could conceivably cause delay, long queues and confusion, much better to simply extend hours. Right? "Some voters also had to wait hours to cast their ballots at polling places because only one of two tabulators were working, with aerial video showing lines wrapped around buildings in the Phoenix area. “We’d like to apologize to voters who were inconvenienced by some of the things that occurred today,” Gates said. “No one was disenfranchised today.” https://www.azfamily.com/2022/11/08/tabulation-problems-reported-maricopa-county-election-officials-assure-votes-will-be-counted/ who said no one was disenfranchised? Waiting hours in the Az sun would be an issue for some. Best play fair and extend hours to vote.

If Reagan was alive I think we'd wheel him out. As it stands only Bush is alive, and his whole military-industrial complex theme has been well and truly left behind by the Republican party - we are now a party of diplomacy and peace. Liz Cheney and Bush are much more closely aligned with the Democrats these days. The pair would be booed off any proper Republican stage. They would have loved the wild and woolly Ukraine spending though.

Twitter: Elon Musk blames 'activist groups' for earnings drop
SunnyinBangrak replied to Scott's topic in World News
Massive clustermuck hey?? Sounds like Musk played a blinder here and is laughing all the way to the bank - despite earlier reports to the contrary. "Since Musk’s dramatic takeover, Twitter’s monetizable daily user (mDAU) growth has accelerated to more than 20 percent, while “Twitter’s largest market, the US, is growing even more quickly,” according to an internal FAQ obtained by The Verge that was shared with Twitter’s sales team on Monday to use in conversations with advertisers. Per the FAQ, Twitter has added more than 15 million mDAUs, “crossing the quarter billion mark” since the end of the second quarter, when it stopped reporting financials as a public company." https://www.theverge.com/2022/11/7/23445476/elon-musk-twitter-user-growth-all-time-high-advertisers -
Despite the false bravado and nonchalance, I'm guessing the democrats pushing Musk over to the GOP side will be causing some angst behind closed doors. Of all the people the left hounded and abused, Musk will be the costliest for them. He voted for Clinton and Biden, and now he had to leave the "extreme" democrat party, just as he bought the digital town square. Ouch "Musk voted for Hillary Clinton in the 2016 U.S. presidential election and voted for Joe Biden in the 2020 U.S. presidential election. In May 2022, Musk said that he could "no longer support" the Democrats and would be voting Republican instead due to Biden's support for unions and his inability to "get a lot done". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Views_of_Elon_Musk#:~:text=Musk voted for Hillary Clinton,"get a lot done".

US midterm elections: What's happened to economy under Biden?
SunnyinBangrak replied to Scott's topic in World News
"Stumping for embattled New York Gov. Kathy Hochul at Sarah Lawrence College in Yonkers Sunday, the President responded to a shouted question from an audience member about his longstanding promises to shut down fracking and new drilling on federal lands and waters by saying “no more drilling...there is no more drilling...I haven’t formed any new drilling.” https://www.forbes.com/sites/davidblackmon/2022/11/07/biden-promises-no-more-drilling-just-days-after-demanding-more-drilling/?sh=5bf1b22c78e7 Yes it seems he is well and truly lost. Shutting down coal production and drilling for oil would be absolutely disastrous for the economy. But does he know what he is saying? Is he saying what he means to say? It is very annoying waiting for left wing msm to say, Oh actually he didn't mean that, he meant........ -
Biden suggests voting for Republicans is a threat to democracy
SunnyinBangrak replied to onthedarkside's topic in World News
Seeing as this is supposed to be a thread about BIDEN, let's have some BIDEN casting doubt on midterm results. Here we are! "During Wednesday’s White House news conference, Biden stunned viewers by saying the results this November “easily could be illegitimate” and adding “I’m not going to say it’s going to be legit” — seeming to parrot Trump’s claims that Democrats said irresponsibly undermined faith in US democracy." https://nypost.com/2022/01/21/psaki-tries-to-explain-why-biden-cast-doubt-on-midterm-election-legitimacy/ I wonder if a sitting President casting doubt on electoral integrity is good for democracy? What say the Biden bros?
