Widely accepted may have been easily checked in the past, but nowadays anything Googled pulls results that are all the same and blocks anything that differs. So if the checks are web based, I wouldn't necessarily go with the majority. Anytime anyone says "Provide a link" I shake my head in dismay at the sheeplike acceptance of a Google search. -

The most important thing to consider is the future. If there is a possibility that ye may one day wish to settle in the UK and go the citizenship route, then under no circumstances lie on a tourist visa application. You may get away with it if the checks for a tourist visa are not thorough. But they will be thorough for a future Citizen application.

Phuket on a par with Pattaya?. I've never paid more than 20 Baht for a taxi in Pattaya, majority of the time I pay 10 Baht. Most of my Taxi's were to Jomtien or from Jomtien. Other than that it was soi buakow to Walking st (traffic lights 2nd road) or vice versa (2nd road soi Diana Inn) -

Why would any teacher remain teaching in such a school, or Thailand even if that is the norm. We are led to believe that Teachers and other Professionals do not choose to live in Thailand because of the Bar scene and the Ladies of the night. They come for more Noble reasons, I'd imagine job satisfaction would be paramount to them. -

It's down to the laws in Australia, not Thailand. If Australia recognises the marriage then she will have a legitamite claim as a wife. This may trump the will in part or in its entirety.
