  1. Years ago I was given Tramadol by a dentist after a tooth extraction, lovely stuff, back home I curled up in a warm fuzzy ball, scratching away. Then after I used what the dentist gave me I happened to spot a box of Tram on a pharmacy shelf, so got some more. Fast forward a few years and I was an addict. I did 2 detoxes in Australian drug & alcohol centers. Anyway, I've been off it for years now, over 10 years. The withdrawals were terrible, horrible muscle spasms in my legs. Glad to be finished with that.
  2. I've been in and out of Thailand since 1978, I've been on tourist visas, non-imm visas, marriage exts, retirement exts, I've had WPs, and I've entered without any kind of visa and got 30-day stamps. And in 44 years I've never overstayed a minute, not once.
  3. Why don't you go to the nearest IT shop and get one of the Thais to sort it out, that's what I'd do, one of those Thai techs will fix the issue in no time. Probably cost a couple hundred baht.
  4. English mate of mine lives in Savannakhet reports the following: I walked past Thai Consulate about 9.30am-ish. There must have been close to 200 people queing. On the way back 1hr later, still over 100. Not many falangs, maybe 20-ish. The rest looked Korean. There were 10 mini buses parked up for them. Now it closes at 11am. No way would they get processed in time. On Friday not 1 person was there. Because that meant, you had to spend 3 nights in Savannakhet.
  5. Can understand how some dumb farang who doesn't know the ropes can get stomped for not trying to nick off without paying his bill, but you'd think all Thai men would have a clear understanding of the consequences.
  6. Why on earth would he go to the Thalang Police Station and notify them of his lottery win? Unless he wanted some extra security, I can't think of any reason to notify the cops.
  7. When I first saw the heading for this thread I thought it read: Bat Guano Sauce. I thought what the heck, then took a 2nd closer look. ????
  8. Aren't there any IT experts in Australia smart enough to get into the dark web and bring it down, wipe all those posts of the Medibank records?
  9. Koh Samui, there are some Russians at a bar at Koh Samui who can help you out. I read something about it last week.
  10. I nearly got caught on a COD scam that was on FB. A brand new Sony camera, latest model, a special promotion price of around 3-4K Bt. I entered thinking what the hell it's COD, I got nothing to lose, then a couple weeks later I got a phone call from a delivery man saying they had my parcel and there was 3-4K Bt to pay. I thought WOW how lucky I got one of those Sony cameras, I'm a lucky SOB. But when the parcel came it was too small and too light, so I was suspicious. The delivery man said I could not have a look a check it out first, had to pay the money then I could open it. He advised me against it, and said it could be a plastic toy or a cake of soap, I'd I'd be out of pocket a few thousand baht. So there are lots of these COD scams going on. Be careful.
  11. I live out in the boonies of Korat, I see Thais wearing masks while riding their motorcycles on empty country roads, not another person around. I've seen them driving alone in passing cars wearing masks. I think masks have now become like their Buddhist amulets. It wouldn't surprise me if some even wear their masks while they sleep.
  12. One of the tricks to surviving a long time in Thailand is mind your own business and stay well away from trouble and street fights. If you are old and don't know how to handle yourself in a street fight and you see trouble brewing then walk away fast, in the opposite direction.
  13. A bit long in the tooth for that "man of action" sort of stuff at age 78. I hope for his sake he recovers ok from his injuries and is not bedridden or wheelchair bound from now on.
  14. "The revenue generated was split into 17 billion baht from Thai tourists and 400 million baht from foreign tourists", Mr. Sathien said. 17 billion baht from the domestic Thai tourists, and a measly 400 million baht from those cheap charlie foreigners. They got nothing to worry about, may as seal the country off and just rake in all those billions of baht the Thais spend. ????
  15. So if a guy owns his condo in Pattaya and he pulls a Russian or African FL from the WS and takes her home for a LT. Then technically he's supposed to go to immigration and do a TM30 because he has an alien staying the night at his residence. Honestly, the mind boggles at times here in Toyland. ????
  16. I have none of this stress, no worrying about their stupid site that apparently was set up by an IT idiot, no sweating it out about maybe I'll cop a 2000Bt fine down the track. Once every 3 months I pop into Imm and do it myself. I live far from the (Korat) Imm office, about 50km, but it takes me 5-10 minutes to do the 90 day report and then we're off to Makro & Lotus's & WishCo for shopping. Often the old fashioned way is best.
  17. That's what I'm thinking. OP said it could be 10 years old, so we're talking about a mc that would sell for just a few thousand bt. Obviously the TG is somebody special to OP or he wouldn't even consider it. If the TG is some form of "tirak" then just give the old mc to her. If not then sell it if you have no further use for it. Also remember "borrowing" in Thailand means you're extremely unlikely to ever have it returned. She could total it or it could get nicked, or she could just vanish with it.
  18. I've only ever used E20 in my Mitsu Triton, can I get that in Malaysia? If not what should I use?
  19. That's what I was thinking. I wish I could be awarded 200,000 Bt for everytime a LB has inappropriately touched my ass as I was walking along BR, or BuaKhao, or Soi 6, or WS.
  20. Yep did both tests, and that ratbag grain is now in the UK. But seriously, are the BIB going to go to all the bother of doing VPN DNS tests to try and track down the real identity of someone over an online complaint about a plate of food? They can barely cope with all the serious crime on their hands. The only reason they get involved in any of these online bitch sessions is people use their real names and are very easily located.
  21. Yep my vpn is on right now, and according to that I'm in Paris, France. So if the BIB want to go on a wild goose chase for someone called grain who lives in Paris, and prosecute him for saying online that the tom yum gung at Mama Noi's restaurant in Khon Kaen is mai aroy, then so be it. ????
  22. Just watched that vid that was on Thai TV, pretty conclusive I'd say, the SUV pulled out in front of oncoming traffic. Clearly in the wrong in any country. Sorry for the Aussie as he's in deep deep sh*t and it's going to take a serious pile of dosh to buy back his liberty. RIP to the girls on the mc.
  23. That's what I always think. I never use my real name on any forums or FB or blogs.
  24. Also I believe you need to have a brake light fitted to your rear window. Is that still a requirement?
