MOPH: Drinking alcohol increases risk of contracting COVID

Help me refresh my memory. Who was it that seeded the outbreak at the "entertainment" clubs well after when they were supposed to have closed? -
MOPH: Drinking alcohol increases risk of contracting COVID
phills2k1 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Let's call a spade a spade here. Opening bars/clubs is absolutely going to cause a rise in cases. It's just logic that masses of people in tight spaces who are there for a while and talking more loudly will do that. However, with the vaccinations, you can't delay it forever, so just rip the bandaid now (and I say this as someone who was labeled a doomsayer back in April and May). These poor people have suffered enough financially- 179 replies

'Thailand Pass' Ready to Welcome Visitors on Nov 1

It's pointless to have a conversation with someone when they think a mask is supposed to be an impenetrable force field -
'Thailand Pass' Ready to Welcome Visitors on Nov 1

How can we be this far into it and people like you STILL Don't comprehend it? Yes, a negative test within 72 hours is helpful, however, as has been pointed out countless times in this thread) and should be common sense at this point), the incubation period for the virus can be up to 5 days. It's just one more safeguard that they have in place, and quite frankly, an extremely minor concession to no longer needing to quarantine or sandbox. -
Businesses in Thailand urge government to reverse alcohol ban
phills2k1 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Honestly that's a completely valid reason because those policies are beyond abhorrent (I mean, I left the US because of what the right is doing to women, minorities and the GLBT communities). It's a shame because the citizens, who largely disagree with the government and their policies, are the ones who suffer. But I get it. I just hope that you treat all countries with human / civil rights issues the same way -

How are there so many of you that STILL don't comprehend why it was essential for gyms and health centers to be closed? Seriously, how are people that dense? No doubt, being in shape and living a healthy lifestyle is important should you become infected. But you know what the key element of that is? SHOULD YOU BECOME INFECTED. Working out isn't some magic bullet that prevents you from being infected, which is what matters more than anything, nor do gym trips boost your immune system at the drop of a hat. Outside of mass gatherings and religious centers where people are in close quarters and singing/chanting, gyms, fitness centers and yoga studios are some of the worst places you can be for a highly infectious virus. Being in poorly ventilated, cramped rooms where you're breathing heavily and expelling bodily fluids nonstop is incredibly dangerous, and they had every reason to close them while this highly infectious virus was spreading like wildfire (without any vaccines) -
I'd caution you about throwing stones in glass houses, but after reading your posts in this thread, I can't imagine your house has too much glass in it to begin with And yeah, you definitely don't care what the country and its citizens think or do. Nothing screams not caring quite like multiple pages of posts draped in lunacy while also wishing further devastation upon 70 million people all because your trip to pay for women last year was cancelled due to a pandemic

Came into this forum to ask this exact question since the flight I want is exponentially cheaper if flying to BKK first. Appreciate the info. Hopefully there's a change soon

So have they just completely given up on manufacturing the Astrazeneca doses here? -
Should I assume that with the reduced quarantine, you'll still be required to stay at a Samui Extra Plus hotel for the 7 days? Or do we just not know yet?

More COVID cases in Surat Thani?
phills2k1 replied to phetphet's topic in Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao
Anyone on Koh Tao right? What's the situation like? Does it look like this is just sort of a plateau of cases or the calm before the storm? Planning on coming back end of October, spending my first 7 in Samui and then a few weeks on Tao Thanks
