It's truly amazing to see people vote against their own interests. The rich promote right wing politicians in order to protect their wealth from taxes. Apart from direct tax deductions such as Trump handed out to them, they also do this by campaigning against social welfare benefits. Since almost half the world's population is at least somewhat narcissistic and racist and this population innately tends to be conservative (it's a genetic thing, previously proved by links here) the rich cultivate the right wing as useful idiots by cultivating a sense of grievance against immigrants and minorities which plays right into this narcissism. Sadly, the sheeple don't get it. We see poor people vote against health and education benefits which are mostly promoted by the left because of this disconnect.

I've really smashed these odds and yes. In pursuit of living longer I have mostly given up alcohol, having only a very occasional few beers or red wines, stopped red meat, reduced carb intake, cut out sugared products, intermittent fasting at least 50% of days and joined a gym for HiiT in my late 60's. I have no disabilities at present and no chronic illnesses. The problem for health insurance for me is a history of hypertension which would allow health insurance to rule out any cardio vascular coverage. That leaves accidents and I don't ride a scooter for that reason, I prefer to walk everywhere.

I'm off to Big C X today to buy ricotta or goat milk cheese to stuff into my olives so I'll look out for that. It might be cheaper than tops.
