  1. Clive, I saw from our room at the Hilton next door there were some very nice looking boats departing every evening from the Icon Siam pier. It seemed very popular. Perhaps if your in Bangkok you could inquire there. ICON has a new BTS stop so pretty easy to get to outside of morning and evening rush hours.
  2. Its all over Thai Social media. Big reason locals and many That's avoid Phuket. Your better off renting a car from the airport and having your own transportation if possible. Cheaper and more freedom. Nothing is going to change with that taxi Mafia. Its the same Mafi running the country.
  3. I notice that also. Just do it and make yourself less of a target. This doesn't dismiss the total idiot driving through a redlight.
  4. Interesting about KK airport. I usually use Udon Thani airport. I prefer KK city though and its got nicer hotels
  5. Yes, I would cross. Climbing the overpass 1 kilometer up the road in 38 Celsius weather just isn't in the books for me. I'll cross without zebra crossings, just look both ways as you were taught as a child.
  6. Samet isnt in the South. It's of of Rayong. Its small and beautiful. Nice for a 2 or 3 night stopover. 4 hours from Pattaya.
  7. ATK tests will be the last of their problems once that oil slick comes.
  8. Some work and some don't. Even dummy's cameras work somewhat. I know all the cameras from Sakon Nakhon to Udon Thani.. I Know when to slow down and when to drive 120 kilometers an hour like everyone else. They need to increase the speed limits on many roads. 80 kilometers an hour is unrealistic on the newer highways. These speed limits are from the 70's. Actually implemented to conserve gasoline during the Iran oil embargo. Roads back then also weren't as modern and as good as they are now in many areas. "A national study conducted by the Federal Highway Administration also concluded that raising or lowering the speed limit had practically no effect on actual travel speeds. Increasing a road's speed limit to the actual speed that vehicles are traveling can make roadways safer.Feb 24, 2564 BE" https://reason.org/commentary/do-lower-speed-limits-make-roadways-safer/#:~:text=A national study conducted by,traveling can make roadways safer.
  9. I don't monitor my properties month to month. You have a venting process that usually helps determine a good renter. The majority of people renting are fine. Usually the only contact we have is if something breaks. If so we send a repairman. The less contact with the renter the better in my opinion. Short leases would be different.
  10. Our daughter 7 is getting her vaccine next week. Out of 28 children only 3 have opted to be vaccinated in her school. We live in Issan. My friends son 11 has been fully vaccinated. Every child was vaccinated in his class. They live in Hua Hin. I think maybe a more educated pool of parents in that area of Thailand.
  11. You've got Benz. Most traffic laws don't include you anyways. Just disregard the law and continue on.
  12. I hate that. The supplier Could easily refund you immediately. Shoppee is usually better. That was a big purchase!
  13. No just new a smoker. Smelled awful, unfortunately died of cancer. You're on your way.
