Khon Kaen airport rarely has flights to anywhere, unfortunately. Runway is too short. .... Who wants to go to Burriram? Last time I was there I couldn't get away fast enough. Udon Thani is a great City. But that's my opinion. I enjoy good food, nice hotels, and beautiful women. The excellent airport was just a side note. They even have a lounge for priority members.

I agree. I usually end up behind someone at the store that does cashless to the "Thai" way. Usually a 10 minute holdup pushing buttons then showing the cashier, then more button pushing.

I believe to there is a few more. I enjoyed flying into Hua Hin and U-tapo until they discontinued those. even flying into Phuket lately its a layover in Bangkok for a few hours. Still great for Issan!

The Centara Hotel Udon Thani is really dated. It's virtually attached to the mall which is really nice. Pannarai Hotel is very good and across the street from the brick house and next door to the pub, both are popular and very good. The Pannarai's rooms pool side (306/406 is great) are quiet despite being next door to the bar beer area. Great location, parking making it a preferred hotel for our family. UD Town is just down the street, lots of restaurants and shopping. (Also brand new hotel within UD Town, 4 star). UD Town is a great place for a break, enjoy yourself!

Interestingly enough I've heard there pizzas aren't bad. I'll have to try one. Deep Issan, pizzas are hard to come by.
