  1. It's definitely up in price in open markets in Sakon Nakhon. The worst part, except for the actual City of Sakon Nakhon, there's a dearth of choice and quality is pretty bad. Part of the problem is the higher transportation costs. I miss a good salad!
  2. Not really. I live in Sakon Nakhon. There's very little money in rice or any agriculture. There's 7/11's,Big C, gas stations. Teachers make about 15,000 baht. I don't want to argue perhaps in your area of Issan there's a factory or something. Up here the smarter young folk head to the cities for work. It's mostly a dead end around Issan.
  3. Just go to a 7/11. There usually loitering around drinking themselves silly before they go into a GoGo bar to avoid paying for drinks.
  4. 1). She's probably already pregnant. 2). Thinks 200-300 baht a day occasionally is a windfall. There is virtually no chance of making a good living in Issan unless your a politician or already rich. Beautiful cousin, 15 here is engaged to her 15 year old boyfriend. Both families are borderline poverty. Continuing life chain poverty. Mostly ends up with the girls moving to Pattaya, Bangkok, etc and the man drinking all day in-between odd jobs and growing rice. Nothing you can do.
  5. Also keep in mind if that parcel contains a battery, even a tiny watch battery it'll be returned with no refunds. You'll need to use Fedex,DHL, etc. I sent an expensive sports watch to Hong Kong for repair and it was over 3,ooo baht. Thaipost returned it before I finally used overpriced DHL.
  6. What asinine idea. This is the brains of people with no knowledge about tourism or the results of trying circumventing the sanctions. What airline is going to risk being sanctioned to transport a bunch of lousy Russian tourists? They need a gut check. Ridiculous.
  7. Eva air is a Taiwanese airline. ""EVA " stands for Evergreen Airways, is a Taiwanese international airline based at Taoyuan International Airport near Taipei, Taiwan" https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/EVA_Air#:~:text=EVA Air is headquartered in,分享世界,比翼雙飛). They have no connection with China. Great airline. I'm sure with sanctions they'll not be going close or landing in Russian territory. Even China is still honoring the sanctions as Russia digs itself deeper into a hole (So far).
  8. You'll be fine in Bangkok. There's plenty of coin operated laundry mats to wither the time away. If you are really looking for fun maybe go to a drycleaners if you're feeling adventurous.
  9. So damm lazy. You see that in any Thai work. Always in a hurry and cutting corners.
  10. Idiots
  11. Nuts. At least wait until there over it. Desperate I guess.
  12. Unpredictable garbage. They should be banned.
  13. Rent a scooter for 250 baht. I usually drive to Hua Hin and rent a scooter because its easy to get around. Hua Hin is pretty chill place to ride a scooter as well.
  14. If it actually works out it'll be a game changer. Flying into Bangkok from any province is easy and affordable. A few nights in Bangkok then a few nights in Hua Hin. Perfect!
  15. You can easily pay it on Lazada also with no fee's and they except foreign credit cards. Nice for people who earn points for credit card purchases. (Might as well get something back).
  16. Isn't it bad to have an overstay in your passport. I'd prefer to pay the extra 7 day fee of 1900 baht. I just hate dealing with immigration and giving them something to hassle about isn't worth not footing it to immigration.
  17. I don't think you understand how Thailand works. Enjoy your week.
  18. Lots of "doctors" and "medical professionals" in Thailand wouldn't be allowed to practice in any Western country. Most are naive and haven't any real practical training. Whoever is signing this is probably a medical professional with little more knowledge and education than a street sweeper or clerk at HomePro.
  19. Are you in the right forum? It's about government corruption. Perhaps re-read the Op or start a thread about your anti massage beliefs and ant-prostitution beliefs.
  20. Another right wing evangelist type. Get your head out of the sand. Ugh!
