  1. I don't need to, I know how banks (offshore and otherwise) and current accounts operate. If that was what he told you that "salaries and other expected legitimate payments were not acceptable" to Citibank offshore accounts, he was wrong. I guess you worked at Citibank, as I did? Thought not.
  2. That is nonsense, apart from, possibly, the tax aspect if they're asked by authorities. No banks ask their, usually, high net worth customers if they're paying the correct amount of tax, neither do they care. Offshore banks are perfectly happy to have salaries and any other legitimate payments credited to their current accounts.
  3. Which jurisdiction, "UK", and what do you consider to be a "large sum to be deposited"? Have you tried looking at the various banks' requirements?
  4. "But not an account requiring a large sum to be deposited". The OP doesn't give the impression that he's a HNI.
  5. "Cooler" than what? Do you have a black car also? From your own experience, how much do you save on "air conditioning costs" in your car?
  6. Always best to ensure that you read your own links! From the same article, the insignificance is obvious... "The silver Honda Civic (shell SR 0.57) had a cabin air temperature of about 5-6°C (9-11°F) lower than an identical black car (shell SR 0.05). Overall, the numbers compiled in this car-color exercise found that using white or silver paint instead of black paint would raise fuel economy by 0.44 mpg (2.0 percent); would decrease carbon dioxide emissions by 1.9 percent, and reduce other automotive emissions by about 1 percent". A 5-6°C lower interior temperature (say 95° as opposed to 100°) in a car that's been in the tropical sun for an hour would not be noticeably cooler to anyone getting in the car!
  7. But it costs more to keep looking good. Yeah, that bucket of soapy water and a hose-down is so expensive.
  8. What about the windows that all all the same from where most of the heat comes?
  9. How many? A very unusual demographic that you're so familiar with.
  10. Have you ever seen that those black cars, that are glossy with light-reflecting glass, and red/white reflectors reflect the light from your headlights so that you can see them. If you, seriously, cannot see something as big and obvious as a car at night, black or not, then it's time for you to get your eyes checked.
  11. Which manufacturers don't use clear coat and what makes you think that clear coat affects the interior temperature of cars?
  12. Aren't all cars here equipped with aircon, how can there be any significant difference when most of the heat comes in from the windows?
  13. Well, no question in your mind, that's all. The subject is the interior of cars, not whether "lighter colours are cooler", whatever that means.
  14. Good stuff and my best wishes for a speedy recovery.
