Where did he say that? I think you just made it up. Bill clearly addressed the question of the best option for the Swift fees by suggesting a way to eliminate all of them. If he had a Schwab account he'd more than likely have (a) used it and (b) mentioned it but he was making a SWIFT transfer from his bank. Unfortunately, the suggestion for the elimination of SWIFT fees clearly wouldn't work for him.

If your only option is SWIFT, you're stuck with its fees and options, no point discussing correspondence banks' fees, something that is there, like it or not, and not open to negotiation.
