  1. What? What has THAI got to do with this? They're not involved in the exercise.
  2. Nothing to do with that...you'd know if you bothered to read the article.
  3. There was no suggestion of that, at all. It's just a data-collection exercise. As the article stated.
  4. "I can only make you think". Really? You're a bit full of yourself! Nothing that you say here requires my subsequent thinking about it.
  5. You can't be serious. Illegal police detention and torture are text book failures of the rule of law. That case that you brought up was not an illegal detention. The killing was illegal but the initial arrest of the drug dealer was not.
  6. No, that's not correct, he has not even appeared in court because he left the country before a warrant was issued so, as yet, he is not, legally, due any punishment. You know that rule of law, the presumption of innocence? As soon as he reappears in Thailand (pre 2027) he will be arrested and prosecuted, as per the outstanding warrant.
  7. Jesus Christ.... I think we're all getting Chris Daley cancer.
  8. Participation is voluntary, as the OP clearly explains. See ya!
  9. As bad as the outcome of that was, it was not an example of "arbitrary detention", that drug dealer had been arrested legally (until he was killed). "Ferrari Joe was the posted child..." Was he? What's a "posted child", then!? I think that it is you who needs to do some reading.
  10. Not a good example, at all, or, at least, not a good understanding of it. He was arrested, charged and bailed for the traffic accident, and is subject to prosecution right now, all that is perfectly normal. He left Thailand before an arrest warrant was issued for him and, at the request of the RTP, Interpol issued a Red Notice (you may need to research what the implications of that are). He is not exactly "living freely abroad", he is a wanted fugitive, unfortunately out of the reach of the Thai authorities but he could be detained at any time if any of the member police forces of Interpol decide to co-operate with Thailand's request and do so.
  11. I will go one better, and suggest you read a book. Read "Thailand: History, politics and the rule of law" by James Wise. It's a very accessable book that will paint a very clear picture for you; far better than any single use case I lay at your feet. I asked for your example, just one, of the inconsistency that you claimed, not James Wise's opinion. But, as I thought you weren't able to do so.
  12. Yes, he was granted a reduction of his sentence by HM as were many other prisoners and is how being treated for medical issues that, so far, have not been shown to be faked, no matter how much everyone likes to assume that they have been. I'm not saying that he isn't faking but no one here has any evidence either way...yet.
  13. She had travel insurance but it expired and she wouldn't have been able to renew it as she was here long term so wouldn't qualify.
  14. I don't think that is disputed but whether or not she shows her tits and bits on the internet is irrelevant, it's the "large debt" assertion that he needs to justify as he was using that to claim that she (and her family) is defrauding donors.
  15. Maybe you should have read the full OP properly. Police and hospital confirmed everything.
  16. The larger, more expensive cars (Camry, for example) have to be booked specifically, otherwise they send a taxi (Corolla) or an even smaller Grab Car.
  17. Jesus...how tall are you, then? Corolla rooves allow me plenty of headroom at 6' 2".
  18. Sad thing to want to brag about. Do you also hit yourself with 2x4s?
  19. Insensitive so-and-so. She was not just scammed out of B18k of her own money, she was scammed out of B18k that she had to borrow from a lender and friends.
