  1. "...the RTP would know but as we all know they don't always tell the truth?????" Neither do those possibly planning on benefiting from their embellished "experience" always tell the truth. I wonder why he never made all those allegations while he was here? MY money says most of it is cobbler's.
  2. You do not have to be an inmate to know there is enough on the web to tell what it is like. As well as comments on here . As I have commented elsewhere, that's cobbler's, it is necessary to be an inmate to actually know what a Thai prison or RTP jails are like and how they are operated. Reading embellished (and sometimes completely made up) garbage on the internet (and believing depictions in television series') from people who haven't been there, and then quoting it as fact, is ridiculous.
  3. well it did, she lost money by praying to a monk then giving it to a temple. Mental. that was IMO not yours. She didn't "lose" anything, she donated some of the sale proceeds, voluntarily, after taking care of her own retirement. That is fact, not my opinion.
  4. We also know that embassies can do little ... "We also know" that embassies cannot intervene in Thai legal proceedings to get their miscreant nationals off the hook.
  5. Oh dear, is that the best you can come up with, here's another saying, you shouldn't judge a book, by it's cover.... Oh, dear, is that the best you could come up with? Here's anther cliché for you, "You should always judge a book by it's cover" (LL).
  6. Yes, it seems that he was kept in the police jail before getting bail until his conviction in court when he was transferred to IDC for deportation.
  7. AN posters (not referring to you, of course) and newspaper reporters can be real scum at times, also. The chances of what, allegedly, happened to him being true re the starving and forced nakedness is zero. Anyone who has been in a similar situation here would know that.
  8. So lets here from the RTP and get the CCTV footage? For what reason, why should the police have to rebut his ridiculous claims of being "starved and kept naked" (which he, himself, contradicts in the link) when it, obviously, isn't true? Unless you really believe that prisoners in communal cells are all naked and unfed.
  9. The man is a liar...or an embellisher. Prisoners in Thai police detention jails are not starved, they are provided with adequate Thai food, they do not have all their clothes taken so that they have to sleep/be naked and neither do visitors have to bribe the police to allow them to bring food for detainees.
  10. Another gem from someone who has no idea what a Thai prison is actually like.
  11. Absolutely, and no one is "forced to sleep naked" in Thai prisons, being naked is not even permitted in the showers. Appears that he may be trying to make his story sound more sellable.
  12. "...replace it as soon as". Word to the "wise", he is, that's why he specifically mentioned it in his OP.
  13. The Wiki article that you got your stats from also mentioned the statistic that shows that CP/7-11 do not have a monopoly, nor prevent consumers from having much choice...how come you omitted that very relevant fact?
  14. There are many other choices for shopping. To suggest that there is almost no other choice than 7-11s is ridiculous.
  15. CP does not have a monopoly on the market segments they trade in, they may be the major player but they do not have a monopoly. Maybe you just don't know what a monopoly is?
  16. Nope no shares, I do believe a (any) company has every right to make a profit though. Hear, hear! There's no other reason for a commercial company to exist.
  17. What do you mean by "...and good luck with that"? What is your experience of civil court cases here that you're basing that comment on? It's clear that it's not a sincere "good luck!".... "Happened to me a few years ago in Sri Racha, took them to court (Chon Buri), and won, all monies return with interest". (Bignbad)
  18. You will also know that it is a possibility and that there was a large, long-established company in Phuket that was raided for that very reason, providing Russians, predominantly, with a route to "own" land. All their clients who acquired land that way were being investigated. What do you think the outcome will be, "Aww, you didn't know, the agency taking your fees didn't tell you? Ok, no problem, we'll just allow you foreigners to keep the land that you cannot own"?
