  1. I don't blame anyone, but according to the article the blame lays 100% with the driver of the white MG. "...according to the article the blame lays 100% with the driver of the white MG". That's incorrect, neither the Asean Now OP, nor the linked article, "100% blames the car driver" (and therefore, by definition, 100% exonerates the motorcyclist). It does, however, report what allegedly happened without apportioning blame. Maybe I'm missing where that is categorically stated, though, and, if it is, I'm sure that you will be able to quote it from either article.
  2. That is false, new-born babies are not forcibly taken from their incarcerated mothers in Thai prisons.
  3. NO-- if they are they NOT doing a good job !!! How do you work that out? From your "logic" (I use that word loosely), you must be assuming that the people who are involved in accidents such as this were taught by driving schools. Perhaps the millions of people in Thailand who don't have accidents are the ones taught by the driving schools and they are doing a good job.
  4. Jesus.... What a ridiculous question, of course it's legal, why would you possibly think that it isn't? Gawd...
  5. "This might indicate that the motorcycle driver cut in front of the MG". Just as likely that it does not indicate that. Why are you suggesting that the blame lies with the woman on the bike?
  6. I've no idea, I don't use the same shop but out of stock, perhaps?
  7. There is a law about it when they have more than 5 units, then they can only ask for 1 month deposit and 1 month rent. Thank you, I stand corrected about that law, the law that is ignored by most landlords and is unenforced and unenforceable by the police, while the standard (illegal) deposit remains at two months, which is what the OP needs to be aware of.
  8. As I said IN THE PAST !! i stopped buying dairy products in there more than A YEAR AGO. You are now on my ignore list. Obviously, it "IN THE PAST !!". you can't get your Big C shopping in the future! What does being on your ignore list do to me and is it a good thing or a bad thing, could you explain?
  9. Why on earth did you buy perishable products that were displayed in a refrigerated cabinet that wasn't cold enough when you, apparently, just know what the correct temperature should have been? Did you email Big C about those items and the below par temperature also?
  10. Great imput mate. Very helpful as always. His input was no less helpful than yours! As always.
  11. For example all Casino products and the dedicated "imported products" row. Ah, I see, you mean that Big C, the Thai supermarket, has a selection of imported goods sometimes! That doesn't make it a farang supermarket anymore than, say, Lotus's is with it's imported goods. What percentage of it's customers do you think are "farang", less than 1% probably?
  12. They have a western food store attached to it. Which "western food store" is "attached to" Big C supermarkets?
  13. Huh? What is "farang" about the Thai supermarket, Big C?
  14. Yes, very irritating but that's not how retail works. Generally, items are moved around in the stores in order that customers see more of what is available and buy things that they wouldn't normally have bought because they wouldn't see them if they remain in the same location all the time. My local 7-11 has just rearranged half the stock on it's shelves, happens all the time.
  15. Thailand has the worst driving record in the world and you come out with such nonsense, Point out what was factually incorrect in my post that you quoted there, then. Around 99.95% of the Thai population do not have problems on the roads.
  16. Joke mate, although the majority of flying accidents are in the general aviation sector. No, it clearly was not intended as a joke until you were called out on it, it was another lie.
  17. Read the post before you reply Oh, I did. How about reading my post that you quoted here before you reply and answer my question?
  18. I'm glad. I decided not to risk it on my own at the manic, overcrowded Bangkok office that I have to use.
  19. A RC from Pattaya would be a one month cert from Immigration, he said he got his from the UK Embassy (even though, according to the .gov website, they apparently do not issue them) but when they did issue them they were stated as being valid for one year, as I remember.
  20. Not sure if that is actually the case. You may have got away with it but, as you didn't know that at the time of your visit and had your UK licence with you that they must have seen, I'd say that a proper UK licence is normally necessary and just turning up with an IDP wouldn't be enough.
  21. I've used one, twice, there's the reassurance of the "hand-holding" and a guarantee that there'll be no issues with any language issues for applicants whose Thai isn't as good as it should be.
