  1. As long as you get a receipt, what's the difference? I've been renting here for 27 years and have never had any issues paying cash.
  2. "...landlord can and will kick you out ... anytime it pleases without refund" Garbage, as a generalisation, for renters with a lease. "renting without paying taxes is illegal". That has absolutely nothing to do with you, me or the OP. It's between him and the Revenue Dept.
  3. Pick one of these: - The film came with the car, and the dealer didn't ask which film they want - The dealer recommended the dark tint and the buyer listened to him - The buyer might have inspected different films, but it was in bright daylight and not at night, so the dark film seemed appropriate - The wife or girlfriend bought the car and picked this dark tint - Second hand car, which came with the film Ok, I'll pick then all... "The film came with the car, and the dealer didn't ask which film they want" Film does not come as factory standard so why buy that car? "The dealer recommended the dark tint and the buyer listened to him" So the owner chose it. "The buyer might have inspected different films, but it was in bright daylight and not at night, so the dark film seemed appropriate" So he chose it. "The wife or girlfriend bought the car and picked this dark tint" So he gave then the choice. "Second hand car, which came with the film" So why but the car?
  4. Sorry, I disagree. Retail banks do not have duties, nor obligations, to communities and small businesses", they are private companies, not community credit unions or state agencies. Their duties and obligations are only to their customers and shareholders and those obligations do not include bad lending policies. Their banking licences do not obligate them to do anything to "balance their licences".
  5. Doesn't appear to have been any of that, at all... "However, she soon bit into a whole prawn, half of which she spat out immediately, half of which went down".
  6. No, it doesn't but why did you not mention that in your earlier moan? That would have shown your post in a completely different light. Does that seem unreasonable to you?
  7. I'd be tempted to say that they get the same "bank" holidays and "Buddha" holidays as everyone is entitled to.
  8. They don't get any more official holidays than any other Thais.
  9. Did you read the article?... "However, she soon bit into a whole prawn, half of which she spat out immediately, half of which went down".
  10. No more "unique" than any other nationality.
  11. Usually not allowed. You can't take possession of an item from the driver and open it without paying, they're supposed to get the cash before releasing the item. Yes, yes, I know, so many Thaivisa posters claim that they do it anyway even though every delivery company says that it is not permitted.
  12. That's right, delivery drivers are there to collect cash and deliver packages, not to return to the depot with the liability of opened parcels.
  13. Sure looks as though your suspicion was not very well-founded judging by the responses so far!
  14. Yes, you did, you saw their money in your account and your bank statement would have shown you the money that the insurer sent you! What more did they need to do, you expected a running email commentary on the entire claim process?
  15. You mean policy conditions, clearly stated by law, on policy doucuments? "...many times they fail to pay out..." Really? Are you going by hearsay about those "many times that they fail to pay out" or do you have something empirical that justifies that assertion?
  16. Garbage, all insurance is not a scam. It is a calculated gamble for both parties, that's all. The 90%+ of claimants, in general, who are paid out on their insurance claims do not regard it as a scam.
  17. For the irrational Thai bashers (most who haven't even left the country since before Covid came along and thus never, ever had a need for it), it's a scam perpetrated on farangs (because they hate us) and always will be.
  18. This is the banks' (private companies) fault for not providing loans to people who can't pay them back? I don't think so.
  19. Keep up, it's at $769 today, The stock has not "plummeted", it has moved gradually downwards with some substantial increases over the last six months. To have "plummeted" the price would have to have moved dramatically downwards in a very short period, it hasn't done that.
