British Pensioner Struggles with Frozen Pension in Thailand
Liverpool Lou replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Well, you're obviously not well aware enough to know that there was a court case suing the government over frozen pensions some years ago that was thrown out with a ruling that the policy was political and not discriminatory. -

I don't think passport stamps are reliable as evidence. Some immigration don't stamp. There was a YT video made by a Briton, posted on this forum a few weeks ago on this subject in which he categorically stated that in his research discussions with the IPC he had been told that was one of the checks that they do when suspicious about geographic location claims of those trying to unfreeze pensions. -

Just how they would check passport stamps, even if it proved anything, is a mystery. They ask for copies of the relevant passport pages with PI entry and exit stamps, no mystery at all. -

No problems as long as residence in PI can be proven. I believe if they are suspicious of a frozen pensioner conveniently "moving" from a frozen country to a non-frozen one, such as the PI, they'll be looking for passport stamps as evidence. -
This forum changed its name a few years ago. I'm well aware of that and the poster to whom I responded posted his comment this week, not a few years ago.

Actually if you are signing on the dole, i.e. NOT Working your NI contributions are still paid. I know that, I was quoting BritScot, tell him. -

"No, it's not "theft" ". What is that then? It's one of the rules of the state pension scheme that has been made public for something like 70 years, that's what it is. -

Maybe you would prefer to call it legalised fraud. No, no one in their right mind would call it that, either, I'd just call it the rules of the state pension scheme. -

I am not getting involved in a debate with someone who makes it obviously that they think it is OK for the UK government to cheat OAP's of their annual pension increases. As someone affected by frozen pensions, I have never advocated for the policy. -

I doubt it. If she left again she would be better keeping quiet about it. She would continue to be paid at the same level as when she left. -

"State Pensions are now generated by those working". That is nothing new, it has always been the case, your NICs are not "yours" in an individual fund. -

Why?? Because it is theft, that's why. To my Knowledge there is no UK PM who has made any comment on this, and don't tell me they don't know about it. No, it's not "theft" and Boris did. -
Who cares? Nobody cares when a farang is assaulted by a Thai. It's applauded. To justify that cobblers, FruitPudding, just one example of Thai authorities' doing that would be interesting to read.

Every UK PM in the last 70 years who is still alive should be arrested and charged with theft. Why?
