Anyone have recent experience wrt travel requirements into and out of Thailand when applying for a SETV.

Their website says Air ticket paid in full but doesn't specify whether that is in or out of Thailand.  The Thai Embassy KL requires 'A copy of reservation/confirmation of transportation ticket to and from Thailand'.

It would be best if you would refrain from answering if you dont have actual recent experience.

A friend of mine who has a SETV from the Thai Embassy in  Ho Chi Minh and a return ticket out of Thailand, has been denied entry (been in Thailand too long) and is on his way back to Vietnam. What are his options to come back to Thailand?  Does he need to get a new passport or ...

I read recently that for a SETV there is now an on-line queuing system/application.  Does anyone have a link for it or update info?

Could someone confirm what documentation Vientiane currently requires for a SETV?

I used it last year and it was hassle- free.  I was only visiting HCM for 5 days.  The website isn't clear as to how long the e-visa is valid for, ie, must be used within 30 days or whether the visa entry is for 30 days.

Anyone used the e-visa and can clarify?

It's been plus 5 years since I've been to Chiang Rai and at that time there was no metered taxi available.  Any poster recently used a metered taxi upon arrival at Chiang Rai airport?  We're looking for a metered taxi as we will be travelling about 38km outside of CR.  Is there a 7/11 close by (500 metres or so)? 

I have via Line contacted taxichinahrai and the quoted the right fare from CR city, but I like to over plan and avoid issues.

Chaengwattana Immigration – Extension of a SETV

I arrived at 12:50 (7^th Nov) and when the doors re-opened at 13:00, the whole process took 22minutes with both Immigration Officers (females) being unusually polite. There has been a big change in their system for the (automatic) processing of the 30-Day extension of an S.E.T.V, and the previous 2.5 to 3-hour wait seems to be no more.

I have an Irish passport and haven't done a Land crossing into Thailand for many years.  I always fly back.

If I do a crossing into Malaysia or Mae Sod (Myanmar) and come back the same day, how many days will I get from Thai Immigration?

A member of one of the professions listed below can witness your passport application form as long as they are satisfied as to your identity and that your four photos are a true likeness of you. Make sure you bring photo identification with you and be aware that the witness may ask you for more proof of identification - this is at their discretion.

Bank manager/assistant bank manager
Elected public representative
Notary public/commissioner for oaths
