  1. 6 months ago I was exchanging E-gold through Thailand Gold Exchange (www.thailandgoldexchange.com) which was at the time funded through Asian Pay (www.asianpay.com). I tried to change $3,000USD and have been trying to get my money from them ever since. At first they paid and was on time. After they gained my trust they crushed it by not giving me MY money. Now they have me on a scheduled payment plan do to their lack of cash flow (according to them) and they are still not paying me. Their office is in Chiang Mai but they do business internationally. Now that I am having financial trouble I desperately need my money back from their company as soon as possible before my wife gives birth to my child.

Has anyone heard of these Companies? Is anyone else having similar problems? Have I been scammed? If I have been scammed, is there any legal action that I can take to try and bring those responsible to justice?

My blood is boiling over this situation. I feel robbed.

I recommend that nobody use these companies for any online transactions. They are criminals and will steal your money.

EDIT: I tried to attach a link to the companies and did it wrong so I just typed out the web address.

  2. If they had any brains, they would go to a country with no extradition treaty. :o

as far as i know there isn't an extradition treaty between the US and Thailand, however that doesn't prevent diplomatic relations from taking over and make the appearance of a treaty by extraditing anyone that the US asks them to.

  3. farang keeneow! just kidding. I've been married for about 2 years now and I am hoping to have money to have a wedding, but so far it hasn't be required of me because my wife's family knows that I don't have the funds. Many of you guys are saying that sin sod is a horrible scam and try everything in your powers to avoid it. I think of it as helping my extended family. If things went terribly wrong I know that my extended family on my wifes side is there for me. They are there for me now. Too many farangs have this "us and them" attitude that alienates themselves from common humanity. You know if you are getting ripped off or not. If you are getting scammed then you need to ask yourself if it is something worth doing for the one that you love (she might not love you though). If there is genuine love between both partners then the issue of sin sod i doubt would be much of an problem.

  4. i am trying to sell my company before we go through the visa process. should i keep my company for application purposes and then try and sell it while waiting on the visa? if the company doesn't sell then we would not be able to go. Under a K-3 how long would she have to use it before it expires? If it does expire, will it get more difficult the next time around to get a visa again?

  5. If you are planning on coming back to thailand to work/stay you are better off getting a ten year multiple entry tourist visa for your wife. Takes a day in BKK for the interview and a couple of days for them to mail the visa to you. Much easier and faster if you dont plan on staying in the states.

this is the first i've heard of this one. what is involved? do you know the name of any forms?

  6. Here you go from the BKK embassy site. You want to contact DHS in BKK as a resident. You can contact them for further details, but it is the faster route if you qualify. In Vietnam takes about 3 months.

    1. THE FIRST STEP - THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY

The process of applying for all categories of immigrant visas begins with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). In most cases, this consists of filing a petition with the DHS office having jurisdiction over the petitioner's place of residence in the United States. The petitioner should contact the appropriate DHS office using the Government Pages of the local telephone directory or by going to the USCIS website. If the petitioner resides in the United States, the processing time varies depending on the service center where the petition is pending. In a limited number of cases, if the petitioner can demonstrate current residence in Thailand for at least six months, the petition may be filed with the DHS office in Bangkok. The general inquiry email box for DHS Bangkok is [email protected]. Many DHS forms are available at:

thank you so much for this reply. it will do wonders for my first hurdle. cheers.

  7. My Thai wife is going to have my child in the next couple of weeks and then we are bound for the US. I am legally married to her in Thailand but have not registered the marriage with the US embassy. Once she has my child she will then be a mother and a wife of a US citizen. What would be the easiest visa for her to get? Once the child is born I am going to start the process but it would be great if someone could point me in the best direction.

    Thanks.

  8. Oh for heavens sake it’s really not that difficult to understand. The lines to the chorus of the song are:

“I’m so tall, I’m so tall. You raise me and then you let me fall”

So the question is, in these days of political correctness, is it acceptable to have Caucasian people running around Asian countries where the people are, shall we say, a little vertically challenged, bragging about how tall they are?

You are completely right. In our modern world we shouldn't be inadvertently mocking the vertically challenged races. What's next, an albino band going around countries with dark skinned people singing "I'm so white, I'm so white"?

How would the west like it if Thai's started going around the UK or the US singing "I'm not fat, I'm not fat"?

I say put an outright ban on them and everyone over 6 feet tall.

  9. money talks. if you do get caught, i doubt it is something that 200 baht wouldn't be able to fix. you could also play the ignorance card and say that you no nothing about computers and that yours just happened to defaulted to their network. Chances are if they are leaving their network unsecured that they probably don't know much about computers themselves.

  10. my wife kicked me out of my house and told me to come back when she called. When she finally did call I returned to my house to find my living room filled with candles everywhere and a meal fit for the king. I really got the royal treatment and felt so loved. The reason I note her effort is because she is about 2 weeks away from giving birth to my child. I'm forfeiting all love making this year for her sake, but that doesn't mean that I didn't feel incredibly loved. Happy Valentines day to all yours as well.

  11. i watched the movie yesterday from a downloaded bit torrent. i loved it. i grew up watching rambo. this movie is violent as hel_l and is wonderful. limbs and blood flying everywhere. it looks like the explosions are real as opposed to crappy cgi. and as fellow Thai expats here at TV we can all relate to his character in the movie :-D

edit: i want to add too that there is a scene where rambo is working at a snake farm. i think it is the same one right outside chaing mai where tourists go to see people molesting cobras.

  12. [i wait for the DVD - they seem to be untouched by the censors.

I bought a copy of "boogy nights" from a Tesco about 2 years ago and the movie didn't even make sense because they cut out so many scenes. It was the first time i've seen Thailand censors get their hands on the DVD market. now I only buy pirated DVD's because they haven't been tainted by the illogical censors of Thailand.

  13. you can just walk across the boarder without a problem in most places but then you won't have the stamp for the country you are entering. However the country you enter if you are able to make it to a border checkpoint they won't look at your Thai exit stamp and then you should be home free once you get the entry stamp for the country you are escaping to. The problem is getting caught by the Thai police on the way out and winding up in an even more sticky situation.
