  1. If you have Facebook go ask the "Thai Visa Advice" group (look for the yellow post it pad with "What's New" on the header page) they are the best, hands down, to answer you comprehensively. They moderate strictly, and do not allow idiot remarks or false info. Good Luck!
  2. Your description of farangs shortcomings sounds no worse than the locals, if the daily stories of mayhem reported here, are to be believed.
  3. They nearly Finnished him off by the looks of it. A lot more to this story than what the precis says for sure! But who has the time to read every two-bit story about drunks on here?
  4. No point getting involved, particularly in Thailand, sorry to say. It reminds me of a situation that happened in my first marriage, my wife and I unexpectedly came across three thugs roughing up my mother in law, "OMG!" my wife screamed, "Go and help!" I looked at the size of the thugs and replied, "Oh, I think three should be enough".
  5. Those sunlit uplands, just beyond the river of sewage, round the corner from the near empty ASDA, and across the road from the choked up highway to Dover.
  6. There was only one "Eden", it couldn't be copied when Marc was alive -many failed trying- and it won't ever be seen again. I never left without a huge grin on my face. Vale Marc OG, and the best gentlemens club ever to have existed in Thailand.
  7. Shall I panic now, or after my nap?
  8. Safer than Memphis Tennessee, and probably Memphis Egypt too.
  9. I didn't mind SR, except all over *Scambodia", well it's just constant wee scams. The washerwoman even stole the cloth laundry bag I borrowed from my hotel!
  10. And cheaper rent. And almost every other service from Taxis to plumbers, to internet. Also the fresh ingredients and rock bottom live seafood prices at almost any market is hard to pass up. I quit drinking, and I can live without cheese and $10 breakfast cereal, so the joke is on them.
  11. The set and forget once and done extension of stay, and constant monitoring is my personal favourite reason! I'm so glad they are always checking to make sure I'm ok, and enjoying my visa-for-life secure retirement ????
  12. I hope they're enjoying their fleeting youth in the sun, because they'll look wizened and wrung out a decade from now, and then, the joy of Melanoma!
  13. This is why the rest of Thailand can't have nice things. What a coincidence that the almost forgotten rice pledging scheme be dredged up right now? What relevance does it have right now? Could it be because a certain group of individuals with a track record no better, are tanking in the more reliable polls? ????????????
  14. What use is Sherlock Holmes if the case is handed over to Inspector Bribeeasy?
  15. Ok uncle... BTW thanks for advertising the new buzz to all of Thailand -for free! Derrr!
  16. "Thai persons found involved in drug transactions, even outside of Thailand, will face serious punishments." Oh really? Blessed be the flour sellers, for they will sit at the right hand side of Big Phom. Ecstasy! OMG the world gonna end. How many have died from heat exhaustion since young Anna Wood? I'll wait...
  17. The only "drug menace" anywhere, is being jailed for making an adult choice that really is nobody else's business. Do crime under the influence, by all means do the time for the crime, not just for doing drugs, and nothing else. Free up cops to fight real crimes.
  18. The worlds worst fortune tellers strike again.
  19. Re-entry permit is valid as long as you RETURN within the validity of the old extension. You need a new re-entry permit to return at any time the new extension is in force, you cannot roll your multi re-entry into the new extension. So leaving on the old extensions re-entry permit, and returning after the new extension is in force is not going to work.
  20. Why should we care about road safety, apart from ours, and the bereaved, apart from ours? If Thai people cared, they would be on the streets demanding change. It's their problem to ignore, I have plenty of my own just jumping through hoops every 90 days to simply live a quiet retirement here.
  21. Everything is bigger in Texas, even barn fires.
