  1. Agreed. Understanding most of the real Thailand has kept me bizzy (sic) these last 10 years. Still not sure I fully understand it all but I generally love it. Some of these million dollar 2 week tourists seem to master it all eh?????????
  2. Apologies, my bad wording. I was attempting to suggest that older people (eg my Mom, 91 years young) either don't use apps or get terribly frustrated/can not set them up etc. Yup. I still maintain 3 Aus banks and all good for 10 years. Cheers????????
  3. Ah. But now you know what to do when mark mark next posts. 5 minutes not totally lost.????????
  4. Lottery tomorrow. #38 (3.8%) is a shoo- in????????
  5. Yup. Thailand is already doing a good job of self-destructing. A little help from big brother should speed up the process.????????
  6. Gives "losing face" a whole new meaning.????????
  7. Agreed. A short sighted generalisation of Pattaya. Bad experience maybe?????????
  8. Try East Pattaya. Some co-existence of normality and excitement lives here.????????
  9. A lot like Phuket. Do it once and the thrill (?) is gone.????????
  10. "Another passport with slightly different date of birth?" Please explain.????????
  11. Not sure about the latter part of your post but I like "spit balling". A new one to me.????????
  12. Fair call. As I see it, schools (other than teaching the basics) should provide direction and expose students to "life" situations. Schools should also be able to provide guidance/solutions to "life" issues, but I doubt this can be handed down by teachers.????????
  13. Update. Opened a Krungsri (yellow bank) account with internet and mobile banking. ATM card not required. Opened in a Central province. Took the wife as back-up but it was easy as pie. Only passport & Thai drivers licence req'd. Two fantastic, cheerful, helpful & funny girls. Bye Bye Blue bank with my 800k after next annual extension.????????
  14. Agreed. Not only in Thailand does this happen.
  15. I never said/suggested it was. Is the USA (or elsewhere) relevant to this thread? 'Twas just a simple comment.????????
  16. Most likely they are living on debt.????????
  17. Yup. It is someones opinion and none of my business. Perhaps I'm just not in the mood to be outraged today (or any other day.) Next.????????
  18. Yes, an acquired taste indeed, and one which I enjoy.????????
  19. Brown Flying. Classy song.????????
  20. Harry Hoo from Get Smart was heard to utter "Amazing".????????
  21. I've lived here 10 years. 50/50 Pattaya and rural village. I would consider that a majority of male kids grow to become "Mummies Boys". Part of the problem is the kids father running away at a very early age and leaving no male role model for the son. ????????
