  1. I once stood next to Robert Redford at a way station on the slopes of Alta in Utah. He had blond hair and a heavy beard too. Anyone can have money. But then maybe you've aged a bit since you posed for that photo. BTW Redford is about 5'8". BTW2 When someone posts a picture of Steve McQueen as their avatar, I can be reasonably assured that the poster isn't him.
  2. That's the subject of a new topic.
  3. Yeah and I'll guess after you show them your handsome man relaxing in a sofa photos they all should be easy to round up. https://www.shutterstock.com/image-photo/handsome-man-relaxing-sofa-home-87033425
  4. From today's NY Times : How George Clooney and Julia Roberts Quietly Became the Tracy-Hepburn of Our Time They both praise and roast each other, in interviews and at public events, a tradition that goes back to even before the release of their first film: At a dinner honoring her in March 2001, Clooney called Roberts “a confidante — someone you could call up day or night, and she’d have her assistant call me back.”
  5. Gee. With 6 months left you could still start about 100 new topics on here.
  6. Or your old furniture.
  7. I was age 50 and didn't know what I wanted. I was on a domestic Thai flight when a lot of that changed. Walking down the airplane stairs and across the tarmac (no jetway back then) I started talking with a Thai gentleman. I had not spoken with him on the plane but he had overheard my conversation with my Thai/Swiss seatmates. Turns out he was the Founder of one the largest NGO's in Thailand under Royal Patronage and he asked me if I would help him with some of his students. And from that point on, I had something worthwhile to do in my eventual move to Thailand. And still do.
  8. I guess everybody has had their ups & downs. My down was being placed on a 24-hour suicide watch in a psychiatric hospital. Hospital protocol. I'll just say I'm still here 40 years later.
  9. Sure but it's tough to find a hot item these days not attached to her iPhonex
  10. And a lot of the real Buddhists here in Thailand -- especially the young females -- do not want attachment. They just want an iPhone14
  11. Few Buddha quotes are being said by a person still alive.
  12. Well OK yours was close enough. But sometimes it's better to see, at least per lots of links, exactly what he said.
  13. Simple. The HH didn't say what you said he said at least according to a link.
  14. try this: “There are only two days in the year that nothing can be done. One is called Yesterday and the other is called Tomorrow. Today is the right day to Love, Believe, Do and mostly Live.” https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/735245-there-are-only-two-days-in-the-year-that-nothing
  15. I have found that one ability that helps me to enjoy my later years in life is being able to not think about anything I really don't want to think about.
  16. My Father died just before my parents' 60th wedding anniversary. My Mother told me after he died that there were times she wanted to leave him but, with 4 kids, out of the question. So even in the longest relationships, there can be times when things just ain't all that copacetic.
  17. And I'm happy with your being happy that you're able to think and feel different.
  18. Great but, as with BM2 two notches above, I prefer the front.
  19. I have used Zenni before shipping glasses to Thailand. As I checked their website and posted here a month or so ago, they are currently not shipping to Thailand.

  21. OK thanks. One can't always tell these days
  22. I first met my Thai wife of now one year 5 years ago. Sometime these things just take time.
