  1. There is a thread on covid cases going up again, @TallGuyJohninBKK is always uptodate.
  2. It may not be your beliefs and values. Beliefs and values of the villagers concerned may be different from yours.
  3. Because of the interviews with the embassies. And because even Issarn farmers told me "now, foreigners have to pay tax". It was in tiktok, and tiktok rules. You do have a point, and maybe, maybe nothing will change. But the outcry from the foreigners was just too loud, as were the statements from the government. For example, never before did a PM talk about this subject. Let's have a look at the new forms at the end of this year. Good point.
  4. The interviews with the embassies are nothing "specifically to foreigners"? And why should there be an announcement to foreigners, anyway? Like "From Jan 1st 2025 onwards, foreigners in Thailand have to follow the law"? The Thai government has never announced specifically to foreigners that we are not allowed to rob banks. Somehow I doubt that this defense would work in a court of law.
  5. make it poor (you said "deprived") Thai village boy Doesn't change anything
  6. So this GP is the doctor you should talk to. He knows your history, he can judge whether your fatigue and weight loss is something to worry about, and he should be able to direct you to a specialist if needed. But, why did you see him at all? And why a CBC? I really think this is nothing for this forum, as the information you publish seems very incomplete.
  7. Not much for a guitar, but too much as a gift from a stranger for a 11-year old of a poor Issarn farmers family. Still difficult to understand why they didn't just sell it.
  8. Used a PI about 15 years ago. Someone owed me serious money and disappeared, PI found the person, I got my money. Cost were about 2500. I couldn't have done it by myself, it was easy for the PI.
  9. It would be very important for many people. And how much did the guitar cost? If a stranger had bought me a gift when I was 11, worth half a months salary of my dad, my parents would not have been amused. If the stranger were a homosexual man, they would have been very angry. If the stranger were a female with male sex assigned at birth.... inconceivable. This is a Thai village as far as I understand, it's not Berkeley. People don't have to be woke here, and they certainly aren't. Now, if the guitar had cost 600 B and you are a female with female sex assigned at birth, then I don't understand their reaction.
  10. Hey, I learned from AN that it means "powers that be"... I admit, we live in the tropics, so I could have meant "Python Telegram Bot"
  11. If your income in a rich country is so low that you don't have access to 15,000 $ - then you are dirt poor. BTW your premises that the cost of living (for a resident, not a tourist) in e.g. Thailand is lower than in a rich country is wrong, too, but that's off topic and would require a new thread
  12. Could it be that he didn't mean it (hint: irony)?
  13. If someone is so poor that he or friends or relatives cannot come up with 15000 $ he has to rely on Western welfare or minimal wages. Joining the other poor in a third world country?
  14. Looks like really only the covid deniers are still alive
  15. That's what I would do if it were my eyes. Standard advice. Some say 4 weeks. I cannot sleep on my back, either. I would ask them for a solution. BTW after surgery (not eyes), I was able to sleep on my back. 3 or 4 nights.
  16. Start with a GP or someone comparable, doctor for family medicine (in a hospital) for example. Then take it from there. Your symptoms are not specific enough to go to a specialist. But you definitely should see a doctor.
  17. An extremely stupid idea. Not sure it's sarcasm, though (remembering your other posts it's probably not stupidity but sarcasm - but on AN one never knows)
  18. I got my first covid shot in 2021. At the time I was told, everybody who got this deadly vaccine would be dead within 3 years. I took the risk anyway. Are there any survivors?
  19. Neither Indians nor Taiwanese stay 60 days (if they are tourists). Friends are just visiting Chiang Mai on a "5-days tour" which means 3 nights. But, yes, visa free helps. And TAT saw to it that this has been broadly publicized worldwide.
  20. 200,000 flights per year is 600 per day, about 1 flight every 90 seconds. Hm.
  21. When I was 7, my father bought me the "Encyclopedia of bicycles" in 7 volumes. I diligently studied it for 3 years. Then I got my first bicycle, to ride it on the way to school.
  22. I think it's valid for 5 years. Never heard of a "use by" date, like an activation date. I could be wrong.
  23. Many Indians don't have this, either. (It always amazes me that some island countries, like Britain or Australia, cannot imagine that there are people on the other side of the water) Fortunately, there is no seasoning. You only need 500,000 B in your account for 1 second. If a Westerner cannot arrange this, maybe better don't leave your country.
