I am looking desperately for posters with 5G experience in Pattaya. So far no results. Perhaps someone can post at this thread below their experience at least from other locations in Thailand. Best would be 5G router usage.

I didn't go into GoGo bars. Looked from the outside when the doors were open. But I looked at all the many open air bars. And there were almost no customers. But perhaps I was too early. In contrast the action in the Soi Buakhao area starts much earlier. Some sit there already in the early afternoon and have some ????????????. But I guess this is a different clientele. They seem to be happy as long as they have their booze. This is enough entertainment for them already. You have some GoGo Bars in LK Metro too. But I have never been in one there. If I had to choose between Walking Street and the entertainment in the Soi Buakhao area I would choose the Walking Street. Soi Buakhao is a traffic chaos with bad air. Soi Pothole...not my taste. Tree Town - a parking area with simple bars (what happened with the Pattaya Beach Club there - it is pretty new but closed?). LK Metro has some Walking Street feeling. It is not bad.

This is the special atmosphere here in Pattaya. Where else can you enjoy your beer between so many whores and criminals. But one essential group is still missing - the gamblers. Pattaya needs casinos otherwise something will be missing here.

I tried BKK for about a year. It helped me to finally quit smoking after very many years. Smoking and the bad air quality there was too much for me. The bad air quality was the reason why I moved away. At that time there were countless motorbikes (the old ones with a lot of smoke) and a lot of Tuk Tuks on the road. This was about 30 years ago. But there were endless options to do something. And shopping for computers & software in Pantip Plaza was great. There was nothing in Pattaya or Phuket like this at this time. And then there was the airport. I travelled a lot at this time. And of course I knew Nana Plaza (especially the very special shows on the higher floors at this time), Soi Cowboy, Thermae and whatever. But I didn't go there often. When people visited me when they made holiday here I had to show them the nightlife. At this time there wasn't much on the Internet. You had the Lonely Planet book and nothing else.

This is not even 3 percent more. This local beer here is brewed in a way so that you can add some water and you will not notice any difference in taste ????????????. Add 3 percent water and the problem is solved. Even 10 or 20 percent should not be a problem. Test it with friends. Impossible that they will notice this. I drink Leo and very often it has a different taste. I didn't have this experience with western beer. It always had the same taste.

The bars will disappear anyway. Look at the old Made in Thailand bar area. There is nothing left. This area got too expensive for bars. The same happened with other bar areas. The same will happen with Tree Town and other areas. Even with Walking Street. It is just a question of time. So why not create something planned at a cheaper location? It would help these businesses in the long run. And it would be better for customers too. Moving from Soi 6 to the Soi Buakhao area and then perhaps to the Walking Street is tiring. Every area has different offerings and bar hopping is not easy now.

I live in Central Pattaya. And I am surrounded by nightlife. I don't have to go anywhere to experience it. I live in a red light district.

With 4 users I would stick to 3BB VDSL. But I am alone ????????????????????????????. Can't blame other people if they block my SIM ????. Yes, please let us know your experience. But I will test TOT later at my location too and report here.

I just looked. I changed to Maxnet 14 years ago. I still have all documents. I paid 100 Baht fee at TOT for cancellation but they didn't cancel - I still have the receipt. Then I went there again and they told me that they didn't think that I really wanted to cancel. I paid a cancellation fee... ????????????. After I talked to the manager they obviously understood that I was serious about my cancellation. Anyhow. My DTAC sim works until February 13th. If TOT tells me that it can be used at my location I will buy the 1 month package Thunder 199 (is unlimited like the Thunder 999) for 199 Baht. Then I will test it and report my experience here in the forum. Promised. Hopefully there is no Thunder ⛈️⛈️⛈️.

Sounds interesting. I will visit them when I go next time to Big C. The TOT Service Center is on the way. I was a VERY unhappy TOT Internet customer very many years ago before I changed to TT&T / Maxnet and then when they stopped their business was transferred to 3BB. But perhaps TOT changed...

This with the 5 floors is a warning from them (several times). I just checked their other warning. Yes my router can handle LTE Band 40 2300. Can I find out if it is available at my location in Pattaya? I found something on their site but it didn't work. Where do you use it and how is it?

They write for instance that it can't be used at floors higher than 5. What other restrictions are there? Any way to test it before you buy it? Does anyone have experience with this?

You are right - AIS changed their SIM offers a lot. In October last year I still could buy this monthly AIS 30 Mbps with unlimited data. I did not find it anymore. Only 20 Mbps. But in my condo DTAC was better anyway. Have DTAC now. True Move wasn't good in my condo too with my SIM router.

If you don't need to stick to the phone number why don't you buy at Lazada or Shoppee? Much cheaper there.

You should check with your Internet usage and with your devices which provider is the best at your location and then buy a SIM at Lazada or Shoppee.

An app logs my data volume. 70 GB wouldn't be enough for me too since I (legally) download movies. Up to now I have collected more than 1000 movies over several years and I guess I should stop this behaviour... The day might come when I can watch the same movie every day because I don't remember it anymore. And somehow it gets boring to watch movies all the time. But buy 4 SIM cards where each provides 1000 Mbps (if they do what we don't know without a 5G user) and you have 4 x 70 GB data. With (1240 x 4) 4960 Baht still cheaper and more flexible than the 3BB VDSL with about yearly (12 x 631) 7572 Baht. And if you can live with 30 Mbps and unlimited data then the DTAC yearly SIM is only 1690 Baht - a fraction of the 3BB VDSL 7572 Baht price. I didn't check all of them. Perhaps there are even cheaper SIM card options.

This is not correct. 3BB VDSL costs me 631.30 Baht. The last 1 months DTAC SIM with unlimited calls to all networks was 234.66 including delivery (see picture). Almost 400 Baht less per month. And if you take a yearly SIM package you pay much less per month than for this monthly DTAC SIM. Activation is quick and easy via LINE. Regarding speed. I get about 30 Mbps with DTAC. No problems especially since I am the only user. I tested months ago already and was worried that the high season could show speed problems because of more users. But no problems. I also tested during the Fireworks Festival. Also no problems. I have a bigger topic "Your experience with SIM card routers" here in this forum (I don't want to link it again and again). There you can find the many tests I have done before and this with True Move, AIS and DTAC. The second picture shows an example for True Maxspeed (1000 Mbps) but limited to 70 GB for yearly 1240 Baht plus free calls. Perhaps there are cheaper and better offers. I didn't look. So this means about 100 Baht per month. Need more data? Buy a second one. For the same price that you pay for your 3BB VDSL per year you can buy 6 such SIMS. But now of course the question is if 5G is really available and at what speeds and where. Is there nobody using 5G?

I use a 4G SIM card router at the moment - DTAC 30 Mbps with unlimited data. I didn't cancel 3BB VDSL yet but it is paused / suspended at the moment. You can do this 2 times for 3 months a year with 1 active month between it. I am not sure if I will keep 3BB in the long run. I don't see a difference for me. Only 4K YouTube videos start to buffer sometimes with DTAC - but this is no real problem. I had unlimited speed for some days (was included in the DTAC package) but this didn't make any difference at my location. I don't have a 5G device to test. But does it make sense to have a 5G device now already? This I want to find out.

Would be interesting to know how far 5G is available especially in Pattaya and what experience you have with it regarding speed and signal strength / availability. Also which SIM card package you use would be interesting as well as the phone / tablet / router.

I think Pattaya needs zoning. At the moment the red light businesses are at the main locations of Pattaya. They should take a cheap land outside of Pattaya and create there a paradise for party ????????, sex ???? and booze ???????? tourists (of course without prostitution ⚠️????????????). And even provide free transportation to and from this area ????. This would stop the often extreme noise but also sex pollution for other visitors and also many residents. They even can build short time hotels ???? and other hotels there ????. Then these things are separated and not at many places across the city. An expensive prime location like the Walking Street can be used for better things than seedy nightlife...

I did it yesterday at about 6 in the evening for Chonburi/Jomtien. I didn't expect that anyone will still work at this time. But I got the approval 2 hours later. Perhaps done by the computer alone and if it cannot do it it goes to humans? But I don't know.

Yes, the people should check the data and especially the dates if they are still correct. I don't want to be guilty if it doesn't work for someone ????.
