  1. Yes, there are similarities. This picture is not from Pattaya but from Miami.
  2. This quality tourist should be glad he didn't end up in a ladyboy bar...
  3. Yes, this is correct. My retirement extension is only granted year by year and I am only a tourist here. I don't forget this ????.
  4. I give you only 1 tip to be successful in Thailand. Don't be a naive dreamer and have enough money so that you don't have to work here.
  5. About 30 years ago there were no mobile phones and the only Internet option were Internet shops. I went there very often and was sitting there with many entertainers that tried to keep in touch with their foreign lovers via email. And often they asked me to help them because their English wasn't good. It was fun. I learned a lot and even made new friends (without having sex with them - never). One of the tricks to get (more) money was to say that they were pregnant and needed money for an abortion. But of course - she might be really pregnant. I understand the OP that he wants a confirmed pregnancy test. So the girl should go to a hospital and check there and give the result to the OP. But of course this does not guarantee that he is the father.
  6. But they want to widen the Beach Road highway anyway (again) ... Anyhow. Pattaya needs a better infrastructure for local and other tourists. It is not done by creating new red light areas all the time to attract more quality tourists from other countries. People need to park their vehicles. People need public restrooms, showers and changing rooms at the beach areas. But people also would like a beautiful beach boulevard. On the other hand it is just another sex business area especially at night time. Perhaps one reason why they removed many benches when they removed the old nice beach boulevard so that they could widen the Beach Road highway years ago.
  7. I guess he wanted to stress "losing". I think the police does a great job. And these entertainment venues that think that they are above the law should be punished harder or even closed. It was the same with the weed stores in Pattaya. They did not care about laws. Pattaya has far too many sex businesses anyway. These businesses are bad enough already even if they comply with laws.
  8. But again. Dengvaxia should only be used if you had Dengue already - if at all. It was a scandal what Sanofi did when testing it. Children died because of it. Read the many reports about this disaster that you can find on the Internet. Sanofi should have known the risks.
  9. You can raise the wages because of the inflation. But this will cause more inflation and you will have to raise the wages again. But this again will cause more inflation and.... One day you come with a wheelbarrow full of money and you want to buy bread. The baker tells you that he is not interested in the money but in the wheelbarrow to give you bread. This happened to my grandfather. He was rich and lost everything. He had to start again...
  10. The headline is misleading. He also said "The virologist adds that adults with respiratory diseases should continue to wear face masks outside the home. In addition, everyone should wear a face mask on public transport and in crowded spaces. However, Yong says healthy people don’t need to wear them in outdoor areas such as parks, beaches, and on the street."
  11. Dengvaxia should only be used if you had a Dengue infection already. Otherwise it might cause severe problems if you get Dengue the first time. "Approximately 800,000 schoolchildren received the Dengvaxia vaccine and benefit from the protection it grants against dengue fever. However around 10% of those 800,000 had not had dengue fever before and therefore are at risk of severe infection because of the vaccine." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dengvaxia_controversy
  12. I am wondering that local beer prices didn't increase so far. But perhaps this is the just around the corner. Other things went up by at least 20 to 30 percent (until now...). Some products even increased 100 percent or more. Good that Thailand has only an inflation rate of about 6 percent ????????????. But they play the same game in Western countries....
  13. Always make an unpacking video. And don't make the same mistake that I made. If you ordered several items from the same seller you need the return form for each single item. The courier will scan them and confirm in this way that he received everything.
  14. "However, those arriving from China and India are still required to have Covid insurance that covers at least US$10,000 for the duration of their stay in Thailand, which also extends for seven days after their departure." I am confused. Recently it was only advised to have a health insurance for the peace of mind.
  15. Just be careful regarding taxation of interest income. In some European countries you don't have to pay taxes if you don't live there.
  16. I wouldn't reduce the amount within the first 3 months ⚠️⚠️⚠️. And afterwards only to 400,000 but have the 800.000 there in time for the next extension (I think 2 months before but please check this again). The seven days are often up to the immigration officer. At Jomtien I never had a problem even with 2 days. I always go weeks in advance to be on the safe side. You can come up to 30 days earlier.
  17. I always go for the bank letter the day before. No problem in Jomtien (so far). Don't forget to update your book with a transaction when you are at the bank. Officially it can be 7 days old if I remember correctly. But this seems to be up to the immigration (officer).
  18. Obviously the penalties are not severe enough. If they are still making a profit despite the fines, they don't care and will continue like this. And others will do the same.
  19. Of course you can live in a hut next to a rice field and eat a plate of rice every day. And if you catch ???? frogs you also have some protein ????. As long as you meet the visa requirements you can enjoy this luxurious life.
  20. If you live a western lifestyle in Thailand, it can get very expensive. Imported cars, imported groceries, wine, beer, bread and many other things are much more expensive here than in the West. Since there are no shops like ALDI, even local groceries are often more expensive. Sure you can find things that are cheaper here. But not everything is cheap here. The rents for small apartments with a few square meters can be expensive. Up to 1000 Euros for a 24 square meter apartment here in my condo complex in Central Pattaya. I would not consider this as cheap. Of course there are cheaper alternatives. Certainly also in the western world. But to paint a picture that everything is cheap here is completely wrong. I see farangs here that collect bottles. Or some even eat the leftover food of others in the food courts of big shopping malls. Thailand is not for everyone. There is no social security net and no free health care. And again - not everything is cheaper here.
  21. "Tourists who develop symptoms were being advised to isolate in their hotels, wear masks and not go into crowded environments." What else would they do after spending a lot of money and time to come here for their vacation... Somehow this whole Covid policy gets more and more unrealistic. They are advised to make a PCR test. They are advised to have a health insurance. But they are not advised to stay in their home country where they have countless Covid cases.
  22. Planning a vacation in Thailand is becoming a challenge. You never know what's coming next. Dear passengers. This is the captain speaking. We have just received information that you cannot enter Thailand without a PCR test and insurance. We will arrange your return flight as soon as possible. Upon arrival, please wait at the gate for further instructions...
  23. Now you used it several days if I understood you correctly. How is your experience?
