Are you saying that there's no connection between rail workers high salary and high train ticket prices ? Also, that if bus drivers were to get a higher salary then bus ticket prices wouldn't have to rise as well ? Don't you think that there's a connection between operating costs and ticket prices and the higher the operating costs the higher the ticket price ?

Train service operators make about 2 % profit , some don't even achieve that

Train rides are extortionate due to rail workers wages and some people cannot afford to use trains , if bus drivers received the same salary as train drivers , using buses would become unaffordable for the poor working people

I haven't done both , but train drivers do not need to deal with passengers , check tickets or take fares and they don't need to actually look out for other vehicles or pedestrians or cyclists or anything , which would make the job of bus driving to be more difficult than train driving

The energy price rises have been caused by the disruption in supply caused by the Russia/Ukraine war , Russia energy being unavailable has caused shortages across the E.U and prices set years ago when contracts were signed would be valid for new contracts

Train drivers get GBP 60 000 a year basic pay and a lot more with working over time and its an easier job than being a bus driver

That cost and shortage of fuel is due to sanctions on Russia and the UK not receiving Russian gas anymore , its not because of the Pound exchange rate

Those prices are set years ahead of time in the futures and options markets , so the Pound exchange rate isn't noticeable on the street compared to Brits abroad who need to exchange Pound to Baht

The Pound exchange rate doesn't effect people living in the U.K, doesn't matter if its 10 $ to the Pound or 1 cent

Well from my experience , if you have a serious disagreement with a Thai , they will tell all mutual friends and give their side of the story and turn everyone against you and quite often the Thais will side with other Thais and you will be ostracized . That is just my experience , no need to call me "stupid" , especially coming from a guy who makes a fuss about paying the going rate for a beer and wants 7/11 prices in new restaurants and posts about in on various forums
