Heathrow is old and dated , especially noticeable when flying in from new airports around the World , like Swampy and Doha .

Heathrow needs to be knocked down and rebuilt from scratch

We bought 6 1/2 rai of Chanote land in Loei about 2 years ago. Paid 200k per rai.

It's elevated with incredible views of mountains, river, lakes, rice fields, etc. It has a paved road linked to the nearby main hwy and has electricity and water at the gate. About a month ago 4 rai on the other side of our road became available, but we couldn't get it for less than 250k per rai.

Prices are growing as locals realize the long term value. Wifey is crooked at her drunken father who literally gave away land many years ago. He also failed to buy a big block on the hwy that was offered for 500 baht!  Those days are long gone. The wife cleverly bought several cheap parcels of land in the area over the years she was working in the south (never in a bar). She has around 20 rai in total. We still own our Phuket villa.

Apparently there is money available from big investors in the cities who are happy to pay to plant rubber on land owned by others on a shared profit basis.

About 4 or 5 farms around us are in the process of switching to rubber.  Our next door neighbor who has bred cows for decades is thinning his stock and has plowed much of his pasture to plant the trees.

I think Isaan farming land is now a good investment as, in this changing world, Thais are realizing they need income later in life and are (re) turning to land..  The big problem is finding labour to work on the farms.

Also in Loei been offered 8 rai for 2m, chanote land, level with farm road has electric and water. Monk owns it and its got palm trees on it (any idea of what it could rent for per rai ?)

Boris behavior should not be a surprise for anybody. He always behaved like that. He was fired several times for lying. He was an incompetent politician before he was elected to be PM.

Why do people vote for a liar like him?

Why do people vote for a party with those incompetent people and that PM?

Part of it is obviously the crazy UK press. But anybody with a brain does not listen to that crazy press.

In a country with informed and educated people Boris wouldn't have a chance to get any important job.

I think the word your looking for is Corbin, I agree Johnson is a lying duplicitous bumbling dishonest pr$ck but I reckon Hitler would've beaten Jeremy

I am just fighting through the highly complicated rules for entry/transit to Germany.

One thing seems clear: non vaccinated will have to show a Covid 19 test certificate for a test not older than 48 hours(!) before entry/transit. The rules say explicitely that this also applies for transit.

For Thailand an antigen (ATK) test with certificate seems sufficient.

Don't ask me about entry to the UK.

    Maybe another poster can tell.

I hope they would not why would any country want to let unvaccinated aliens in ??

They stopped offering more than 30 day coverage, and increased their rate to 20,000 THB. (hardly an option).

    TR/Exempt Entry

To simply enter under a TR / Exempt visa any of the listed policies here would be fine:

    https://asq.in.th/thailand-covid-insurance (select 65+)

The go-to cheapest option is WorldTrips, or FWD (both approve within 30 minutes).

    OA/STV Visa

If you need a policy for your OA/STV visa which satisfies both the Thailand Pass requirements, as well as the visa requirements you should pick the 100,000 USD plan by Tune Protect Here (select 90 days or 1 year).

    OR

If your intention is a 1 year multiple entry visa then we would advise just entering under TR/Exempt with any of the low cost insurance options, and then obtain your Retirement Visa once you arrive in Thailand.

If this is something you are interested in you can message our team via @LINE.

Just for ultra clarity in the currently changing situation as it stands when i return to Thailand from the UK in June on an O visa (retirement) with a 1 year extension (Expires Oct 22) my only requirements to get the Thailand Pass and entry into Thailand are 30 days covid insurance $10k+, proof of vaccination and flight details from UK to Bangkok (No return or onward flight required) have i missed anything ?  TIA

Just an additional thought is the Mor prom app required for re entry to Thailand ? i had the Thailand plus app when i arrived last year but it hasn't worked for ages

Not available here, yet. Saw some announcements by a reseller within the last 2 years, but expect the licensing process will be glacial without extreme lubrication. Market potential is miniscule here, maybe three people including the OP?

No. You are watching Netflix Thailand.

Where your account is based is irrelevant.

You could watch U.K. Netflix from thailand by using a VPN, assuming Netflix hasn't whitelisted your VPN provider.

Is there any way to tell whether your watching Thai or UK Netflix and does it make any difference ? as far as i can see it looks the same as when i watched it in the UK

Are you saying you have no VPN installed and watching UK Netflix in Thailand?

Did you son in law set something up for you?? VPN on your Router perhaps?

You maybe right in the previous house i watched Netflix, Sky, BT sport and all the uk channels using an amazon fire stick the he got  me with something downloaded on it so it could have had a VPN on it ? thing is it stopped working so i couldnt watch any UK stuff (only through the laptop) but could still watch Netflix on the TV through his account

One more comment about streaming via 4/5G

I think Netflix (Thai) can work as they use local Thai Servers. Try their (Netflix) speed test

    Link:   https://fast.com/

But if you want UK Netflix or BBC watching on Prime Time (Thai) via 4/5G as said I sincerely doubt it.

It's a shame that Thai Expat TV is defunct, that worked great with BAD Internet connections, just start the program you wanna watch, HIT pause, let it buffer till it maxed out (30 mins I believe) and watched it BUFFER Free (most of the time :whistling: )

I've seen similar posts regarding UK or Thai Netflix I use the son in laws account he lives in the UK and watch it on my TV which doesn't have a VPN as far as I'm aware so I'm guessing it must be watching UK Netflix ?
