  1. OK. Thanks for that. The price is too good to refuse. I just hope the Godfather comes through with what He promises. I will buy tomorrow if I can get to the store.
  2. Dear Folks, I have read many conflicting reports about Samsung Washing machines. Frankly, I had been planning to buy a Hitachi machine, but then I saw a deep discount on a Samsung machine, and now I am just too tempted to "take the plunge", so to speak. In other words, Samsung sales channel has made me an offer that I may not be able to refuse. This is the unit, and the price is around Bt7,900.00, including installation. https://www.samsung.com/th/washers-and-dryers/washing-machines/wa5000c-top-load-ecobubble-digital-inverter-technology-super-speed-15kg-dark-gray-wa15cg5745bdst/ I always thought I would never buy a Samsung washing machine. But then, I bought a Samsung refrigerator, and realized that it was quite good for an excellent price. I still think Samsung ACs are garbage, but who am I to judge others. Also, I never like the top loaders compared to side loaders. However, I am not prepared to pay that much for a machine I may not use for many years. I just care about not using a machine which will tear-apart my clothes. A side-loader is better in this respect. Now, there is another member who, just as I, feels quite strongly about having had bad experiences in the past.... Apparently TWO DIED within 5 years, or so he says. Is Samsung now much improved? If so, I will give them another shot at making me a happy Samsung washer.... I must buy tomorrow, because I have a lot of dirty laundry piling up. So, I need feedback ASAP. Tks and Regards, Gamma NOTE: I noticed that Samsung provides only a ONE YEAR WARRANTY on Parts etc (20 year warranty on motor), and so if the company only gives a ONE YEAR warranty, then...maybe... The company has not as much faith in the machine as one might wish.... If Samsung does not believe that the machine will last more than a year, without breaking, then why should I????
  3. Certainly not I. I have 3 working microwaves (Electrolux), which I purchased this year (2), and last year (1) I also have a Panasonic microwave oven that I purchased 10 years ago. I only used it for about a month, and then it stopped working. I had the guy replace a capacitor. It worked for about 4 months, and then stopped working. I decided not to repair it, but just keep it an maybe cannibalize it for parts or something. The magnetron has only been used for about 0.5 years, in fact. I have another larger Electrolux microwave oven that I bought almost 3 years ago... After 2 years, and with light use, it stopped working due to a problem with the PC-board. I decided not to fix it, and bought a new microwave for about Bt.1750. I will just keep it as a souvenir, for the time being. Or, maybe I will fix it some time in the distant future. For sure: I now view products purchased here with great skepticism. And, I always buy the cheapest garbage I can find. The garbage seems to last as long as the premium stuff. (Well, why should it not? It's all imported from China at costs that are way too low. YOU PAY FOR GARBAGE, BECAUSE YOU ARE ONLY WILLING TO PAY FOR GARBAGE, and so the Chinese exporters provide the GARBAGE that you paid for. IF you want premium quality from CHINA, then you will need to PAY for it. This is what importers around the world are completely unwilling to do. They import GARBAGE so that they can sell this garbage to their....GARBAGE CUSTOMERS. What did these customers EXPECT, ....ANYWAY?!!!)
  4. Thanks; I needed that. Also, my question was rhetorical. The Electrolux site shows only the ovens that I have already mentioned. There are no "newer" ovens on the site. So, the 70L oven, etc., is NOT old stock, just as I stated. Thank you for reminding me that it has only been four long days since I purchased the 70L oven. Sure seems longer... Seems like about a year has gone by since I bought the oven at PB. Please also recall that there has been quite a bit of advice to the OP stating that the OP should, at least, consider going with a counter-top oven, instead of forging on to find a kitchen with an oven exactly as he would wish or dream about. If you find a kitchen with a built-in oven, then how would you even know if it works well before signing the rental contract? You might NOT. Also, do you really want to use such an oven, which might be dirty or even hazardous, not knowing who might have used it before you moved in? For example: I recall while living elsewhere, I would dry my old tennis shoes and jogging shoes, jock-straps, and sweaty underwear in the oven at the place I was renting. And, I really doubt that the landlord had the oven fumigated after I moved out. Therefore, I think that the counter-top oven is a reasonable solution. Note that Electrolux terms these ovens....STAND-ALONE ovens, to differentiate them from BUILT-IN ovens. Suggestion: If you DO find a rental with a built-in oven that you like, then please do clean the oven thoroughly before cooking your meals with it.
  5. Old Stock is better than NO STOCK, in some cases. Both of my ovens, no matter my purchase date. are old stock. But then, what else did you expect? This is Thailand, Sir! Does the Electrolux Company site show anything newer than the 70-Liter oven which I purchased 2 weeks ago? Maybe, but then, they must be hiding it until all this OLD STOCK has been cleared from their inventory. And, no matter whether old stock or new stock, I now consider these products to be disposable items. Just chuck it in the trash heap, and do NOT try to service this garbage, when it goes On the Fritz! If I were to purchase a stand-alone floor oven, then I would not buy in Thailand. I would have it shipped over from Japan, I think...
  6. Hey, Man... I think you need to correct your links here, or the description of the links. You have stated that this link, the 56L oven you link, is the NEWER one. This is actually false. This link shows the 56L OLDER model oven. And, yes, this is the one that I have in my kitchen. And, you can see that I just captured and posted an image in my above comment. It seems to me that the oven that you imaged is actually the NEWER oven. And, this oven is STILL on sale at PB. I could be mistaken. But, it's really super-hard to see how that might even be possible... In this case. NOTE: In order to avoid any future confusion concerning the image of the 56L oven which I captured in my kitchen, then you can easily refer to the ELECTROLUX MODEL NUMBER, which is also visible in the image.
  7. So then, all has now been fully clarified in the end, Correct?
  8. Well, you were the writer who first mentioned farts and farting in this thread, which I appreciated. You seemed confused by my allusion. Initially, I was speaking only of the importance of providing supporting evidence for one's arguments. When you suggested that I do better to provide more supporting evidence for my arguments, I stated to you that I could feel it coming on. And then you likened by supporting evidence to a fart, which is your privilege. Then you mentioned or questioned my wording, upon which time I felt the need to provide the origin of my original allusion, for further disambiguation. That is all. Nothing more.
  9. No. "I can feel it coming on....(I feel it coming)" I was referring/alluding to the words of the great ZZ Top, as follows:
  10. Sorry. This will not affect me. They can keep their garbage. I am completely reformed of my bad habit, and I will not be buying on-line. Lazada still owes me around Bt.4,500, I think, for products that I returned in the past, up to 5 years in the past, I think. I want that money, my money, returned to me. Then, I will shop only at stores located on solid ground, in CM, from here on in. I do not wish to reward shoddy suppliers, some of which can be found online. Also, I like to get out of my house and, on a rare occasion or two, actually see other people, in person. See you all,... At the Mall.
  11. Perhaps this is a good time to clarify that what I was referring to was actually.... one explanation for the Fermi paradox. The Great Filter to which I alluded is important here and feel free to read more about it... Enjoy... Regards, Gamma
  12. Wait for it..... I can feel it coming on.
  13. Agree. Do NOT waste time watching Seinfeld. The show was designed in a way that might help make morons feel erudite and worldly. Just a conglomeration of shallow, sick and insipid 'jokes'.
  14. Both good and valid points. Yet, I am only guilty of the one, and not the other.
  15. Let me clarify, and then....what do you think? a. I now have 2 ovens. Both are Electrolux. b. I purchased the 56 liter oven about 3 years ago, from PB. c. I purchased the 70 liter oven less than a week ago, from PB. d. Here is a photo of the front panel knobs and markings on the 56 liter oven.... e. I previously uploaded a photo of the Electrolux 70 liter oven. f. Here are two images, one each of the Electrolux 70-liter and 56-liter oven. I am quite sure that these were both supplied by the Electrolux distribution channel...BUT...if you think otherwise, then be sure to let me know by updating a reply here.... As I said, the 56-Liter oven does NOT maintain a temperature anywhere near 250 degrees C. And, I have read similar complaints from others who have purchased the 56-Liter oven. NOTE: Are you SURE that you do not have this oven, and not the 56-Liter oven, as do I? (Remember, I have BOTH the older 56-liter oven AND the newer 70-Liter oven....
  16. Yes. I agree. Supporting evidence is so much more convincing than collaborating argument. (As I always say, when presenting a paper, one can anticipate that there will be those who ask one for supporting evidence.)
  17. Yes. And also, I very much doubt that the DAR would have her, either... Besides this, she has a stepdaughter who was named after Ella Fitzgerald ! Who does that? When I was young, we had a housemaid who was named Ella. Yes, a beautiful person, but she was black. Harris' father was/is an Afro-Jamaican Catholic, who uses mathematical modeling to poke holes in accepted Economic theory. Everybody KNOWS that the Field of Economics is no more than some sort of TRUMPED Up Pseudo Science !!! And then, her mother was born in Madras, India, a place where I once was able to buy fantastic Madras Shirts of Exceptionally good Madras cotton. Now, they don't pick as much cotton in Dem parts, it seems. I still wish I could buy the same quality cotton shirts as I once could buy, about 55 years go, produced in Madras. In fact, if I were able to do some sort of Deal with the Devil... Then, I would gladly allow Harris to be elected, in turn for .... My being able to buy as many Madras shirts as I liked... At the same price as I once did.. And of the exact same quality, too. Those old cotton shirts that used to come out of Madras, India were truly of EXCEPTIONAL quality. Maybe we should elect Harris's MOTHER for PREZ. I bet, knowing that she taught at Stanford, she never speaks in Word Salads. Note: I don't think she actually TAUGHT there, but was some sort of "research scientists" there... She grew up in Tamil, Nadu, where they have this beautiful temple structure:
  18. Yes. Trump is just trying to limit and reduce the risk that America (the US) could slide and spiral enough that it would become the new South Africa of the world.
  19. That is a "bar" graph. Everybody knows that "bar" graphs are often biased. That's why both words begin with a B, as in B-girl.
  20. Yet, still, Trump was unfairly treated and unjustly maligned. This is a very unfair world in which we live.
  21. I do not understand. These risks that others understand are over-rated. Harris is the riskier candidate.
  22. I have yet to have a massage in Thailand, of any flavor. I just do not have the time for it. Also, in my neighborhood, where my house is located, I have not seen any massage parlors. What do they look like in my neck of the woods...ie....The Province of Chiang Mai, but not in center city. Do they have any massage parlors nearby, I wonder? I would like to have a massage in Thailand before I die.
