  1. His topics are too long. His topics are mostly nonsense. He's a Farang. Therefore, I would not be able to cohabit with such a person that met all these disqualifying criteria.
  2. Having mentioned (in the OP) the Standard Model of particle physics and the controversy, these days, concerning the fact that the Standard Model is inherently an incomplete theory, we are told that there are fundamental physical phenomena in nature that the Standard Model does not adequately explain, namely Gravity, neutrino masses, and the cosmological constant. Some physicists are seeking a "new physics", but what does that mean? And, is it a good idea? I have yet to meet anyone from North America or Europe who is not interested in Cosmology. And, I just wish that the people I meet in Thailand, or from China, would take more interest in Cosmology... Today, I noticed that this German girl is talking about this very topic on her UTUBE channel. This HOT German Physics Babe is a real Smart Physics Cookie. Her audience is totally lay persons who love Physics and Cosmology, and much more. She uses a very dry and sardonic wit to clearly explain Physics and Science, while often poking fun at physicists, Elon Musk (lovingly), and other scientists. Quite humorous, but she is a great communicator of science. I am 100 percent positive that there are many on this forum who might enjoy this UTUBE channel, and,... Even a broken clock is right twice a day. This UTUBE channel is worth a watch, if you haven't watched so far... I love Smart German women. Maybe it's their German accent... She has One Million subscribers. And, she has 318 informative videos; and, yes, she is a real physics researcher with a PhD, and all that. She's so HOT, I could listen to her talk, All day, and all night, too.
  3. The Kinks never sang a bad song, at least that I have ever heard. It's truly impossible to choose the TOP 3 tunes because they are all so good. The best I might do is to choose my TOP 30...or maybe even my TOP 40 selections. However, as soon as I saw this thread, TWENTY came immediately to mind... Everybody likes Sunny Afternoon... But the first tune that came to mind would have been this one... I have the entire discography on my phone, but now seldom listen, so unfortunately. These guys are the best. I am old enough to clearly remember them, their songs being played, in my dorm room at age 12... Unforgettable... The Kinks are part of the times, at that time, for me. When one had just passed through puberty,...The Kinks sounded the BEST....
  4. Good memories. And, it's very interesting to read this comment. There are others here from Philly.
  5. If it's all the same to you, I think I best stick to the Chicago Manual of Style.... As you correctly point out, I am probably just too old a dog to learn new tricks, at this stage of my decrepitude. Still, thank you for your suggestion. I will take it to heart. Please wait and watch to see if I improve. Thank you.
  6. Have you ever been to Smokey Joes in Philly? http://www.livelongandtravel.com/the-7-best-college-bars-in-america/7/ Plenty of Draft Animals in this dump! Gerald Ford, among them. During the first semester of our freshman year, it was still possible to get into Smokes with a Penn student ID and other questionable forms of identification. The Pennsylvania liquor control board began to crack down, and so we had to be tougher with ID’s. I began bouncing at the end of my freshman year. Members of the wrestling team/ATO had proven to be adept at handling the imposing Penn student population. (https://franklypenn.com/2018/02/28/smokes-the-pennstitution/) That was the year we had major student strikes on campus. Tricky Dick did not approve, even though he turned out to be a real drunkard himself.
  7. Then why not just refer to the recent Ukraine-war-Bread-maker-Flour Topic in the Western Food section? Surely, you can find a good solution to your Chinese bread-making-machine problems there. I am using a bread machine which was manufactured in China. It works GREAT. I received MUCH helpful information from TV, which totally solved the bread-tastes-like-cake conundrum. In my case, I was told to radically reduce the amount of sugar I was adding. Seems the Chinese like their bread to taste like cake. After I reduced the sugar by 80 percent, I achieved good results. On my next loaf, it will be even better when I completely eliminate any added sugar. So, in this case, TV helped me to solve what, for me, was becoming an intractable problem.
  8. My Dearest Fellow-Ethical-Treatment-Of-Animals-(PETA) Friends, Does your worry for the wellbeing of Draft Animals keep you UP at night? I am totally against the mistreatment of draft animals, for any reason. However, some people just don’t care, and they abuse these animals for base pecuniary reasons, not caring a wit about the damage done. Is there any hope for these animals, do you think? Following are several examples of the emotional injury to draft animals... What can be done to help them, do you imagine!!!!? SOMETHING must be done to rectify this injustice. Let’s all make an effort to help these poor beasts overcome the predicament that life has randomly thrown their way. Thanking you, and, With sobering regards, Gamma G. Note & Questions: Is This Draft Animal Situation now beyond rectification and redemption? The Barkeeps are making out, BIG TIME, as Trump might say, while these poor Draft Animals pay the cost and inevitably go penniless: Is it indeed hopeless? Let's HOPE not....
  9. a. What is boomer-formatting??? b. You should be so lucky to turn into me when you reach my age.
  10. Post images of your bread maker, and maybe someone here who can read Chinese might translate it into Thai for you, or English. I wonder who on this forum reads Chinese... Hmmm....Let me think a bit....
  11. Yes! They all throw peanuts at me. I am paid in peanuts. And, being paid in peanuts is FAR more than I deserve. Far more.....indeed! When I have collected enough peanuts, I shall use my blender to make half a jar of peanut butter, maybe...
  12. On Second thought.... Maybe this forum is not yet ready for discussion of the uses of LATEX. Such a discussion is normally approved ONLY for ADULT AUDIENCES....
  13. Maybe this is why I haven't finished the book yet.
  14. What's your favorite LATEX color? Mine is yellow... This girl in LATEX is just so mellow....and yellow... She reminds me of Donovan...
  15. Latex is such a versatile material. Little wonder that it is becoming increasingly popular in the world these days.
  16. If your first attempt at installing TeX Live fails, just because you forgot to prepare enough space on your SSD, and then you need to delete your first installation, and then reinstall it, as has happened to me this evening, then you might be wishing you had purchased a latex mattress before you started. I am thinking of buying a latex mattress before I begin STEP 2 of the LATEX tutorial, which I linked above, at https://www.learnlatex.org/en/lesson-01 Latex mattresses are expensive but well worth it, especially if you weigh a lot, and if you might have health problems such as arthritis. Or, if you are completely healthy, then you will still get a better night's sleep, or so I have been told. Here is a video about Latex Mattresses, but let's not believe everything we hear. I cannot vouch for these guys:
  17. Please NOTE: For those of you that choose to install TeX Live on their Windows computer, but then decide to uninstall this VERY LARGE program from your hard drive... a. First use the standard Windows uninstaller using the Add/Remove button, as usual. b. However, after doing this, the 3.5GB of TeX Live files will still remain in the directory "TexLive", located on your root directory. c. You will need to locate this directory, and delete the files contained in the directory (folder), and then delete the directory (folder) itself. I just wanted to mention this, so you don't get stuck with 3.5GB of files on your computer that you don't want. This software, I believe, was first ported to Linux (maybe), and so most guys, these days, probably use TeX Live on Linux, or maybe Apple OS. Windows works, OK, though....
  18. As you say, such a fate, for me at least, would be highly likely. And so, I would never tempt fate by marrying a prostitute or a bar girl. But, each to his own, and I should be the last to judge others.
  19. I wouldn't be attracted to old women, even if they dressed up in latex. I am attracted to women of about 23 or 24, same as I have always been. But now, I am too old for them. Therefore, if it is not right to have a 23- or 24-year old, then I think it's best to have no muffin at all. See what I mean? But I can't even tell which of these girls is wearing latex, and which might be just wearing leather, or something else. Talk about TAINTED LOVE!
