  1. IMHO.... I am sure you are not correct....Sir..... Even the Neanderthals were social animals.
  2. Dear Lunus's Friends, About 25 years ago, I don't know how many years, I was completely besotted with the idea of exclusively using Linux for my desktop. I still agree that a Unix/Linux system is better. But, for whatever reason, the world is NOT what I had hoped it might be. And, Window won out. This just means that so many commercial apps do not run on a Linux system. Am I still so sad about this? Yes, I am. For example, I use ADOBE products, and ADOBE Pro does not run on Linux systems, natively. HOW SORRY am I that I must now use the complete crappola provided by Windows, and I mean the Operating System? I HATE Windows. I LOVE Linux But, these days, I have no choice. Back in the day, there was this question, which has now been answered, whether or not Linux might dominate 60 percent of the desktop user base. This never happened. And so, during the following years, the succeeding years, since 2010, I have been in a funk about this. I am talking about the DESKTOP market, and not the server market. And, Folks, I am still extremely depressed that Linux never took hold as I had wished it would, during the past twenty years. Still, SHT happens. And, Windows is an example of the SHT that happens in life. All I can say is that I feel very sorry for the entire world that Linux did not, finally, rule the DeskTop world. Probably you do not know just how much I also love Nicholas Negroponte, another love of my life... Years ago, I had hoped to see the opensource movement take over desktop computing. IF it had, then this would have been such an amazingly good thing for Mankind. But....this never happened. Obviously, Linux could have been completely good for the desktop. Too many things were against it. I just feel so disheartened and downright depressed that Linux was not able to take over the desktops of the world. I know that you are so solly, too. Gamma
  3. PS: One more thing. I would say that, ever since about twenty years ago.... I have LOVED Linus Torvalds. Recently, I have not kept up to date with Torvalds...and....maybe....he has become corrupted by his fame....BUT....even IF he has.... I think I will still LOVE Linus....just for being his usual inspiring self....and...for being....so.... INSPIRATIONAL to so many young people, and to the World, too.....actually.... F NVidia!
  4. OK. If nobody wants to object....then... I will just order this now from AMAZON USA. OK? Order Placed. Not interested in cancelling, now. I will get this on April 2nd. Thank you, ALL. (Not the fastest, but the cheapest!) I have no need for super fast.....because.... I am OVER 70. (( CL32 might be better, but I need CHEAP, just because I am CHEAP, and so....CL40 is better for a centenarian....maybe....))
  5. So, anyway...this week.... If I order this: Would anyone here object to this? Anything wrong with this?
  6. Yes. I agree with you, wholeheartedly. However, the purpose of this post was to ask: What might be the best DDR5 RAM, 64 GB, which I might be able to buy on Amazon USA, this week... something which I need to do. Any ideas?
  7. So many adjectives, you have....for me.... Still, how much perspective do you have? How old are you? In your teens, or in your twenties? Are you in denial, far more than I? What kind of comparison can you make between living in a world with 3 billion souls, versus 8 BILLION, today? In fact, judging by your comment, you have no clue just how good it was, in the world in which I lived, when I was young.... Not to mention, my love of Suzy Wong before you were born.... Do you even know what it was like to romance a WanChai Girl? Just sayin'....
  8. Over five decades.... Out in the cold. Projection has NOTHING to do with this Topic.
  9. I thought that you already ignored me..... Long ago. Apparently, you have not. You are ALWAYS welcome to comment on my Topics, .... Of course. Take care, Man. But, please just do not think you know what I am thinking. 64 GB of RAM is now extremely LOW COST. Therefore, I will install.... AT LEAST.... 64 GB of RAM. And, after reading your comment..... I might even MAX OUT MY RAM SLOTS...... AND, I might just UP my RAM to 192 GB for my Fing MOTHERBOARD..... Linus is my HERO, for ALL TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ====== I SHARE the sense of HUMOR of Linus..... BIG TIME. So..... This is just the way it is..... So Solly....
  10. THIS is ONLY what is needed for TODAY. Five years from now, we will need much more. Of course, if you intend to post stupid comments on ThaiVisa, ONLY, then you might not need 128 GB of RAM. It UPS to you, but I will always choose plenty of RAM, so that I never run out. Hope you follow my suggestion. Take Care!
  11. What you might not realize is that I intend to use my new build for the next TEN YEARS. Therefore, I would not be stupid enough not to, in the first place, install at least 64 GB of RAM on my rig. You have NO WAY of knowing what kind of memory requirement might be useful in the near future. And, truth be told, I am always running out of RAM. Therefore, I am being PROACTIVE. If you wish to call me a TROLL for being proactive, then this is your opinion, and NOT mine. Take care, Man. I thought you were smarter than this!
  12. Anything significantly better than this, THIS WEEK, from Amazon, or other retailers? Let me know, PLEASE! Thank you, Gamma
  13. Some guys might wonder why I might need so much RAM at this present time. IMHO, this is just a very stupid question.
  14. I need to buy DDR5 RAM, purchased on Amazon, USA. Anyone know what I should buy? I need two sticks of 32GB RAM, for total of 64GB, taking up two slots of the four slots available. So then, what would be my best choice? In the future, of course, I will add another 64GB of RAM, maybe next year, so that I can have sufficient main memory for my build. I have used Crucial RAM in the past...but...I have also used other suppliers..... So, anyway, what might be the best to PURCHASE.... This week???????? By the way.... I NEED TWO STICKS of RAM.... 64GB, total.... Fk if I do not. Thank you for any suggestions... Thank you very much. Gamma Note: My budget for 64GB of RAM cannot exceed USD200. Thank you. Take Care, My Friends!
  15. Maybe, I just feel that life, these days, is just too superficial to enjoy. Or, maybe you enjoy your life, SO MUCH, just because you are a superficial kind of guy.... I have no idea, really.... Do tell....
  16. No valid questions are stupid, of course. So, then, you are saying that my questions are not valid? Any evidence you can provide for this??? I very much doubt it.... Do you best, though.....
  17. Mostly, NO. You just cannot escape this truism. Better to give than to receive. How many here know this? I shiver with the cold. I have been OUT IN THE COLD for too long, in fact. We can't live out in the cold, FOREVER.... Are we all basically, just glorified baboons? Sometimes I do wonder. Regards, Gamma Note: YES. Most here are baboons, IMHO.
  18. I am going CRAZY. Not unlike you. Everybody is going CRAZY, nOW! What did you expect??????????? For sure, we are going CRAZY...and, I feel sorry for you. Fortunately, I had a few years, in the 1950s, when life was less crazy. Now, though, LIFE, these days, is definitely not as sane.... These days, it's ALL ABOUT....... UP SKIRT! Such a F** UP WORLD, really. Not even a COOL WORLD. So, very, VERY, F**D up... What do you think, even if you had known no better? Best regards, Gamma Note: It ain't my F*** Fault!!!!! NOTE2: It is only the fault of he Farang in PHUKET. The Farang have polluted Phuket, and have driven the island completely CRAZY! NOTE3: I HAVE SEEN FAR BETTER DAYS....
  19. Those guys seem to be making a citizen's arrest. But, for what purpose? What a mystery....
  20. So then, why not just plug several light bulbs into the socket and see if it add up, approximately, to the resistance you have connected. If you attach four 25-watt bulbs, then the meter should read approximately 100 watts, or measure AMPs, and then do the calculation. Or, just hook up a large fan turned to max, and see if the power consumption is close to the rated power on the fan. Or, maybe hook up a toaster. Or, I would hook up three microwave ovens and then check the meter. (My guess is that the meter on that plug is not accurate. And accurate meter, like the FLUKE, will cost several hundred...USD.) But, you do not need to so accurately measure your power use in order to select a suitable UPS. You just need to approximately estimate what you intend to plug into the UPS.
  21. You don't need to worry overly much about the rating on the APC UPS. Unless it might be an online UPS, which is more expensive. The offline UPS will supply power from the mains, and will only cut in a very small fraction of a second after abnormal power conditions from the mains supply. So, if you have 500 watts connected to an offline UPS, even one with a small battery, then no problem. But, when the power from the mains fails, then you won't have much time available to turn off your equipment. The advantage of the offline UPS is that it protects against short fluctuations in power, or very short power outages. I would always go with an online UPS, but not in Thailand where they are so much more costly than most places like the USA or Taiwan, or HK, or.....so many other places. I used to have an online APC UPS which I really loved. That model would connect to the computer to monitor and record power conditions. A crazy price in Thailand, IMHO. Therefore, I use only offline UPS in Thailand, where, maybe, one needs the online UPS....most.
  22. If it were I, then I would just buy a FLUKE, such as one of the following, and then I would test the multimeter that you purchased on Lazada. What brand did you buy, and which type. If you purchase one with the clamps, then you can test anything....including testing to see how many amps the power-strip is drawing. I like the looks of a FLUKE... CONCERNING UPS: I have always used APC brand. JIB has them for about 3500 Bt. I purchased two, about 9 years ago. When the battery wears out, then I buy an aftermarket battery replacement and replace it myself for about Bt.800, or so. Careful when replacing the battery, or it's easy to fry oneself. I wear rubber gloves. When you short a terminal, then.... Sparks will fly BIG TIME, so don't try this yourself unless....you are experienced, or so old that you are ready to go. Note: Why not just test your Lazada brand multimeter with some known resistance, such as a light bulb from a reputable manufacturer. Or, it's better to buy the Fluke, maybe....
  23. Mr. C was entirely correct concerning the low import tax when ordering this from Amazon.... Quite a bit cheaper than JIB... vs... So. Thank you for the info! Cheap, but maybe OK, too.
