When Dating a Woman, How Important is Her IQ?

You can take the bush out of a bushman, easily, unlike the bar out of the girl. And he will thrive in the Bronx. Wasn't it Rockefeller's son who was eaten by headhunters? No doubt, a Harvard man. PNG guys can survive anywhere. -
Unfortunately, Turing's is still the acid test, for some. But, can any robot pass the Electric Kool-aid Acid Test? This is the real question.

Street Smart is what you need to survive in PNG. The average tribesman in PNG is smarter than the entire freshman class at Harvard. Just ask the Harvard prof who wrote an entire book on this very topic. I'm sure you know who I mean. -

Most IQ tests, today, are not valid, and definitely dodgy, past 140. -

Wouldn't it be nice if the Wechsler were a pass-fail test. We could set the bar arbitrarily low. Who needs fine-grained tests, anyway? All children could become little geniuses and influencers posting their thoughts on YouTube, no different than today. -
When Dating a Woman, How Important is Her IQ?
GammaGlobulin replied to GammaGlobulin's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
When were you last tested? Surely you realize that IQ is an ambiguous quotient, at best, that changes over time. Have you never watched the informative film, 'Reefer Madness'? IQ is not immutable, and I have lost nearly one Standard of Deviation from the rightside of the bell curve since locking myself in my house for over two years. When eating Thai gruel for breakfast, I can't help dribbling. And where the dribbles go, nobody knows. These days, even the Thai Myna birds seem smarter than me, which no doubt is true. At this point, after the pandemic, and if only I were younger, I would pay good money to become a bricklayer, a stone mason, a welder, or somebody who uses warm water to drill holes, thousands of feet deep, in Antarctica, searching for gass bubbles. An individual's IQ matters little, these days. It's only our collective IQ which might save us from ourselves. And, even this might not suffice. What we need is a REAL Wizard of Oz. Some wizard we trust who will tell us what to do. There's no place like home. There's no place like home. There's no place like home. Do you think there is any hope for Dorothy? -

Laying a brick wall is a turn of phrase that stimulates the imagination. And, you are correct that, for the layman, bricklaying can only be fully appreciated by a true artisan, but one having many years of experience. If you have the opportunity to visit Chicago, you will be impressed by the beautiful and old brick buildings there. If I am not mistaken, Chicago is noteworthy for its yellow bricks made from clay unique to that area. Maybe a different city in the USA. has buildings of yellow brick, and not Chicago. You can google it. One thing I can say with certainty, The Wizard of Oz is a foolish film with little or no redeeming value. I once attempted to read this yarn to students from Burma. They begged me to cease. Burmese students very much enjoy good books. They love to read, and mostly they enjoy books with meaning, books by Defoe, for example. Who wants to read about a TinMan treading a yellow brick road? And for what? Students would prefer to read about Moll Flanders rather than Dorothy's travels. If Dorothy had been waylaid on the Yellowbrick Road, then you got yourself a decent and appealing story. Very unfortunately, bricklaying is quickly becoming a lost art, and same with stonelaying. I wish it were not so. Anyone who appreciates architectural anesthetics is sad to see these skills fall by the wayside. I was raised from birth through puberty in two houses made of stone built by Germans from Germantown. You are absolutely correct that no amount of IQ, by itself, can create a magnificent wall of stone. These skills result from a part of our culture which has now become almost completely lost. Fortunately, some valuable cultural anachronisms can still be enjoyed in Thailand, but maybe not for long. Appreciate these while you may. Equally fortunately, as old as I am, I don't have much more time to worry about falling-down stone walls, being an anachronism in my own right. -
I never heard of one robot exchanging fluids, or consuming fluids, together with other robots, unless one might be using the term 'robot' loosely in the metaphorical sense. The biggest hurdle to overcome in creating a machine possessing general intelligence, in my view, is duplication of biologically similar primary needs. Until you can make your computer thirsty for a Chang beer, then AI will remain a pipe dream. Still, optimistically speaking, a decade hence, we may create machines able to drink Chang. And this will be... Such a boon to the brewing industry.

Please, if possible, do not be overly judgmental nor harsh. Curiosity, and clicking as a result of curiosity, is a crucial part of the learning process. As well, not all posts on the Internet please everybody, nor should they. If posts could be posted ONLY if they met the high hurdle of pleasing everybody, then where would we be? Speaking of clicking, have you read much of B. F. Skinner? Many years ago, Skinner devised his Skinner Box. In his Skinner Box, Skinner put pigeons. He proved that pigeons would peck a key for limited reward, and continue pecking unto death. Much of his behavioral research has been adapted to motivate us Humans to act similarly after we attach ourselves to the Internet. Therefore, if you wish to ask the question concerning why we click on topics which might not agree with us, maybe this is due to curiosity, combined with our compulsion to peck for limited reward. Therefore, do not judge to harshly... For these clickers, just like the pigeon-peckers in a Skinner Box, know not what they do. (Please note that much of Skinner's work, his assumptions/hypotheses, have fallen out of favor in recent decades. Yet, peckers still survive, and not only in the lab.) -

Almost, a truer word was never spoken than this utterance of yours. As an example of this truism, I suggest that you reread the excellent book, "The World of Suzie Wong". In this book, the tart, Suzie, seems to have no idea who Winston Churchill might be. At least, that is, until Churchill's name is properly pronounced in Chinese, and then she understands, immediately. Holden was a great actor and a funny fellow, well met. But the short novel is better. There are 383 pages in this novel. I lapped them up, several times, when I was young. Unless you are completely and absolutely bilingual, then you will never be able to discuss in depth the underlying themes of the greatest novel ever written, 'Crime And Punishment', with your Suzie Wong. Years ago, there were a few White Russians floating about in China and Asia who had read Dostoevsky in Russian. But they are now long gone, just like the Sichuan chefs in Jiang Jieshi's army. These good Sichuan cooks died one by one, until there were, finally, none. They died, gradually, one by one, in Taiwan, like the 10 little Indians in Agatha's novel. So, you are correct. And, I don't know of anyone here in Thailand who has both read much of Dostoevsky and can also understand this post. There are some, but few and far between. Finally, and most importantly, I must add that it really matters little what topics of import you discuss with your GF. If the girl is super smart, then meaningful and fulfilling communication will always be fairly easy. And if, on occasion, one is still not satisfied in life, then there is always Thaivisa. -

Hedy Lamarr: Just one more example of an intelligent woman any man here would be proud to have on his arm. Not only was she an inventor, but she also appeared nude in film before this was customary. This is why many agree that, the smarter the woman, the more exciting in so many ways. Lamarr was a genius to die for. If only she had been Asian..... -

You are too modest, my son. -
Just soak paint brushes in turpentine. Or, just buy cheap paint brushes and dispose of them after a full 10-hour day of painting. Note: Cheap brushes are not so good. They will leave paint brush hairs on the walls, as you paint. Always better for the painter to have good quality brushes. Your best solvent of choice for cleaning paint brushes will depend upon the type of paint you are using. Alcohol is not particularly dangerous for most environments, by the way. (Never drink it, of course.) Here is a link for you, from Better Homes & Gardens, which is helpful to many in your predicament: https://www.bhg.com/decorating/paint/how-tos/how-to-clean-paint-brushes/

Still, for Brains and Beauty, few can top Dietrich. If only she were Asian, too, she might be tempting. Note: This amazing photograph may have been taken by Milton H. Greene, "an American fashion and celebrity photographer and film and television producer, best known for his photo shoots with Marilyn Monroe." Marilyn was no dummy, either. -

When I considered the importance of a lover with a high IQ, I did not necessarily mean someone like Yoko Ono, although she is talented and intelligent. She got a bad rap back in the day. Why, I do not know. She graduated from Gakushuin University and Sarah Lawrence College, apparently. Both are decent schools. I had always thought that Sarah Lawrence College was some sort of "finishing" school. Maybe it was. John Lennon was very satisfied with her IQ, presumably. And, she went to his head. -
My Dear Friends, I have met many women in my life, and I prefer, by far, women to men, of any level of intelligence. I would even go so far as to say that I prefer some less intelligent women to some smarter men, unless said men were both super smart, and also shared some feminine characteristics, traits important to me in my men friends. I am speaking about a man’s enjoyment and appreciation of his feminine side, such as, and for example, flower arranging, long walks, nurturance, empathy, tenderness, cooperativeness, warmth, and total lack of gym-type behavior such as snapping a towel at one’s best friend in the showers.. I am sure most of you guys here know that I am not just idly blowing gas only to hear myself speak. Because, please believe me, thinking of women, and how great they are, is central to my being. Nothing could be finer than thinking about women all day. And, regarding women of high IQs, may I say here that a woman’s higher IQ can even extend into the bedroom, where smart women seem to engage in more creative antics, compared to less intelligent girls. It’s like this: If you just want to date and marry a factory girl, one who’s got “stains all down her dress”, then maybe you will never be truly satisfied in the long term. I need to cut this short, I think. I have said my piece.. And now, I’m more at peace. Still, before I leave, I will leave you with this: Girls are great, Man. I love them Big Time, as Trump often says. But, I don’t take after Trump, no way, no how. I like nice girls. Best regards, Globobulin Note: Do you like girls smarter than you?

You wont believe where iconic "Bond theme" originated!
GammaGlobulin replied to CharlieH's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I read all the James Bond/Fleming novels before I was 12, and even before I knew how to pronounce the foreign-sounding given-name, 'Ian'. I pronounced it Ion, like the end of a cation, in Chemistry. This is how naive I was when I was 12. Of course, I had already read Fanny Hill, but still I knew not much about the real world, nor what goes on in darkened movie theaters, or why men and women go to movie theatres. Fleming's 'The Spy Who Loved Me' novel caused me deep trauma in my early youth, simply because Fleming had written something so different from what I expected or knew. Anyone who has read this book must recall some spy, wasting all his time, up in the balconies of a theater getting head, but not from the Sugar Plum Fairy. Sorry Lou. Sometime around 1964, I saw From Russia With Love. This film, at my tender age, blasted me out of my theater seat, although, I must have been too young to get an erection, such a waste. I have listened to Shirley Bassey sing at Albert Hall, and just the sound of her beautiful and spectacular voice always provides me a wonderful virtual boner, just as if I were in the balconies, in my favorite novel, The Spy Who Loved Me, with some counter-spy going down on me with her luscious Red Communist lips. But, really, this is what The Spy Who Loved Me is all about, if you have ever read it. "If you really want to know", as Holden Caulfield always said, being 12 years old, reading about a famous spy, up in the balconies, in 1964, getting head, was far more stimulating for me than anything Soi Cowboy might offer, these days. Of course, for a spy, getting head in 1964 is not much different from the experience of a spy getting head today. How could it be? Holden Caulfield, also, has never grown up. And, when she sings, Dame Shirley Bassey, age 85, will forever provide us with everlasting erections. Bentley and Bond. They go together like a horse and carriage. -

Yes, there is. Read some twin studies, for example. The linking of IQ to genetic inheritance has already been fairly well established, for decades. This, of course, is not the sole factor in determining IQ. Is the Moon made of green cheese, on the other hand? Maybe you will actually need to visit Earth's Moon to convince yourself that the Moon is, in fact, mostly Mozzarella.
