Dear Folks, I guess everybody recalls this wonderful song, and it was great...TRULY. I even had the album, as I recall. And, it was fine. However, if one were to stray off the beaten track with BOB....(not Bob Smith) heaven forbid, of course.... Then there were other lyrics which were downright....embarrassing. It happened to me, one time, when I had two albums of Bob's aplaying... And then, Bob started singing about some fairly taboo moves, and NOT just his usual night moves... Downright EMBARRASSING, for sure, when sitting around with a fairly "new" date. I will not post the raunchiest ones here. But, no doubt, you know the ones. So, my GF was not too embarrassed, as it turned out, because she was Chinese, and English was her second language. (Back in 1974) It was I who had the red face. And she thought nothing of it, since she had no idea what Bob was singing about. If she only knew.... She might have been titillated, and this is a known unknown. Wish she had known, now that I think of it...in fact. So my question is why and how did Bob come up with such raunchy lyrics, in the first place. Did you enjoy them? Were you disgusted by them? Dear Friends of Mine: As usual, I often think it almost criminal when some member here posts an inquiry, and then receives a lot of helpful advice, ....and... Then cannot even take the time to provide and update concerning... The upshot. Under this Topic, there were many valuable suggestions. And, if I were one with more time on my hands.... Then I might have chosen some more perfect solution. However, the Hot Season and the Smoking Season are nigh.... Maybe only a week or so in the future, around March First. Therefore, I needed to act fast....and... Put my hopes for the perfect solution on hold...until...maybe... Next years. This is why, I opted for the material: Locally called Fiber Cement Board. This board meets most of my requirements. Completely opaque. Can be installed in a jiffy. Quite water resistant, as far as I know. Strong as all get-out. The minuses might include lack of sufficient ability to limit sound transmission. However, I can just test it, first, and see if I am OK with it, as is. Also, of course, thermal transmission might not be all that I had originally hoped for. Yet, still, using this board will limit thermal transmission from radiation quite a bit, given that I have two layers of it. Also, same goes for convection of heat, I think. Sometimes, we cannot ask for the Moon, when there is not enough time to get one's duck in order. This solution I chose, as a temporary solution is really not so terrible. If I had had more time, I might have installed something else. But, the Ides of March is not far off. And, in a week or so, it's gonna get HOT, and it's gonna get SMOKY. Using this board, I will be protected... Thank the Lord. (I suppose, if I really want to, I can add some outer insulation to this board...and, I am thinking of Dryvit. Have you ever heard of this product?) They call it...OUTsulation....haha. And, I guess it works well. As far as I know, the inner monologue is sometimes also referred to as a dialogue. Still, it is the same phenomenon. And, we would be very much lost without it, IMHO.

Using just an inner monologue, or do you resort to subvocalizations of your thoughts about my nonsense, as well?

The inner monologue is sometimes available if one asks the AI, explicitly, to show this monologue to the human observer. For example, this is possible using DeepSeek, if I am not much mistaken. If one is still not satisfied with the VERBOSITY of the record of the monologue provided on the first try, then one can ask DeepSeek to be more verbose. And then, it will provide what you asked for, even though this might take a bit more time.

Yes. AI does have an inner monologue which, unfortunately, is often opaque to use human observers.

I am here in CM, using about 70,000 BTU of Panasonic AC. About 18 degrees C. Not sure how well they work. But, the temp is OK, for now.

You are correct that the observer may, unavoidably, influence that which is being observed.

Elon might just be going a bit "over the top" with his jokes. This last joke, similar tot he SINK joke at Twitter, sees my fellow-alum Elon wielding a chainsaw...complete with a large gold chain around his neck. I thought that gold chains went out of fashion, long ago. I every much enjoyed Musk's kitchen sink joke. However, I am not so sure about his gold jewelry. Is this over the top? I have my reservations about this. Yet, i will give him the benefit of the doubt, for now. I sometimes worry about those who gain instant power, suddenly and unexpectedly. Musk does best when he has a tech project to work on. Politics is a dirty business. I wish that Elon would stay away from politics. Just my humble two cents.

Dear Folks, I would be very much interested in knowing the state of your inner monologue. What do you typically discuss with yourself? Do you sometimes become annoyed at the inanity of it all? Are you able to turn it off, at will? Or, does your inner monologue sometimes become overwhelming? I am sure that having a good and healthy dialogue with oneself is necessary for many reasons. One of which might be planning one's next move. And, just so many other benefits of talking to oneself, you just cannot believe. What do you think might happen to you if your inner speech suddenly up and left you? Ever thought about it? Do you ever find yourself discussing bizarre topics? I do not.
