  1. I visit family and friends annually in the US. What I spend on ALL my utilities including phone and internet is less than anyone there spends on just their WATER bill. It's just insanse how much the cost of living is over there, and it's attributable to greed. About half the homeless in US are working but cannot afford a stable home. Poverty is a man-made construct.
  2. It depends on your priorities I guess. I haven't eaten at a restaurant for months. Having diabetes makes my diet important. I have my glucose under control, to the point that my doctor sent me a message saying to keep up the good work after recent blood work. My favorite saying in Thailand - "Up to you."
  3. I thought it was just Sa Kaeo. Apparently they're all down. Heavy sigh . . .
  4. I became disenchanted eating at restaurants when I observed a cook chopping vegetables, stopping briefly to vomit in a white bucket next to her, then going right back to preparing someone's food. Not MINE after seeing that!
  5. Think about it - I only shop where credit cards are accepted, primarily Lotus and Lazada. The only caveat, I use the QR code payment method at Makro.
  6. An illegal shipment of this size was most likely not the first time. Did a brown envelope fail to reach the right hands?
  7. Did they enter Cambodia legally? Seems that a Thai citizen shouldn't have had a problem re-entering Thailand.
  8. Get a credit card that gets money back, typically 1.5-2%, no annual fee, and no foreign transaction fee. Your purchases are protected against fraud and you pay a bit less for your items. Only things I use cash for any more is milk at 7/11 and gas for the motorbike.
  9. I retired comfortably over 20 years ago. Teaching was a way to stave off boredom, and it was great until yesterday. Details aren't important, it just hit me SOOOO strong that I could be sitting at my friend's little hideaway bar on the beach instead of dealing with prepubescent reprobates who don't want to be here. Done deal, notice given and I believe a suitable replacement will arrive soon. Here I come little hideaway bar!
  10. Again, these agreements are never free. Ultimately, Joe Taxpayer foots the bill.
  11. I'm sure the Murikkkan taxpayer is footing the bill to finance the deportations, whether over or under the table. Stocks SKYROCKETED for penal institutions as soon as this election was over, knowing the direction for mass incarcerations was coming. You have to keep the citizens in a constant state of fear in order to control them. Autocratic handbook 101.
  12. Starting salaries are exactly the same as they were 20 years ago, and annual pay bumps have decreased. I'm getting out of this racket after the first semester. Something in me just snapped, a fuse burned out, I've had it. Time to sit on the beach sipping a cool drink with an umbrella in it, fondling native girls' bums.
  13. To be sure, i don't know what braindead a$$wipe gave you a thumbs down for your info, but it wasn't me.
  14. You can't block people from posting, you can only place them on your ignore list. Gamma, a previously prolific poster, hasn't posted since late May.
  15. I believe an O-A requires insurance.
  16. The only thing used more swiftly is the thumbs downs from the trolls. Unless they will reply why they think you're wrong, then they're just LAZY trolls with sad, sad lives.
  17. It's been fully agreed by facts that 47 is the most prolific liar EVER to sit his fat butt behind the Resolute Desk. What do you think "prolific liar" means?
  18. Honestly now, does this kind of stuff happen in other countries? This is like a bad South Park episode.
  19. Damn! I used to do border runs at that crossing. There were a LOT of locals of both nations going back and forth doing business. This will hurt those who can least afford it.
  20. Pleeeeeeeeeeze! Bombing a country is NOT considered an act of war?
  21. This is debatable, you need to get YOUR facts straight. The FACT that he did not brief any Congressional Democrats, only Republicans, shows he knew he was on shaky legal ground. Obviously this will be scrutinzed in the near future.
