My son works for the gaming industry in Washington State. The casinos have promised for YEARS that some of the proceeds would go to schools and roads. Even more, the legal weed businesses have promised the same. Washington State is in the top ten for worst roads in the US. Their schools are an embarrassment. In a country rife with corruption, I see no up side to legalizing casinos other than lining pockets of those who control the industry.

I don’t wish to be rude but why don’t you actually ask Wise? I've personally contacted Wise support and they will bend over backwards to help. Just give them a call, or they respond to Facebook queries VERY quickly.

I flew economy all my life, then China Air gave me a free business class upgrade. Like the drug pushers say, "The first one is free." I haven't gone back to economy since.

A good friend of mine works for a major airline. He was telling me how, globally, corporate greed is starting to suffocate airlines just as it is doing to everything else. Pay and benefits have been cut drastically and they're having trouble finding pilots who will work under such conditions. I can only imagine the Thai airlines are following suit and soon perhaps the guy selling chicken nuggets on the street may be offered a job flying planes.

The BEST thing that came from my divorce was a bankruptcy. I couldn't even get a gas credit card for five years. This taught me to live within my means, which then taught me to save/invest, and the rest is history. Enough money that I will never again have to worry about it, an exceptional credit rating, and a life I never would have thought in a million years I'd be living. It breaks my heart to see the people here, one of the wealthiest nations on the planet, drowning in household debt. Poverty is a man made construct and it is sickening to see.

I had the good furtune to be offered an early retirement at age 46 due to a Navy base closure which I jumped on. What this afforded me was to think about what adventures I'd like to try. I worked a contract for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines which I'd probably still be doing except you had to work 7 days a week. We all need a weekly day off. After that, I decided after over a decade of being a scuba Divemaster that I'd get my Instructor certification. Thailand reportedly had one of the three best courses, so I came to try that. Nice for a few years but working so hard for NO money (not even tips) didn't set well. OK, I want to stay in Thailand, what am I qualified to do? Teaching English was a logical choice. And I'm STILL doing that now, though I fell into a sweet gig - part time, and I am my own master at this school. Works well for them, works well for me, and I plan on staying at this school as long as my body will allow it. Bottom line - I've had periods of complete retirement and found myself bored to tears. I really believe having a reason to look forward to weekends instead of EVERY day being a Saturday is the way to go.

I pretty much plan on carrying my passport any time I'm doing any transaction more than buying milk at 7/11. Better safe than sorry.
