  1. And you don't think that Covid has affected your mental health??? I think you would do well to seek external advice Amigo!
  2. Have you had it yet????.....I promise you...You will get it! My Girl Friend runs 2 beauty salons......More than half of her customers have already had Covid and many have admitted to her that they kept working in (Bars, Massage, Restaurants, etc.,) knowing full well that they had tested Positive.....Because they needed the money!
  3. I have had Covid for 14 days now! Instead of spouting SH!!TE about symptoms, mental effects, etc., when you have not experienced Covid yourself!.....Ask someone who knows!..... <deleted>! PM me if you want to know what it really feels like!
  4. Does thiis mean that if I return to Thailand with say 10 months left on my Non O Visa extension I could simply by a "Throw away" onward ticket to say Vietnam due 29 days after my arrival and therfore could get away with only buying 30 days insurance?
  5. Unless of course the victim is a poacher! On another note in a related story it said that 2 tigers had been poached! Just how big a pan do you think it would take?......Or maybe they poached them one at a time?
  6. It transpires in later reports it was water in the cup not beer! Maybe he thought Songkran had come early! ???? We can all make mistakes when Sh*t-f@ced!!!!
  7. Thanks again Mate! I know how ''ANAL" they can be at Samui IMO. My extension isn't due until July so I will get the updated requirements list when I do my next 90 day report......Although as we know Thai laws and Immigration "Rules" are subject to "Stingray Time"....As in "Anything could happen in the next half hour"! I take no chances and actually do the Bank withdrawal, update the Bank Book, get the statements and Bank letter and go home to make the photo copies....Then go to the International Hospital to get the Med Certificate.....Pray to Buddha and Then go to immigration hoping that the Fat One is not premenstrual on the day! It was even worse when "Mr. Angry" was The Boss Man at Nathon ....(Before he ended up in the "Nick")! By the way....I have always done the Money in the Bank Route..i.e, I always keep over 1m Thb in my savings account....I do not do the Pension/Combination method and I am on Non Immigrant (O)....Not OA or Marriage Visa!.....
  8. Thanks Phetphet!.....By the "Grumpy One" I assume you mean the "Plump Lady" who normally deals with Retirement Extensions? It seems that she treats different people on Samui in different ways according to how she is feeling on the day!.....I have noticed over the years that she is always far more accomodating just after lunch!....For that reason I normally go to IMO at about 1:15pm. They used to put out the lists with all the requirements, but I haven't seen them for a while! I know she treats people differently, but I was wondering if this 12 month Statement thing is a New Rule?.....I have never been asked for that before in 12 years......But as you know they change the rules all the time! The other thing is now Samui IMO only seem to allow a maximum of 10 working days before your extension is due unless there are extenuating circumstances!....Once I had to go back to the UK 4 weeks before my extension was due for business reasons. I normally spend a couple of months over there which would mean I would miss my extension date or have to come back very early! At first they wouldn't play ball and said I would have to start my Visa application from scratch when I returned!.....However, they eventually relented on condition I provided copies of my return flight tickets! I have never asked KTB for 12 month's statements, but I know some banks can be slow as they have to get the statements from Head Office!....I am wary of missing the "Window"!
  9. The difference is having lived here for 12 years I know my way around Samui immigration office and their procedures. These "Tourist types" obviously did not know their way around and were forming long queues at the information booths set up outside the office in tents! I do not think I am "Special" as you put it! I was simply stating that they appeared to not know their way around!....
  10. Thanks for your very useful reply! I notice that you mention 12 month statement!...... Is this a new requirement at Samui IMO?
  11. Thanks Jimbo! I went to immigration today on Samui as BBL want a certificate of residence to open an account here! When I got to immigration it was packed with "Tourist Types" so I left and decided to open an account with SCB!.....When I arrived at the Local SCB Branch it was closed with a notice pinned to the door saying closed due to Covid within the branch (bank staff). I can wait! Maybe a blessing in disguise????
  12. Sorry MT if I did not make myself clear! I do not wish to leave KTB, but I want to open another account simply for WISE tranfers over 50K Thb! BBL, Kasikorn or SCB are the only Thai banks that WISE are allowed to transfer over 50K per transaction to! I will just open a 2nd Thai bank account with one of those mentioned above purely for WISE transfers and then transfer the monies to KTB!
  13. Thanks guys for all your information. In truth the only reason I am considering getting a second Bank Account is because of the problem with WISE transfers to Thailand over 50K Baht!. I have been a Krung Thai Customer for 12 years plus and no complaints apart from when a "Girlie" was staying with me about 10 years ago and obviously stood behind me at the ATM....Clocked my PIN and you know the rest..... 120K Down before I noticed and KTB said it was my fault!...No compensation! I even got her arrested by the Tourist Police when I found out about the loss and got the pictures of her withdrawing the cash from the ATM cameras......I also got the Tracking Codes and found out that she did not actually take most of it as cash, but had transferred it to her own account via the ATM! When they arrested her I said I would see the cops at the station to give my statement and they took her away in the car...(they were expecting me to get in the back of the "Paddy Wagon" with her)!.....No Way!.....She had suddenly turned into a WildCat! Guess what???....When I got to the Tourist Police Office there was no sign of her or the cops!.....I waited over an hour and then the Office Cop told me that she had "ESCAPED"! I told them that it was BS and she must have paid them off!.....Things then started to turn NASTY with the cops so I just said, "Forget it"! and put it down to experience and left. I will keep my KTB account and probably just get a Bangkok Bank account to use for transfers. Thanks again to all for your help and hope you learned from and/or had a laugh at my story???
  14. One thing I should have added is which do you feel is better if any when getting statements, updating Bank Books , etc., for Retirement Extension purposes? I live on Samui and they are often difficult to deal with and tend to change 90 Day Report requirements as well as Annual Extension Requirements at short notice. I know some offices ask for 12 month's statements when applying for the Annual Extension and that some banks may take over a week to supply these...... Samui immigration only normally allow a period of 10 working days before the extension is due to apply so any hold up in getting statements could cause severe problems! Last year they only asked for 3 months "Back-Statements", but you know what it's like! TIA
  15. I currently only use Krung Thai Bank in Thailand, but now WISE will only allow transfers of less than 50,000 Thb per transaction to Bangkok Bank, SCB or Kasikorn I want to open another account. I visited branches of the above today to enquire about opening a new account. Kasikorn said I could not as my Visa is Non (O) Retirement and they only allow Non (OA) applicants who have retired. So my choice is Bangkok Bank or Siam Commercial Bank. So which is best? Many thanks in advance!
  16. What a JERK!....This guy needs to assimilate and "Grow a Pair"! I have been through much worse in a UAE police detention cell in Sharjah. The charge was drinking and driving and I was the passenger! The Cell was 4m x 3m!....On the night we were arrested there were 27 people in the cell....We had to take it it turns to sleep as there was not enough space on the floor! At one one point the number went up to 47! We spent 9 days in the cell and got fined 4,000 Dirhams.....(That was in 1985) ...750 quid! If you want to know more please DM me!....Kids today are Pussycats!
  17. Because you get a poor exchange rate, plus other charges and fees!
  18. Never buy a car that has Finance owing....(Check first). Only pay cash when you have been to the DLT, Transferred the car to your name and the keys and Blue Book are in your hands! NEXT?
  19. Get a cat!....They can catch them and do. Since we got our cat I hardly ever see geckos except for the ones that live in the Aircon which she can't reach!
  20. On the contrary.....He never charged me any management fees or took any commissions!
  21. Thanks Chomper......Will sorted out a long ago by a UK solicitor. My former FA in the UK has now arranged it for me to deal with the pension company direct. I had several work pensions all from different companies as I was in software sales and moved companies quite a bit. He amalgamated all the different pensions into Aviva so it should be fairly straight forward from here! Hope you had a great Xmas and and all the best for the New Year!
