Those fish ponds are great. When I go to Isaan with my Girlfriend we go to her Aunt's farm and they always ask me to catch the fish for a big family barbecue. All they give is a long pole with a three foot line and a hook baited with worms. Last time I caught about 40 Tilapia in 1 hour! My GF says the Govt. even give a grant to stock the pond.....Not sure if that's true?....But, sounds like a Thaksin "vote winner" from yesteryear Everyone is happy except the Uncle who sees his stock disappear when I arrive!

Thanks for your reply. I have not yet approached either KTB or Bangkok Bank to find out their charges and likely exchange rates. Nearer the time I will of course do that. In the 12 plus years I have been living in Thailand my international tranasactions were one way only (UK to Thailand) for which in recent years I have used Wise many times as it is simple and they give good exchange rates. I was hoping Dee money could provide a similar service in the other direction....As I am sure you know Wise does not currently offer this service.

Dear all, I am very reluctantly considering moving back to the UK as with my age and health conditions it is becoming increasingly expensive or in many cases impossible to get health insurance. I have two Thai Bank accounts. KTB in which I keep Thb 1m approx. for Retirement Visa purposes and Bangkok Bank which I use for day to day expenses. I already have a Dee money account set up, but have never used it. Can anyone explain the best way to move the money back to the UK if not Dee Money. Dee Money said that I could use them to do the transfers, but they have a daily limit of Thb 800k and so I would potentially need to make the transfers over 3 days. Has anyone used Dee Money successfully to transfer large amounts such as this? Would you trust Dee Money? Many thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Yeah....The water is always freezing in Southern Thailand's lakes because it comes from Glaciers way up in the Mountains! -
Exactly correct! I have been unfortunate enough to have lost luggage on several flights over my many years of travel. The first thing they ask for is indeed your Boarding Pass to which they often stick your luggage receipt(s) at check-in....Sometimes they attached the luggage receipt(s) to your passport. I have also lost luggage on 3 separate occasions when travelling long haul, never to be seen again.

You can watch all the games live, full replays, mini matches and Highlights of the games at this site......https://www.sbs.com.au/ You can get most VPNs on a free trial or 30 day money back guarantee. Try Nord VPN, Surf Shark, Express VPN, etc., etc. If you have a laptop or PC just connect to your TV with HDMI cable. No other boxes needed. You can even watch using your mobile/cellphone or Tablet, but you will need to buy a special adapter cable and not ideal. They also have loads of other content such as movies, news and so on. Also if you get a VPN you can watch all the games live on either BBC or ITV and also watch full match replays using BBC iPlayer or ITV On Demand. Hope this helps. -

It all adds to the excitement of island travel in Thailand! But, joking apart I get why people don't like using Thai Ferries. I live on Samui and regularly travelled on the Raja Ferries including Raja 4 before it sank.....What a "Rust-Bucket"...I was always on edge even in the calm waters of the Gulf when travelling on the Raja Fleet, particularly when I tried to find Life Jackets and when I did saw what a state they were in! I was a diver in the North Sea (UK) based on ships in the 1970s - 80s where the seas were Humongous. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3440475/Want-feel-sea-sick-Stomach-lurching-video-shows-EXACTLY-like-board-ship-caught-devastating-storm-North-Sea.html From time to time it got scary, but I was always nervous when travelling on Raja Ferries. Now I only use Seatran if I am taking the Car.....Otherwise I fly everywhere!

Well unless your name is Jesus Christ or Michael Phelps you will have difficulty in getting to Koh Lanta without a ferry!
