  1. I have 13 and I am getting this speed. Well worth the money.

Hijacking the thread, but Im on 3BB 10MB/m and is fine (still some buffering etc on videos) but has anyone upgraded from 10mb to 13 or higher. Worth the extra 32837019380.png

  2. I have a new Samsung Galaxy Smartphone S 5360, I downloaded an App then deleted it and now there are two app icons on the top bar of my phone. As far as I know there are only the apps I had when I bought the phone. I can only assume they are there because I was experimenting with the phone. Can anyone tell me how to remove them? I have downloaded videos from my home PC and the sound is very low, I have tried the volume controls and they are at maximum. Is this normal with Samsung phones? I do not have this problem with my Ipad.

Try using your ear phones to listen to videos and music. It might prove the sound.

I am talking about with the earphones, When I listen without the earphones it is louder but tinnier.

That is bad mate. Try to adjust the settings as described above.

  4. I just looked at a few reviews of you phone mate and it seems to be a common problem.

'It is a nice technology, but there is a lot need to be done about the low sound quality- low'.

'volume of sound is too less even if the volume at max. level'

No fixes posted at all so it looks like you will just have to live with it.

  5. For the volume problem go to Settings->Sound. There are seperate volume settings for call ringtones, music and videos, alarm ringtones, system sound, and notification ringtones.

Yes I had done that and the settings are at full volume. It must just be a Samsung thing.

Just on the off chance have you adjusted the volume keys on the left hand side of the phone. You should be able to increase it there.

  6. You should try and find an independent satellite co. in your area. That's what I did last week and was up and running in a few days. I have to say the channel line up is better than true. Love the Nat Geo channels they've got. Fox fx shows some pretty good recent shows. Bio and C.i also have some good documentaries. Lots of other sports available on fox and star too. News channels are also a breath if fresh air.

What is the picture quality like BB. Is it as good as True HD. The reason I ask is that I was looking at another cable TV provider and the picture was really bad

  7. I am strongly in favour of upgrading the Thai rail system, which is SLOWLY being carried out. But I see no need for a HSR, which is passenger only, and which 90% of Thais will never afford to ride. The cost of the HSR spent on the existing system could easily double the speed of current express trains AND goods delivery.

BTW I am talking about the corruption of THIS government. Give me one example of a western government pouring 10% of revenue into a black hole and achieving nothing except enrichment of the wealthy (in the government).

One example is the US in Iraq. Pouring in billions and taking out the oil, but that should be discussed on another thread.

Not to mention that it was a pitiful attempt to meet the parameters requested.

Mick We obviously do not agree on this matter so lets just beg to differ. My post does meet your parameters its a complete waste of money and the only winner is the government. However as said that is a different subject.

  8. The former chinese colleage of this minister, the promoter of the High Speed Trains in China, has just been condemned to the death penalty for corruption.

I don't understand the ignorance of some posters.

    1. It's an international corruption project.

    2. The technology of these trains does'nt fit with Thailand.

Absolute rubbish. I doubt that you have ridden one of these trains let alone been to China.
  9. I remember when the sky train was never going to happen and also the underground it did and thats a fact. This will happen like it or not. Cash does not come in to it. Like the tallest building etc its all face. You should know that.

We seem to agree that it SHOULD NOT happen, only differ on whether it will. I hope that an attempt to build a White Elephant, Special Class, will be seen for what it is, just another scam and nipped in the bud.
Thai Thai train system is outdated and almost obsolete, so it needs to be upgraded. Why not upgrade to the latest technology? This would serve the Thai people as well as the Government. Also are you saying that corruption is an Asian thing. Lots of examples of Western corruption to be found.
Is that like saying I am so poor I let my old car get outdated and almost obsolete so why shouldn't I upgrade to a the latest technology; a Veyron?

Thailand does need to upgrade its train system but for hauling (wide gauge, double tracks) freight and some passengers and get the most benefit for the least price. The money wasted on the extravagance of a passengers only HSR could be spent better on any number of worthier projects such as flood walls for Bangkok.

Yor analogy is poor and not relevant. This investment would benefit the people of Thailand not only the rich. We agree on the train system upgrade anyway.

  13. No the Chinese do not want to build a HST to Chiang Mai they want to build one from Singapore to Peking.

The government has no plans to build one from Bangkok to Chiang Mai either. They have a plan to build it part of the way and they are hoping private industry would build the next two phases.

I estimate a HST from Bangkok to Chiang Mai to be completed some time in the neighborhood of 2045. By then there will probably be a need for it.

The Chinese line will begin in Chengdu and carry on through Laos and south. There is more than one way to build an empire.

Unlike the PTP's wet-dream, the Chinese freight-line makes some sort of economic-sense, and might actually get built.

Whereas, as Hellodolly rightly points out, the current yet-to-be-financed/started Thai-proposal only goes part-way up to Chiang Mai, and then leaves the harder parts for someone else to do.

You may be correct, when you say that there is cynicism (on TV), I'd prefer to call it the voice-of-experience. Just look at how slowly the dual-track project has been proceeding, under SRT, or how long the new airport took to actually open, or how slowly its delayed-expansion is running, or the progress on the urgent flood-work funded/promised in 2011, or how well the Dawei project is going.

Or even just look to see the next road-resurfacing project, nearest your home, and see how well-engineered it is.

IMO there is simply no way that the Thai proposal will be completed, on the current schedule, if ever. One must try to be realistic about this project. cool.png

I prefer to call it cynicism which is not quite the same as experience. My take on this is that it will go ahead and it will be built and possibly funded by the Chinese, but only time will tell. I agree that Thais are not very capable when it comes to engineering projects and thats why they outsource.
