  1. TrueMove H also has "XL" and "XXL" iPhone plans:

XL, for B899/mo, inlcudes 300 SMS & 50 MMS, plus (if I'm translating the Thai correctly) 2GB of 3G+, but shaped to 384k after that.

XXL, for B999/mo, inlcudes 300 SMS & 50 MMS, plus (if I'm translating the Thai correctly) 5GB of 3G+, but shaped to 384k after that.

I got the XXlL but they still trimmed me

Did you download over 5GB in that month? If so, then shaping to 384k is what they say will happen until the new month allocation starts.

If/when I am unable to get the B599 (or B499) monthly plan with 3GB (or even 2GB) of 3G+ with the free phone calls/SMS/MMS, I'm not sure what I would choose. I don't think I use more than 2GB, but never kept track. B899, much less B999, seems too expensive.

I used 4 GB fairly quickly but did not realise that I had. I was watching videos on Youtube. Now I know the score I will be more careful in the future. This was not discussed when I bought the plan, so I was a bit surprised.

  2. I have just got the answer to the lower speed from True. They sent a message claiming fair usage policy and apparently I have gone about what ever the limit is, so they have put me on a lower speed until the 18th of December. Weird because I have an unlimited package.

I think it was early 2011 that TrueMove amended their service contract plans. Prior to that "unlimited" really did mean unlimited 3G. Since then, all plans posted on their web site have asterisked "conditions."

For the TrueMove iPhone "Free Size" package "unlimited" meant 3GB/month of 3G, then the remainder of the month at 256k EDGE speed.

I see that TrueMove H's iPhone current (new?) "Free Size" plan for B599/mo now includes only 2GB/month of combined 3G+ and EDGE usage and includes 300 phone calls, but no SMS/MMS.

  3. You will see Truemove-H 3G

    Means ur on HSPA+ ( 3G+ )

What does it say when you are roaming on the old True 3G network? Or, I suddenly wonder, is the entire old True 3G network completely gone, with old True 3G subscribers roaming on the new 3G+?

I dont know anymore. Does not make sense to me. The old network was a smaller network, on UMTS. the new one is alot alot bigger, and on HSPDA+. (faster). As such, i would envision they are trying to move customers to the new True Move H network. I doubt old True Move network would roam on the new True Move H, but the otherway around makes sense.

Mine usually says Truemove-H 3G... And a few times when i have been in the countryside it has said Truemove-H E this i assume means i am roaming on the old Edge network

But i see no change from the old 3G and the new 3G?...

Also when i first switched to H a couple months ago i saw speeds of around 5mbps... But lately it never goes above 2mbps :(

  4. Hi Skippy, I got the same results on my speed test using my Truemove H air card 6.1 downlload, 2.3 upload. The thing is that there is a tremendous fluctuation in speed depending on the time that you use the Internet. This morning I am getting 0.41 Mbps on download and 0.25 Mbps on upload, which is miserable to say the least. I don't see why there should be such a huge difference in the speeds?

  5. It might not be your connection, I am on True and the speed is fine here in Pattaya. Have you tried running a Malware scan to see if you browser is being hijacked. Also clear your browsing data and cache and it might speed things up a bit. Also try cleaning all the crap off your computer, by running windows total care or crap cleaner. They are both free downloads and not big flies to download.

  6. Hi, Someone mentioned one in BKK,so hope to find that one as nearer.

Any ideas on proceedure and costs ?

    Thanks

Google "Indian visa bangkok" and go to the Indian embassy website or the website of VFS Thailand (Indian government has outsourced the visa work to VFS). I am not sure if i can post a link to their websites, but i found it by googling. VFS is located in Glass House 15th floor, short walk from MRT/Skytrain Sukhumvit station. Went there for tourist visa on friday. Single entry validity 3 months cost 2200Baht approx.

And you MUST fill the visa form online, take a print out and only then go to the VFS office. Only online filled forms are accepted as it generates a reference number also.

Hi Saakura, How long did it take to issue the visa. I will be applying and was hoping that it would be no more than 3 days?

    Thanks

Hi, it will take at least 7 working day's and you can do it out of Pattaya. They only give you a single entry, 3 month valid. After this you have to wait for 2 month to apply again. They just came up with all this new stuff!

You might try by yourself in Bangkok to get things done quicker but quite certain you will not get longer without lots of paperwork......Good luck

Hi Esther, Thanks for the reply. How can I do this out of Pattaya?

    Thanks

  8. I will be going to India soon, so I checked the Indian embassy website for Bangkok and found that they are no longer accepting visa applications and that all visa's must be applied for on line through the VFS. has anyone had any experience with this process. If so how long does it take to issue for a non Thai resident?

    Any comments appreciated.

    Thanks Rick

  9. You were a much better side for the changes. What MrRed has said on the England thread is correct....the youngsters need to be brought in and the old guard forgotten about.

That second half was fantastic from those kids.

    Now bugger off. biggrin.gif

Agreed a great performance by the youngsters. The defending was brilliant against the world champions, who looked pretty ragged towards the end.

  10. The Government have been more concerned about reconciliation and other populist issues, so they were caught on the hop with the flood situation. Mismanaged, misunderstood and Yingluck is way out of her depth in trying to handle this at the 23rd hour. God help the people of Bangkok and the others in the North that were ignored for the past few months when the floods began.

  11. Big Rick, a lot of us have those feelings about the euros from time to time. Even someone like me, who cares very little for my country's policies and meddling ways. But stirring up these animosities at a time like this just isn't going to get us anywhere. Those of us here in BKK are stuck in a serious situation and, who knows, it might be an Englishman or a German or a Belgian or a Spaniard who gives us a helping hand--although I admit I would prefer it to be an Italian!--and vice versa. I do have the feeling that as Thailand goes through extreme hardships and probably some cruelties in the coming weeks that we Westerners might not be all that welcome of a sight. Best we don't fight amongst ourselves and give Thais yet another reason to wonder why they let us in. All this aside, the current Thai government, of course, should receive all the condemnation in the world for its atrocious handling of this crisis.

    Good post.
